So I spent the last week diving into different therapies for everything from depression to PTSD and decided that rather than just talk about them... I might as well do them. First I dove into the science behind THC and how if used incorrectly it can negatively affect the ECS. Next, I wasted an entire day on psilocybin and got a few good insights but didn't love the experience. With that being said, ketamine, psilocybin, and MDMA are all great potential therapies for anyone suffering from depression and PTSD. Finally, I tried to go to the spirit world but didn't quite get the experience I was looking for.

Came for the gains, stayed for the brains. Ryan, thank you. It’s awesome that you are living your best life.
It's actually crazy how smart this guy is
I could feel the happiness when you showed your wife and then your dogs. I was amazed that you immediately started talking about your fear of getting old and losing what you have.
Ive been struggling so hard with this. This video actually made me sad. It was almost like you validated my feeling, which is terrible in this instance.
Know what death is like is what's been keeping me up at night as of late
We all get old and die. But where are you Going when you die? Are you saved? Have you heard the Gospel? Jesus loves you, so much so that he Died on the cross and RESURRECTED defeated death and will return. The book of revelation speaks of the signs of the times. The Euphrates is already drying up and demons are being called space aliens. The times are at hand. Have you accepted the son of God into your heart ?
@@Over-9kYou’re the type of loon that makes people leave christianity.
I enjoyed this video as well. I have been feeling the same. I’m not religious, sometimes I’m afraid to die and never come back to this life or experience my loved ones again. It makes me sad when I think of nothing after this, kind of like how there was nothing before we were born.
What brings me peace is trying to make the most out of every situation and love every experience that comes my way. I hope you all find peace
You are not alone! I recomend therapy it got me over my fear and man does it feel good ! Just know you are not alone and look at the things around you, let the brain rediscover everything around you, it helps.
Ryan! I also have 14 rescue dogs, and one of them is missing his front left leg. Good for you for finding a good place.
But do you have a thicc wife?
Random question. Do you also don’t have kids?
@@newbluerugby No, I do not.
You found his leg yet?

Been following ryan for years now after finding him on CZcams and trying out some things with shoulders. I've completed every course ryan is the man I'm glad he has a life he loves and puts out free content for people to better themselves and for what he does charge for its very affordable. How is this guy not the most popular fitness personality? Thank you ryan
Yeah I wasn't expecting that at all. You're a good man, Humiston, for looking out for the pups. Especially the tripod.
Hey Ryan, I just want to thank you for all the time and effort you put into your videos. They're always extremely informative and entertaining. I'm touched, helped, inspired and motivated by you. You're incredibly down to earth, very intelligent, and absolutely, F*#%ing hilarious! I really appreciate you and what you do, man. I wish we were neighbors.
Ryan your channel has grown so much I love it, thank you bud. Get after it.
That’s a whole new level of respect for you man. Much love came from that short clip of the dogs hanging out and hopping around being happy
This video really struck me hard. I'm 66. Still working out. Still happy with my results. I had a Horse Rescue ranch 22 years ago and was happy rescuing horses from stupid people and also with my fitness accomplishments. Then my ranch got flooded out and I didn't have flood insurance, because I wasn't in a "flood zone". So I lost everything. The horses survived, and I found good homes for all of them.
I still workout regularly, and I travel for my job. But until the past 2 years, I never once thought of my mortality. Now it's a daily thought process. I don't dwell on it, but it's a weird feeling knowing that the end is nearer than the beginning. I still feel and think young. It's just weird.
Anyway, for what it's worth, this video was, in an odd way, motivating. Not because of the drug/supplement subject, but because of the way you looked with the dogs. The preciousness of life.
Kind of an odd post from me, I know, but....thank you Ryan. 'Love all of your vids.
@charlesandersen8814 We've traveled many similar paths my friend. The "solution" I found was to shift my focus to the Spiritual side of the house. Training wise the emphasis is on maintaining rather than gaining and it's been that way since my late 40s. I'm mostly kettlebells and clubbells these days with a solid joint mobility program (Pavel Tsatsouline). Daily meditation has silenced the "death is nearing" voices. Life is good. Enjoy.
Been aware bad since I was 12, I'm 48 now. It ebbs and flows. I'm like you, I still think young tho.
I thought about it a lot in middle school. Always thought about how long eternity is. I didn’t want to end up in the wrong place eternally. Started reading the Bible at around 12 and got changed by what I read. I am 40 now and the Lord has never let me down.He takes away the sting of death for sure.
Good for you , sir. 66 and still crushing is pretty impressive
you definitely found your calling... you have a great way of presenting the information in an entertaining way. Many blessings for continued success
I was depressed and wanted to die for 30 years with a great life. Lsd helped me realize life was a thing worth doing. Met my wife and doggo a year later and in grateful to Lucy for rewiring me right.
This is interesting and weird. All at the same time to listen to you. Tell us this stuff... You're okay..

I miss LSD
Love your humorous approach and always enjoy watching your videos because I learn something new. Also, thanks for rescuing all those dogs!
Excellent discussion on THC. I talk about this with my patients so often and their management of stress. Well done! It is great to have people educating more on this especially with its popularity in media and society.
I like that you dug into the science and brought that into your discussion of these substances. I also liked that the upshot, I felt, was to avoid them. Educated consumers drive the markets in the right direction. Continue to do your part.
Bro, the pups brought a tear to my eye legit. I'm such a fan of you and this channel, keep up the good fight my dude!
My entire view of you changed, when you spoke about the dogs. That's my lifetime dream, and I'm really happy to see you doing it too. Much love and respect, I'll defend you forever now. I will be a loyal supporter and subscriber. Thank you, Ryan. ❤️🙏💪💪👍
The fact u rescued 100 dogs makes me respect u even more!
Keep it up

been microdosing on psilocybin on and off for a few years, it was part of what got me back on the fitness track and thus got me here, loved this video!
Do you have to obtain at a dispensary?
??
@@DirtyDemon917no. You usually have to buy spores and then grow your own.
This video changed my entire perspective of you, and for the better.. if you were wondering. I love the expansion into mental/overall health and wellbeing, keep it coming you sick bastard.
Just taking a moment to appreciate how much of a star this video is my man. So much cool information, passed on such a unique and fun way. Thanks!
magic mushrooms alleviated my depression in a way words cant describe. now I take a hero dose of them once of year to keep everything in line.
honestly i trust Ryan's opinion over the majority of "lifters" i have listened to the years growing up, the only thing that makes this man different, is he is No BS and keeps it real with people. Dont stop what you're doing man!! Thank you!
I absolutely love how simply and effective you describe psilocybin
Ryan, I already appreciated you. Thanks for making this video. Thanks for making all of them. They all make me appreciate you even more. The dogs. Your thick wife. The training. And the things that affect training. It’s all awesome. Thank you.
Ryan..you sir..are BLESSED. Seeing the fur babies that you and wifey have taken into your family..had me bawling(I know..its gotta be some kind of hormonal imbalance) but it had me teared up at the kindness and selflessness you two have. Its a rarity nowadays. Honestly, I didnt pay attention to the rest of this video after seeing all the fur babies in your family. I want to start my own forever home rescue ranch one day. GOD Bless you guys..we need more like you two.
Me too. I could feel the happiness in that segment. That's exactly the way I feel. I've finally found happiness, and it's made me fear change, growing old and death. This video brought tears to my eyes. The worst part is that he validated my feelings, but gave no solution because... there is no solution.
Life is so short. I lost my sweet 17 year old Yorkie last year. I so loved that little girl. ...One small part of my happiness eroded, and it brings the realization that it's all slowly eroding.
God bless YOU! We need more people like you.
@@jasonk876 Thank you so much for the kind words. People who
protect and care for innocence when others have abandoned or abused them, are really a step above the rest. It also shows a tender side to their hearts and that takes strength. They are just my kind of people..ya know? I feel your pain on losing your fur baby. It's like losing a kid. It's not something you ever get over. I lost mine in 2017. Please remember the GOD made these fur babies and one day, you will see them again. I've heard stories of people whose heart stopped or they had died for a bit and they were revived, that said their deceased pets were helping them cross over. I've also heard hospice nurses say the same thing. I take comfort in that. GOD Bless
As someone who has been researching psychedelics for more than a decade, and interviewing psychedelic researchers for my channel for the last 5+ years, I want to congratulate you on this video. You did a great job!
However, a point of correction is that ketamine is not a serotonin agonist. It’s an NMDA-antagonist, meaning it works on the glutamate system not serotonin.
I watched your first video earlier today this is my second. I would consider you an excellent teacher because you make me laugh as you're teaching me something. I am 55 and been trying to work on my shoulders out of all the videos I watched your seems to be doing the best. But what made me subscribe to your channel was the fact that you adopted all those dogs thank you.
I don't remember what random rabbit hole journey I was on with CZcams when I stumbled across your channel Ryan, but I am beyond happy that I did. I 100% feel you on the waking up and feeling like "what the muther-eff happened" and feeling like time is passing me by. Your channel makes me laugh every video. Its like small vacation from life each time one comes along. Thank you for this!
Hey Ryan, love the video and as usual with your content the information is spot on and very entertaining. I wanted to point out that the mechanism of action in psilocybin and the reason for its therapeutic efficacy in treatment resistant depression is fairly well(not completely) understood. The Huberman Lab episodes with guests Dr. Robin Carthart-Harris and Dr. Matthew Johnson go into amazing detail on what is currently known about this amazing medicine. I also wanted to mention that the therapeutic models along side having therapists/psychiatrists present, use eye shades and a music playlist that ramps up in emotionality as the trip progresses. I think for people using psilocybin recreationally that are trying to obtain the mental health benefits should try to implement some of the aspects into their trip. For myself I also try to write down some of the things I want to think about or focus on while I’m tripping. For anyone interested, please be safe, thoroughly research this topic beforehand and start with lower doses before moving your way up to a heroic dose. Thank you again Ryan!
This is not what I expected when I clicked on this video but it sure was a refreshing and honestly I love the way you shoot and edit your videos. But as always thank you for being vulnerable with us.
Love the content, the way you don't fuck around in delivery, but the humour is great to.
Small insights into who you are makes it that you are a lot more real than others, great work from Australia 🇦🇺 👍

Might be one of my favorite videos of yours, the honesty about the subject as well as about yourself just hit different. Don’t know if it’s just where I was when I watched or how you laid it all out but thanks for sharing.
Also super awesome about all the pups you two took in!

I appreciate just the amount of time it must take to educate yourself on these things before even starting the video.
Love it! Very educational. Sweetest part was the wife and dogs. HILARIOUS watching you being high. GREAT message at the end.
Psilocybin mushrooms helped me quit nicotine. Half pack a day smoker for 10 years, and after a night of shrooming, I started to lose the craving for cigarettes. Quit cold turkey a week later, haven't touched one since then, over a year and a half ago.
Psilocybin definitely helped me see the world in a different perspective and helped me get out of a thought loop i had for months. Ofcourse this isn't for everyone, but for me it really made me change my life for the better.
Ever since I took my dose of shrooms, I appreciated the things around me more and it helped me figure out more what I wanted to do with my life. I think psychoactive drugs aren't for everyone, but if you want to experiment and change your perspective on things and know the possible dangers before taking it, it's a great way to change your life for the better
@kandy5129 You might consider checking out some of Timothy Leary's books. I first met Tim in mid-1970. My academic advisor was an old friend of his and introduced me to him. Could be worth your while to check him out as he had some keen life insights from a unique perspective. Note: The "Acid King" was staunchly anti-recreational drug use. He frowned heavily on the let's do some psychedelics and act silly crowd. All of Tim's trips were purposeful and intended exclusively for personal cultivation/improvement.
Do you have to go to a dispensary to obtain?
@@DirtyDemon917 Luckily I live close to the Netherlands where Psychedelic Truffles (Basically shrooms that are grown underground) are legal. So technically yes I did, although they are called head-shops there, but If you're not close to the Netherlands, I wouldn't know how to safely obtain them, sorry if this doesn't really help
@@kandy5129 thank you for your insight!
@@DirtyDemon917yes you can get them in the USA in certain states. Colorado and California are a few. Last resort would be grow your own. You’ll have a harvest within month and a half and you’ll have plenty left if done right. You can get everything you need online even the spores for the mushrooms.
Thick wife, many rescue dogs. Love the dream you're living and I'm striving towards. I haven't yet found my "youtube" in terms of success but I love and relate to your videos dearly. Thanks for the knowledge!
Found you recently and couldn't be happier with your content Brother. Enjoy your no BS take on fitness, nutrition, and lifting. Stand Tall Brother! 🇺🇲💪🏴☠️
I tried many things in the past. Once I figured out I was spiritually bankrupt and focused on my spiritual fitness with focus and top prority, everything else just fell into place. My personal relationship with Jesus is the "fix" I was looking for all along. Love the videos.
Bingo. What he's describing in this video is the same problem that every human being has ever had or will ever have, namely sin. We live in a fallen world. We suffer from anxiety, depression, alcoholism etc because we live in a fallen world and we are fallen beings. Even if there is a pill out there that takes away all health problems be it physical or mental, it won't take away our greatest problem and that is sin. Jesus Christ did that for any and for all who will turn from that sin and look to him to trust to save them. Someone can take all the drugs that they want but that's not going to stop what is guaranteed and that is death. What most people want is a drug that numbs them from the reality of this. But it's unavoidable. Fortunately God has the right prescription for our disease and that is Jesus and him alone
Unfortunately I have been on anti depressants for over 25 years because of PTS ( Im 51 ) All common therapy has done is taken the sharp edges off and subscribe pills. Luckily Ive been reading a lot about newer forms of alternative medication and therapy through the network of veterans. I really hope this will help me enough to finally get the rest and peace in my head to make me a happy grumpy old man. Your videos are one of the things that helped me going through tough times. Thanks m8.
Have you tried flush niacin?
@@lordmatthewanunnahybrid1356 I have never heard of that. Maybe we dont have it in Europe
This is the video I never knew I needed. Seriously, this can help people.

I'm constantly in mental default mode!
Always thinking about time when i was younger, music that associates with better times in my life etc.
Yes, I am on SSRI's, quite a lot!
Therapy should be free, it's awesome
Ryan, you have such an impeccable sense of humor
Good to see you back. Been missing your unique blend of humour and content
You rock Ryan 🤟!!! I find very useful your training tips and your right-from-the-hip approach
You are truly the greatest sir! Especially if you did shrooms and DMT for this video. I was on SSRI for almost 3 years and they just made things worse. Been off for about 4 months now and am still getting back to "normal" SSRI's are not for everyone. They made me suicidal
Totally, I've seen SSRI's work for some and dramatically not for others.
Sorry for your experience and hope you're not having those same feelings.
I was similar with Benzo's - tried those and they made things way worse for me.
Been macro-dosing psilocybin (more than micro, less than tripping balls) for a while now and it's really worked for me, again, not everything works for everyone but it did for me so might be worth a look?
Truly wishing you well on your mental health journey - it's hard but incredibly rewarding.
I had the same results from SSRIs as well. Stay strong.
@@paulfig7045 I've been microdosing psilocybin here and there and it's helped alot more than Effexor or Escitalopram ever did. Benzo's work alright for me but I'm always high or hungover so I'm not a fan of those either but again, they work alot better for me than SSRI's
My son is literally alive and thriving today in large measure to Ketamine
Bro, just on the first two minutes of the first of your videos now - wanna say that struggle for success, we feel it, I'm a commercial Diver, infancy of my career starting just shy of being 40 old. . . been trying everything I could to get something solid in life before then. really appreciate your candid attitude

haha same bro
Quitter! Lol jk
40 here. The mind doesn't allow me to go back to the places I've been doing drugs
Lol fuckin same bro
Chill guys, they said "drugs". DMT, Shrooms & Ganja are Not Drugs. Drugs are chemical, those are natural.
That recurring sensation of "WHAT THE HECK? HOW DID SO MANY YEARS GO BY?" is freakin' creepy. I'm 54 and I'm hearing about high school buddies passing, and it's enough to rattle anyone. In all seriousness, Ryan, start watching The Chosen. Resting in Jesus is the only way I've been able to fight off mortality anxiety.
Really enjoyed this. Another round of great content. Enjoy the success, stay humble and grateful.
Thanks for the video bro. Everyone in my life isn’t afraid of dying and i am. So i feel out of place sometimes. It made me feel better that others have the same fear
I don't think I've ever watched a more pointless video that completely avoided the premise of the title. Now I need to go develop a slightly healthier habit so I can increase my lifespan enough to get my ten minutes back.
If you really want to stop being afraid of dying, go to an Ayahuasca Ceremony. The ones in Costa Rica are 5 star hotels. Took my son there for his PTSD related issues. It worked wonders.
Expensive tourist traps for gringos.
Nice vid Ryan, and i realy like what you did with the lights in the ceiling!! Greetings from the Netherlands
Great content! Quality camera work, writing, authenticity and editing!!!!
Honestly a medium dose of mushrooms for me (3-6 grams) once or twice a year does the trick. Microdosing as mentioned is mostly a cruise control placebo effect. Do a bigger dose once in a while. Also tried lsd and dmt but haven't had the same kind of results
What’s high dose?
@@Lowe-life my medium dose can be a low dose for some and a high dose for others. No answer to that question. I've noticed that for me in order to function (be able to move freely/speak/etc), I keep it under 7g but I've seen people trip balls on 2g. Really depends. Trial and error.
Everyone has diff response for sure. That is for general population, a massive dose. I was just shocked a little
How the hell do you find a trustworthy source for shrooms?
@@Lowe-life I'm aware that I have a high tolerance but still I think doing a dose of 3+ grams gives you the full helpful experience!
I've had suicidal thoughts since I was 12-13 years old. As I got older they became more and more frequent & severe. I've always had a great life with some horrible moments sprinkled in. Overall, I shouldn't of been having suicidal thought 20x's a day. I was out of hope, therapy didn't work, pharmaceutical's didn't work. Then I started micro dosing and it 100% saved my life. If it wasn't for psilocybin I wouldn't be here right now.
Glad to hear Brotha!
Dude, I stoped this video so many times, trying to dugest this information. So good

If you did a 'heroic dose' now, I bet it wouldn't be anything like your teen experience.
Should I take DMT before, during or after lifting?
Yes
after. Hold the hit for as long as you can. Like, 60 seconds and the bigger the better. Time yourself holding it if you can. Get a comfy couch, weighted blanket and say hi to the elephant for me.
bro you shouldnt take it at all when trying to lift. Dmt isnt for lifting purposes its for those who want to be more spiritual lmao do your research
@@christiantrevino5608 Ofc it’s a possibility but if it’s not then it’s better to say than be sorry

I’ve liked you and your videos for a while but after this video I’m a fan. Good man !
hold up… dmt?🤣🤣🤣 yea that’s not necessary performance enhancing😭
I’m about the same age and occasionally have the same anxiety. I figure it’s mild PTSD from the mental torture a couple of women put me through.
I thought about trying DMT or Ayhuasca… but I’ve had better luck just focusing my mind with stoic philosophy, bushido, meditation, shooting sports, and weightlifting. I guess Goggins was right… I was just being a bitch. 😂
I sit and focus on the emotion in my body until it plays out like a song on a record and it eventually fades out. The trick is to not the let my mind extract the emotion out into thoughts and just observe the emotion and feel it until it's done.
Buddy if you got PTSD from a woman you might be fragile
just man up
