Miki's La Venda is the most underrated song of ESC 2019
Is it just me, or is the genre of music just becoming more and more the same each year?
We have Fuego from last year, also from Cyprus, we have the San Marino in the same genre as last year, United Kingdom clearly never wants to win so they send in the same song, just sung by a different singer, and we have a bunch of culturally influenced songs as well.
God, i miss the days where the difference was huge and you could actually remember the song easily from each country ._.
oh AWS last year, Iceland this year, French song 2 years ago, Italy this year, balkan songs are the same, Norway and Poland tried edm music, zoe 2 years ago?, Italy last year, 2017-2019 songs from Portugal, country from Netherlands ... I don't think that all songs were/are good but aren' like anothers. On the other hand, winners of 2005, 2011, 2014 had orginal songs?
Hope you do not mind me saying, but I just love all the music from San Marino. They are never likely to win, but it just nice! I always have liked the music they bring. It is No-nonsense! And actually that... is lightning.

As a Hungarian I'm pretty sad Papai Joci's song went under the radar because the lyrics themselves are very sweet and emotional. So sad my language is barely spoken outside of Hungary :(

At the end ESC 2019 is a good year with many good songs, different genres and great artsits. My favorites (in random order) are Greece, Netherlands, Slovenia, Armenia, Switzerland, Cyprus, Azerbaijan, Portugal, Italy, U.K, Belgium. I also like very much Norway, Spain, Hungary, Malta, Sweden, Czech Rep., Denmark, Austria, Serbia, Albania. I can't wait for the rehearsals, the semi finals and the final. Eveything can change on the stage. Good luck to all the countries.

Personally i prefer them to perform songs with their native language - i find it as more individual and interesting. while everyone is singing in english its just like typical show and i think that eurovision is loosing this specific vibe

I'm from Romania if that is what you're asking. Salvador Sobral is the 2017 Eurovision winner and he is from Portugal. Either way I don't know why you guys ask since this is only (should be*) about music and not nationality/nationalists.
What I always want to ask those with this mindset, if you'd oblige me, is do you think there's a problem with enjoying something despite it being generic or somewhat vapid?
Your salvador sobral is snooty and arrogant. Just because he happened to come up with one random good song (which I did not like and I thought Apollo from switzerland was way better both in terms of lyrics and tune) he thinks he can dictate what music people should like. He even said in an interview before 2018 eirovision that if Netta won he would hand her over the prize with a "fake smile" because he thinks she sucks. Well Netta won and salvador got his much deserved slap on the face.

My favourites so far, Hungary and The Netherlands. It’s a shame as the years have gone by more entries are in English. What I love about Eurovision is the various countries being showcased. It is looking at a representation of language and culture. This year of what I see here is a modern representation and the contest seems like entries are moving away from more traditional sounds and visuals. Eurovision has definitely evolved. I will still feel nostalgic watching previous years and I am excited for all the contestants this year. 🥰🥰🥰
