Hello, what's the name of the first song?
What's the name of the ending song?
I feel like in this story Pandora shouldn’t be the villain. Pandora was literally made to have curiosity. The gods made her to be that way. It shouldn’t be her fault that she was the one that opened the box.
I feel that the Gods knew that prometheus's brother wouldn't accept gifts so they planned all of this to punish the titan brothers further. That's how petty and cruel they are
ladynikkie right.
@@ladynikkie that's why they made her curious
That was the plan. They knew eventually she'd try to look in the box, thus cursing not just the titans but all of humanity on earth
And they also TOLD her not to open the box. Curiosity is no excuse for being insubordinate. Shes definitely the villian.

Yeah, interesting. It could be that the myth of genesis was influenced by the Greek mythology as we know the may biblical stories were created around the cultural environment of Greece.
the bible copied plenty from paganisms
@@jkahgdkjhafgsd True, Christianity could be seen as a combination of paganism, traditional Judaism and mythology.
@@HegemonicMarxism what if every religion is inspired by the monotheistic one, aleggedly it being the oldest? what if it's the same thing distorted by different factors?
@@TheGabit I don't know "what if" because it's not. The monotheistic religion isn't the oldest though. The oldest religion known is Hinduism which is politheistic. Also, the shamanic practices which are the most rudimentar and primar form of spirituality are not monotheistic. So, if there was a major old religion throughout others were derived based on certain factors it wouldn't be monotheistic. The monotheistic concept was formed in the abrahamic religions which are most more recent than the Egyptian, Babylonian or Sumerian mythological traditions.

Stories of the first "woman" always made "curious" female the cause of impurity in humanity. I'm not surprised that many societies held social stigma that woman shouldn't study or pursue knowledge up until the late 1900s, with all these preceded preaching that try to put woman in her place.
Personally, I think "curiousity" is an inherantly human quality because why are we even here if we do not want to learn more.
Same with Eve and the apple.
Totally agree

That’s really an interesting take on the ending. Typically, at least when I’ve heard the myth, hope was seen as a good thing. It was taken as a symbol of well...hope. It’s seen as good. But the way u described it was a complete 180°, describing how it just extended the suffering with a few occasional moments of bliss. I like that!
Facts
Friedrich Nietzsche - Human, All Too Human
Section Two: On the History of Moral Feelings - Aphorism # 71:
Hope. Pandora brought the jar with the evils and opened it. It was the gods' gift to man, on the outside a beautiful, enticing gift, called the "lucky jar." Then all the evils, those lively, winged beings, flew out of it. Since that time, they roam around and do harm to men by day and night. One single evil had not yet slipped out of the jar. As Zeus had wished, Pandora slammed the top down and it remained inside. So now man has the lucky jar in his house forever and thinks the world of the treasure. It is at his service; he reaches for it when he fancies it. For he does not know that that jar which Pandora brought was the jar of evils, and he takes the remaining evil for the greatest worldly good--it is hope, for Zeus did not want man to throw his life away, no matter how much the other evils might torment him, but rather to go on letting himself be tormented anew. To that end, he gives man hope. In truth, it is the most evil of evils because it prolongs man's torment.
One of my favourite stories.

Zeus was definitely a genius
He managed to turn the optimistic element of Hope into a pessimist one

Athens saying medusa a villian when she created her like bruh
The medusa story actually has several versions.
In one telling, Medusa was a vain and spoiled woman who declared she is prettier than Athena and demanded Athena's statue be replaced with her own.
In another story Medusa was not human to begin with, rather she is one of the three gorgons, beside Stheno and Euryale.
Crazy how hope would be inside as well. Never knew about that part and it was the best kicker to the story.
❤
I love your stories! Wish they were a bit longer. Do you have Spotify? X

I love this channel... Its the best
I've waited for this video
Suddenly I remembered what my teacher said to my class 'You people are the contents of the pandora box and when your time ends in this school the box will be opened to the world' That time we were dumbfounded and doesn't understand what she said we thought inside the box were gifts for the humanity and we didn't bother looking up for it. Just today something about pandora box came up on my yt shorts and and I remembered what my teacher said that day I searched for this and found this💀💀💀.

Those are the true teachers....
I didn't know until this point that Prometheus's and Pandora's story were connected
Hell's yeah bruh, just like the rivalry of Athena and poseidon are connected to medusa's backstory and medusa's children. PLUS how the aegis that zeus had given to athena that was modified by the goddess (the shield with medusa's head that brands like to use)
great job man, i am fascinated! what is the source of informations that you use for videos?

Hope was found at the bottom of the box. Hope gave strength to man not to give up his life when facing evils and obstacles that afflict him. With hope zeus managed to extend the punishment imposed on men, indefinitely.
Was he wrong?
Great video! Well done my fellow creator!

i found it so strange how this story is equivalent to adam and eve story.
Facts facts facts
It's not strange, this version of the story is the post medieval one that turned it into the story of Adam and Eve. Pandora literally opened the pithos straight away in the original because she was created to bring the evils into the world and she did exactly what she was told to do.
Originally, it was Pandora's Jar not a box. Pandora's box was just a mistranslation.
❤
So he gave them hope only so that they endure suffering for longer!? Wow, Zeus's is petty.
But genius
I'm sure this has been noticed, but Pandora is given a Jar, not a box.

How is pandora the first woman while Prometheus already created humans????
@Baby Nunu in 0:17 you can see female human
@@superchickendinner9023 No in that panel they are all dude. Just some have long hair.
@@3triplezero0 then we should call pandora the first female human
And I think that will make sense
Haphastus or I'm wrong created pandora
First woman created by gods. Humans were created by Prometheus and his brother.
Hope must be evil as well if it was also in the box.
Elpis wasn't evil. She stayed there because it meant that she's still hope in the midths of crisis, if she left or she was given permission to leave. The world and humanity would crumble because it meant, if you give up hope, you're giving up on your life and humanity. It would mean the end of civilization
@@gleamingandshining971 I don't know what you are trying to say.
In some versions hope WAS specifically described as the last and worst plague of all, making humans willingly prolong their own suffering in hopes that somehow things would get better for them, which obviously never happened.
You could also interpret it from a yin yang philosophy. You can't have a box full of the world's Evils without a little Good.

To this day we are still afflicted
even pandora releasing evil form the box.. she found something powerfull force : hope

The last evil to come out of Pandora's box... is what man suffers of the most.

Greece etc.( You could reply thanks for liking my comment 😄😊)
That cursed box made Pandora crazy? But Curiosity consumed her soul.
The version I'm familiar with is the box belonged to Epimetheus because otherwise what difference would it make whether or not he accepted Pandora or not.
That makes sense. I was a little confused until I read your comment.
It was hope that Kratos used in order to destroy Zeus!😎
💜💜💜💜💜
Will you show monkey king
Yesssssss
So it's basically a version of Eve and Adam
Without hope there would be no suffering and people would give up so hope is the worst thing in the box
So hope too is a punishment.!
Ironically, *YES* . 😪💒🦸♀️👨🌾
Yep
actually no
The goddess of Hope, Elpis was inside that jar/box. She can't go unless a child of man decides to let her go, letting Elpis go means you give up on being alive, the world will suffer without no solution nor answer.
@@gleamingandshining971 thats why Greek mythology was civilized and mordern thinking ,they had answers and thinkers to make a bad event reasonable.Even gods were not spared of wraths for their doings and thats why they acceted Jesus (who suffers punishment )easier and earlier.Feeling enlightened by these stories.
I LOVE THE NAME PANDORA
KRATOS: FACE ME FATHER!!!!!
Wait a minute...
if Seuz wants to punish human
why he also puts "hope"?
Didn't he only want their suffering?
Well it’s hard to say it all lies with interpretation.
- The Good Hope: Many interpret that Zeus would think that all the evils and maladies were very powerful, too powerful. In order to balance it out he put hope as source of good so that humanity CAN have a chance despite all the atrocities.
- A Bad Hope: Others assume that Hope was to prolong suffering and incur ignorance. Zeus thought that by having humanity hopeful they would allow evil to exist and they could only hope and not accomplish.
It really depends on your interpretation, however I myself tend to be hopeful and focus on the former.
@@S-payanage I see. It seems though in either case Seuz himself didn't do much though than to sit on his realm while watching them be hopeful though 😭😭😭😭😭😭 to that thing.
Poor humans, if only there's at least a story where a deity truly comes down to solve them despite the chaos that the humans have.
The only one that wanted their suffering was hera cause she hates men so she gave pandora curiousity to open the box and unleash everything on people
One thing wrong here. It wasn't a box, never was. It was a pithos, a jar.
One thing about the story I don't get, when Pandora opened the box the evils left and that caused them to affect Humanity but Hope stayed in the box so Humanity had hope? Shouldn't she have left the box as well to give Humanity hope?
Any dps Bokaro student here for asl??
