I have played the gun carriers before, if you bush it up (cringe but necessary) and hide on a hill in a open map you become very dangerous.
It angles so damn good tho.

@josku5 I don't think it should be on par to be able to fight BMP-1s.
Though the Jumbo 76 is perfectly qualified to fight the Tiger 1.
Not the Tiger 2 on the other hand is a 50/50. Though I don't think it should basically be on the same BR.
I'm also of opinion that the 75 Jumbo would be just fine at 5.0
@@josku5 For real, for a long time you'll be stuck with Shermans and most of them are NOT on par with what other nations got.
Could say it's just historically accurate, because at the European theatre, Shermans used to be good infantry support tanks, but bad at actual tank battles. (far as I know at least)
@@aiedenoldstien9751 I meant the M4A3 76. Basic sherman with no armour and just the basic 76mm gun. On the Jumbo 76, yeah it is on par with the Tiger I. Shouldn’t be the same br as the early King Tiger though, and as you said be able to fight bmp’s.
The fact this can now see the IS-3 in a full uptier is insane to me. I still can't even begin to wonder what goes on in Gaijin HQ.
Stat based balancing could work but they need to include some sort of stat to account for skill involved in a kill. Even if its some simple calculation like skill multiplier = shell pen/armor thickness
right now the t20 is absolute garbage but there are veterans still getting it a high kdr while the noobs just avoid it entirely
@caralho5237 Absolutely agreed; I'm planning on steering clear of it mostly to spare my wallet haha. Fingers crossed something similar to this gets added in the future.

@@evanmatthews2159 This could work, but some players main a nation and have a full lineup of either OP or, in some cases, shitty vehicles. In such cases, the performance deviation will be minimal. Also, some players simply suck with every vehicle, good or bad, due to abysmal situational awareness.
Not to mention how a lot of players will just avoid shitty vehicles entirely, giving you little relevant data about them.
Im thinking that since wt already has a complex armor penetration system coded in, they could just include a "kill difficulty" stat to every kill, involving distance, gun penetration/armor thickness and the 2d armor profile relative to the shell upon firing. Quite simply: The same system that highlights which parts you can and cant pen in arcade mode, but invisible to the player and used by the system to calculate the difficulty of a kill with the difficulty being proportionate to the red area in the player's scope view. Should take some minimal computation. Of course this will be quirky and require balancing for special situations, but it should tell Gaijin which vehicles are only doing well because of player skill and which are doing well because theyre better
@@caralho5237 You'd just want to be looking to see if kill rates are spiking in aggregate over other similar vehicles in a given skill bracket.

1. Incorrect Penetration (the gun that was designed to UFP a Panther cannot, in fact, UFP a Panther)
2. Way too high in BR.
It's essentially an American Tiger 1 but slightly better in every way and that somehow justifies it being the same BR as the Tiger 2, T26E5, T26E1-1, and T34 Heavy.

@@DubiousFIN since the Tiger P was moved to 6.7. I can say 4 of my 10 matches includes Tiger 2s the rest are Jumbos, IS, Tiger 1s and. Strange this happens when im playing those 2 vehicles but with anything else it's another day in War Thunder.
A lot of the BR changes were ridiculous, but the biggest crime of all is the SAV 20.12.48 not getting moved in BR at all. I mostly play higher tiers because that's what I'm grinding, but I go down to 3.7/4.0 because that's all my friends have and it's just SAV hell.
I've said for a long time that they need to remove that stupid broken vehicle. And I don't mean remove from sale how they did but get it out of the game. It's not implemented how it performed in reality, it's one of maybe 4 or 5 tanks in pretty much the entire lower BR's that has decent penetration and overpressure and is for sure the only one that fires a round every 1.2 seconds that isn't an AA vehicle. If you're not in something heavily armored you're up shit's creek if you run into one that is aware of you. While it is susceptible to air and .50cal machine guns, it just never should have been added. It's a balancing nightmare. Gaijin are run by morons though.
@@adamg7984 It’s stupidly broken. It gets Sherman 75 levels of pen (about 104mm) with a 1.2 second reload. The ready rack is small. 7 isn’t big. But unlike tanks that have similarly good reloads and small ready racks (like the French Somua SM), it has APHE, with insane HE filled, pretty much guaranteeing a one-shot kill. It seems quiet too. I never hear a SAV coming

I truly believe Gaijin has some kind of vendetta against some American WW2 tanks, there's so many tanks that are hilariously worse armor and gun wise against their German 'equivalents' yet sit at a same or even greater BR

They'll purposely forget to add things to the tanks, remove random features, or just grossly raise the BR or the tanks while doing one of the other to things.
I mean like for the sake the Bradley got Spall liner, but it's to most useless spall liner.
Then there is the whole drama with the DPU Abrams. They won't ad it because of 5 prototypes, meanwhile the new event tank only has 1 prototype, but is Russian.

You should play the STA. It has the 40x scope from BF4 as an optic. You actually have to use the binoculars at close range otherwise you’ll be observing your enemies metallurgical structural composition of their tank.
I'm sure plenty of other American mains would love a video on the T26-E1-1, big gun, big armor, and big fun against German mains

even just having a expert crew makes it a lot of fun, reload becomes 13 seconds which is bearable
M4A3(76)W HVSS, but slightly lower to the ground, with better mobility and worse armor. Better than all Shermans. Better than all Panthers. So says Gaijin, in their infinite wisdom.
I remember having so much fun with this thing in the 5.7 lineup back when I first got it. Those were the days. I can't wait until it gets sucked up into the 6.7 black hole with the 76mm Jumbo and T25 too.

It's funny, but it also doesn't change the fact that it's horrendously over tiered in BR. The thing is a a more responsive version of the M4A3 76.2mm armed Sherman. It shouldn't be higher than the M18.
He has the advantage nobody is expecting to see a T20 in that fight so they're busy staring in bewilderment as he pulls out the tree and bonks them.
Almost none of it is related to the tank though, most of it is related to the people he faces.
In the video most of his kills are ambush kills.
He could've gotten the exact same kills with any other tank with a 76mm gun in the same positions.
Someone at gaijin is going to see him kill the IS-3 and move the T20 to 7.0 in response

I was in an AB game yesterday with a 5.7 lineup. The other team had plenty of 6.7 vehicles.
Three a&&holes on my team showed up with 1.7 m22s, got killed and quit !
The T20's armor is really weird. The turret face is even more troll than that of KV1's in my experience (both playing it and against it).
A potent gun and very good forward and reverse speed, coupled with a low profile make the tank surprisingly good and fun to play.
That makes me wonder how ganjin never touched the T25 after they removed its stabilizer
I'll admit the turret face can be trolly, but trollier than the KV-1? hell nah dude. KV-1 is just absolute bullshit to fight against.

Now it's nearly a full BR ahead of those, while bringing literally NOTHING else more than...IDK...a gas tank that fonction basically as a mini spall-liner?

NO fucking STAB, innexistant turet elevation, abysmal depression, rear mounted turret that prevents you from hulldown positions (90% of the game, so?), weak pen that makes you close to useless past 5.0

As a thorough T20 enjoyer I must stress I have no clue what makes it so much better to play then the Sherman(it's not just the reverse gear), it just is.

It's basically the equillibrium between m18 and sherman.
You aren't paper thin or open top like the m18.
But you aren't slower than a brick like the sherman.
I've always said you should play shermans like they are a light tank with none of the mobility.
And the T20 is essentially, a light tank (for it's BR)
Sure you might take a shot once or twice albeit very rarely.
but realistically, anything can kill you in one shot without even aiming for any kind of weakspot whatsoever. Just like the sherman.
but unlike the sherman, the T20 is small, and maneuverable.

I’d honestly like to see you taking the T20 to increasingly high BRs (starting at 6.7 and going up) and seeing where it REALLY starts to suffer. I shed a tear for a T20 at 7.3
You should try the Wiesel 1 A4, it can be rough but also very fun ratting around the big tanks and ambushing them.

I suck with it, mainly because I am rather smooth in the brain department, but it's still a blast to play.
I frankly agree with you. Gaijin's balancing needs to be based less heavily on statistics and more on the relative armor, firepower and mobility with every tank/ground vehicle. Like when they decided to increase the BR of the jumbo 76. When making that decision instead of being like "according to the statistics" they needed to be like "according to the relative armor, firepower, mobility and the statistics of heavy tanks at the battle rating, the jumbo is performing above average to a noticeable degree. On analysis of match replays we notice blah, blah, blah" the amount of times i play a tiger or tiger 2 and watch my entire team die within 3 minutes of the game starting is scary. Especially considering you have tiger 2's being out played by shermans, hellcats and other 76 equiped vehicles. Ik people will say boohoo to me for complaining about the jumbo 76 being 6.3 when the tiger was moved to 6.0 but the jumbo's move was unwarranted considering German ground vehicles, up until recently, have had the battleratings of their midrank vehicles lowered repeatedly. Examples being the jadgtiger being moved to 6.7 from 7.3, the jadgpanther being moved to 6.0 and then recently to 6.3, it initially was a 6.7. The tiger H1 was 5.3 for the longest time. What im getting at is that they shift allll these tank ratings around en masse instead of taking their time and actually study the situation and that leads to matches being wildly imbalanced quite often. Ik why they choose to do it this way its easy, fast and it gives the appearance, to the community as a whole that they care, but in reality its lazy, cheap, and it may make a nation relatively stronger than others which drives players to play, grind or buy premiums for said nation while its temporarily stronger, so in all its a huge money making slimeball tactic.

Nice, the T20 is one of my favorite medium tanks, unfortunate that it was uptiered, but you should definitely play the super hellcat, big gun on fast chassis

That's because it's about on par with the Hellcat. A flanker can overperform with a good player but it's like how the EBR 1951 is at 5.3 despite being about on par with the Chaffee, AMX-13 FL11 and the Puma. How it's that high continues to baffle me because it struggles to side pen a lot of tanks at 4.3-6.3 and is a full BR higher than most comparable vehicles. The T-20 has enough mobility to play a similar role and despite it's mediocre gun it's offset by flanking abilities, which is also what Spookston is great at. The thing really shouldn't be above the Hellcat, just like how the EBR 1951 shouldn't be above the Chaffee or AMX-13 FL11.
That M18 had the ragdoll physics of a dead body in a RubixRaptor video. 🤣

I just watched the old t20 video yesterday by chance and seeing the BR changes right after was quite funny
It's always like this, Spookston starts the video saying Gaijin's BR changes are awful, "X vehicle cannot compete at that range", then by the end of the video he's got nukes at every match.
Us players : use mobility, flanks, weak spots to our advantage cuz our armor sucks and our gun can't one shot

I'm sure you would enjoy playing Lancia Ro 100/17. It has all your favourite characteristics: it is big, it is slow, it has terrible turning radius, no armour and slow shell coupled with long reload. But it atleast has big boom shells.
I think Spookston should play the squadron vehicle M901, which has a a tall ATGM launcher(TOW) which makes firing over cover very easy. And it is based on a very speedy and small chassis of the M113 APC.
