Need an Arc tutorial on online content! What can be done and how.
They could have included streamer functionality via usb or coax like in the ROCK (intel NUC).
I use a cheap Beelink micro pc i picked up off Amazon for a c note. Runs rock just fine.
and the specs like cpu ram ?
So you showed me a mini computer without a hard drive. Please help me understand why this product is geared towards audio (hi-fi components?) when we can purchase either an i5 or i7 Intel Nuk with 16gb RAM and a 512gb SSD for less than the price of this alone? I love your software but just not so sure about the premium price of your hardware.
I could not afford even the price of the roon software. With Raspberry Pi 4 and a hifiberry dac, Logitech Media Server and the forgotten MusicIP Software, i found a solution, which has equal or, in my opinion, better functionality and greater support. Roon vs LMS is like Apple vs Linux.
Don’t worry. It’s not for you.
The point is to have a solution which doesn't require you to manually update each time OS and software, to avoid driver incompatibility and to give to less tech savvy people the joy of streaming without having to become IT experts. This is to democratize/maximise the user base of Roon.
If you can't get that and all is about the specs either you are 15 years old or you really can't see the point of view of common people who just want to press play and enjoy the music they already own without the hassle of doing decentralized setups.
@@mytoxi Yeah, the price is really steep and it's the thing keeping me out of it...I don't see the reason in having a DAC in the Raspberry Pi, since I'm just using my as a streaming server and I let the receiving device do the conversion (Sonos Beam, receiving PC, streamer on my hifi chain) but honestly I hope in more refined Open Source solutions since I don't mind doing the setup my self and these solutions being really expensive...15$ pcm on top of whatever you already pay for hardware/streaming service/etc is not cheap and not for everyone...
Is this using an intel i5 or i7 ?
Celeron 5105.
You don't need an i5 nor an i7 for music streaming...it's just a waste of electricity...plus, being this just a central storage server, you don't even worry about decoding capabilities. I Run a Raspberry Pi and I let my receiver decode the music, I find it the best and cheapest solution.
I just started my HiFi channel. If you are looking for reviewers who can cover German and English , I’d be interested!
