- Evenings and Mornings are the times for us couriers but I wanted to see how they actually differ and find out when the best time is to work for these food delivery apps by working one evening shift and then working the morning after, in this episode I worked a Saturday Morning Shift.
Yes i understand people work night shifts and they order when home from a shift.... i also work nights and @UberEats is a blessing after a long night!

I've got mad respect for people who work in these food delivery services, I always make sure to tip and leave a good rating for the driver and the food. Thank you for what you do for us :)
@SumOfIt have u worked as one?
@O.G Autistler they are just delievery people, they arent the founders of the fast food companies, not the government allowing the selling of the food to continue, just people working hard to get by. dont go pushing that shit on them.
@O.G Autistler yep sure whatever u think
Why tip though? Cost £2.30 for delivery and a extra £1.20 for service. Really pointless to tip them.
Y’all are so brutal in the comment section.😔
Hey man, I don't work in this sector but its interesting to see how our food is delivered and what you guys have to go through. Seems certain jobs tips are better to give in than others; keep safe and thank you for your hard work.
Yeah, we never think about how fucking hard it is to be a courier, they are true heroes and deserve way better treatment for the companies they are working for, here in Estonia couriers are treated like shit (I used to be one). Youre literally risking your life (especially on a bike) and overall have to deal with a very difficult job (navigating in cities, dealing with people, understanding where to enter a building and how to find the right place).
@@johannes1498 why are we using the word "hero" for a fast food delivery man. degenerates

As someone who works 2nd shift and doesn't even get home until 1 am, I really do appreciate places that are open 24-7
Like 711 lmao
I am the guy ordering burgers at 4Am because i have a remote job and I am crazy, thanks for your service
the weirdest delivery I've ever had to do was 35 of the individual tomato sauces. 16-gram ones. the house to drop off to was like something out of a horror film. scary af. looked like no one had lived there for a decade but the car was in the driveway and only 1 light on in the whole place. not a single sound though. i legged it after i dropped it at the door lmao
Lmao
maybe they were filming a low budget horror?
Sheeeeeiiiittt
you mean ketchup?
When I worked Uber I had to deliver to unmarked industrial buildings in the middle of a gated compound, to a doctor in the emergency lane of a hospital (as per her instructions don't ask me), countless apartment complexes where all I was given was the building number, to cars in a parking lot, people on a beach, literally over 200 meters of sand dune, inside a police station, inside a library.
One thing I learnt, is that old thing about "if you look confident you can go anywhere" really is true. As long as I have a bag of food and a confident walk I can breeze through any threshold, counter or gate. I've probably broken so many rules, possibly even trespassing laws, but they got their food and I've never been stopped.
Mad respect to you man working these shifts in the early morning. I remember I got a late night McDonald’s and didn’t tip the person because I didn’t like tipping but now I always tip because these people are honestly just mad and underpaid
Oh that person hated you for sure 😭
try being tradesmen lol delivering people coffee wtf
This is my first time seeing the perspective of a delivery person. Cannot thank you enough for your work, you guys should really be getting paid more!
Then give a bigger tip
No, they shouldn't - they choose their job and they put others at risk by their ignorance of road laws
@@Yerr_ItsNick It shouldn't be the job of the consumer to pay the providers employees. If you have ever learned about basic economics, you'd understand that these people should be getting paid more money. Supply and demand is an important thing that you should probably learn
@@Liam-zo4jm You're right, it shouldn't be but tips is where they make the majority of their profit. The easiest solution, other than wishing they got paid more is to give a bigger tip. At least you'd actually be doing something instead of just wishing they did.
@@rogueuniversities6866 hey look, an angry driver, don't worry cars don't have much longer in cities

Loving the video's, honestly could watch these all day, only down side is it makes me proper hungry 😂
Love the editing around 5:20-540. For a food delivery video it’s unique. I have been a Doordash driver for years but always admire the guys on bikes in cities. Of my 4755 deliveries I can only think of maybe 15 or so I didn’t get tipped on. I see in London this is not the case and it’s much different. I like the No carbon footprint and not having to worry about gas and vehicle maintenance. Even though I average about $27 per hour , only about $16 of that comes to me in the end. We are loving the content and Will be checking out your stuff tonight on the big OLED to get a real feel for the London delivery scene at night. Cheers from Western NY mate.
I live in Rural Ireland so this sort of job is unheard of for me, perhaps in Dublin but not in the sticks. The quiet ambience of London at night makes me appreciate night time living in general. Loved watching every bit of this video, a very fascinating insight. Cheers
And Cork, Limerick, Waterford, Galway!
Yeah Deliveroo is nuts in Dublin. Always drivers lingering around busy spots in town...
Dublin, - but also Galway, Cork, & Belfast.
Nice slick editing my friend👌🏻 just started watching your videos and I am hooked!! Your positive attitude really makes me smile. Keep doing you 💪🏻
Fair play to you for showing this video , Especially as most of your night time films show you objecting to taking McDonalds

Bro, with Uber pay, 1.5X is £4.80, 1.6X is £5.20 for deliveries under a mile (where I live anyway). After a mile then you get at least £1 extra per mile. Good work 👍

Yes man! Just found the channel love the hustle at 4:30 👌🏻 the Timelapse of you on the bike is 🔥
I used to be a cycle courier in Glasgow, taking parcel, letters and so on to various offices. It was back in 1997. I did it for one year, didnt miss a day, hail, rain, or shine. The pay was terrible, absolutely scandalous. £1.85 per drop, no matter how far. I gave it up as my throat was getting sore all the time for the deep breathing in the pollution. No electrically assisted bikes back then. When I think of the risks I took just to impress a client, totally risked my life every single day grabbing buses and HGVs etc to get a tow. Great to watch you doing it with all the gadgets to share it with us. Thanks for the effort in sharing.
this is super interesting, thanks so much for sharing! will definitely be tipping more often now, i have to say - this was eye opening to say the least!
Remember you get paid per mile so it’s £1.50 per mile doesn’t technically mean you get double
So if you did a extra mile and it was an extra £1.50 and you add 60% onto that it should’ve been an extra £2.30 which is more or less what it was
You also get paid for order pick up and drop off
Oh
always CHASING the multipliers, that's the spirit! Keep up the great work and cash big!
I find your videos very relaxing and therapeutic, Normally by the end of the night when I’m winding down I’m tuned in👍

I'm totally blind, and I enjoy what you and other Ubereats drivers do for us to get our food delivered! Thank you so much! And, yes, here in the U.S., tipping is mandatory.
Not mandatory, just customary
That would suck
tips mandatory? wtf, i have worked as deliveryguy but i never will ask for a tip, a tip is something that is extra, because i already get paid to deliver the food the tip is something that the person feels to give or not.
i dont know to say the word that i want to say in English sorry :v
Supposedly “mandatory” bc the driver will not pick up your food, unless tip is paid…. Dont know how it all works, since i pick up m own food, but there are videos about the issue
@@pak3ton I appologize for not clarifying what I meant. What I was meaning is, here in the U.S. if you can afford to tip, whether you're eating out or getting your food delivered, it's polite to tip someone. I am sorry for implying it was mandatory, I was going off of what others said, and that's completely my fault. I know that not everyone can afford to tip delivery drivers. Sorry for the confusion.
Superbly edited, not too slow and not too fast. I want to do this as well and not for the money, it's enticing especially at night since the streets are clear.

Genuine question why tip delivery drivers? I’ll tip barbers, taxis you name it, I’ve just never tipped delivery drivers. I wouldn’t tip the amazon driver, nor the guy in the warehouse. The delivery is literally the only part your paying for so why the tip?
@@ryanhall4659 I mean, generally speaking, tipping is a standard practice in a lot of the food industry e.g tipping a waitress. Obviously it differs from case to case whether that driver takes care with your food etc but the way I'm goin to start thinking about it is that it's somewhat of a luxury to have your food delivered right to your house and if I can make someone's day/night better by simply giving a little bit extra then I'll strive to do so.
@@ryanhall4659 I understand what you're saying also which is why literally until I watched this video, tipping never even crossed my mind like that for food deliveries
@@ryanhall4659 Wait you tip barbers? Trying to get in with them or?
@@ryanhall4659 In many cases, paying a few dollars extra in tips can lead to better service that far exceeds the monetary value of the few hundred cents. In addition, it is common practice for on-demand delivery services in the U.S. There is no legal obligation to tip, but double check all your orders for bodily fluids if you are the kind of person who does not.
*_This kind of work, to me, is very exciting because you're always on the road and going places and meeting new people everytime. you are by far the best delivery rider I have ever witnessed. For years now I've been using Uber eats and the drivers are hopeless in comparison. 9 times out of 10 they cannot find the address, they never leave their vehicle if in a car to look for the address either. They do not contact you, and I have to leave my house every time and walk around the roadsides till they drive past me. And if I dont leave my house to collect the food from the car they just cancel it and return the food to the restaurant.
the fact that you're actually going into the buildings, the lifts and delivering the food to the actual front door is unbeleievable to me! I think throughout the 3 years I have lived here I have had about 2 drivers who have delivered food to my door as advertised by the service. I'd honesty pay more if it meant they just brought the food to my house lol it's not hard. I cannot believe people dont tip you!
Also proud of you delivering foods by cycling!!
I do doordash and Grubhub in Tennessee and I gotta say. Driving around and picking up orders is so much a pain, but seeing your videos in England (sorry if I’m wrong) man your lucky to get them super close lol. I have to sometimes drive like 15 to 20 min to deliver. But I still love doing it.
I love watching these vids man, if I lived in a city like that I think id definitely try the experience
I do this in London too. Mostly Camden, West End, Marylebone etc. The whole 'remove your helmet thing' bugs the hell out of me. Sometimes they even want you to leave your helmet in the lobby. When this happens I straight up refuse and call the customer to come downstairs.

In Indonesia, this happened during Ramadhan since Sahur must be done before the Shubuh/Fajr Prayer. This of course causes several problems since if the delivery driver didn't get the food delivered in time, they may go out of work.

Man, I always tip. People should appreciate you up so early doing their delivery. Good vid mate
The guy who ordered all those drinks are what's wrong with society. These people abuse deliver drivers by expecting them to deliver all of those goods for a cheap £5 and don't even give a little tip.
Fair play to you for carrying all that weight on a bike mate you're a legend and show how much of an honest hard worker you are. Hats off to you. Wish you all the best success for your future bro 🙏🏼
More like Uber eats fucks it's drivers and throttles pay accordingly to ensure it's drivers dont make good money
How is that what's wrong with society? Some company posted a price and both the delivery person and customer accepted it. Why should the burden be on the customer to decide what the delivery person should get. It should be on the company to pay fairly (and the government to make sure companies pay fairly). It's the company that is abusive, not the customer... (that being said, because nobody wants to hold companies accountable, so people should just be nice and tip, but they are hardly the abusers...)
@@dertfert745 So you opened your statement by disagreeing with me but closed your statement by agreeing with me that people should tip more 🤷🏻♂️Seems like a semantic issue.
Of course it falls on the government and the companies, I mean at the end of the day these are whom set the pricing. However, as a collective society we still have moral obligation not to abuse systems put in place by governments and/or companies.
For me personally, I know how little they get paid for the work they do so I have no issue tipping people, but when I know majority of delivery drivers are on some form of bike, electric or motorbike and I'm trying to order a very large order, then best believe I will tip, because I know that I'm abusing the system. If I was to order from a larger supermarket, not only would you have to wait for a delivery slot but also pay the extra.
I use to work for UbberEats before and now working as UberEats driver again because I actually missed the jobs. It is not so much the pay but I don't know, I just love the job. Last few shift I got a very low rating because I left all the food by the door. I thought it was the way supposed to be due to the pandemic but because of it, UberEats gave me a low rating. It will be better next time.

Kudos to Patrick Star for keeping this guy on his toes. I have a McDonald's at my palace, so it's always a treat to stop by and get a Big Mac after such an important meeting. Dennis Rodman loves their milkshakes. That being said, really bugs me how these people in apartments make you come all the way up to them. Like is it really THAT hard to go downstairs to meet the driver? Smh this society
McDonald's fun fact: 69 million people around the world eat at McDonald's every day. More people eat at McDonald's, than the amount of people who live in the UK! And the British monarch owns a McDonald's through the Crown Estate. The Banbury Gateway Shopping Park in Oxfordshire is part of the Crown Estate, and within that shopping park...is a McDonald's!
