House Dayne just seems like the coolest Dornish house tbh. I mean they practically have a lightsaber and are well known for the most badass knight that ever lived in the seven kingdoms. And naming your seat "Starfall" is simply amazing. I would personally love to be the "lady of Starfall" just for the sound of it.

Making Jon Snow a Dayne makes a lot of sense considering he needs Dawn more than anyone and embodies what it takes to be named sword of the morning more than anyone we've met thus far.
They had Valyrian features long before Valyrians came to Westeros. I believe that Dawn is Lightbringer, and that an ancient member of house Dayne was Azor Ahai. His successors were Swords of the Morning.
Sophia Wilson I know that they aren't Valyrians, but they look like them.
I believe that Nissa Nissa was a Dayne, and that the sword was returned to her family in honor of her sacrifice, her death via stabbing through the heart... Or forged in the heart of a fallen star.

I like the theory that Ashara Dayne is the mother of Jon Snow, and Ned/ Brandon Stark his dad. So Jon Snow is able to become the sword of the dawn, gets Dawn (Lightbringer) and becomes Azor Ahai. The bleeding star in the prophecy is Ashara, who is hurt.

If Brandon would be Jon father, he possably married Ashara on the iland of faces. This makes Jon the heir of Starfall and the North, but the Dayne´s dont´t want a Stark as heir. So Ashara fakes her death to bring Dany to Essos, while Ned hides Jon.

Rawrist My vote goes for House Greyjoy. These guys are freaking nuts and i really wanna hear your thoughts on Euron Greyjoy and Victorian Greyjoy.
Rawrist I love the intrigue of House Dayne having a Sword that isn't Valaryian Steel but just as good if not better. To think that it is so revered that Ned brought it back instead of trying to keep it. Granted Ned died because he had too much honor. Anyway... I like the diversity of two Houses at a time!

The Sword Dawn was actually forged by Ser Pounce himself using his own magic and that's why it glows and the way the sword is picked is Ser Pounce sneaks off to Dorne and picks the Sword of the Morning

Hey, I really enjoy all of your videos about the Game of Thrones series. I especially like how in depth you get with all of the info, and how you break each house, dragon, region, etc down. It is very enjoyable, educational, and fun. If it's not to dufficult, I would like you to do 2 houses per week or go really in depth with just 1 house.

I found this video really really fascinating because hearing about this house is awesome, i would really like to hear about Arthur Dayne's history and life before his death at the Tower of Joy

+dorsal 2008 won't happen, Ice was melted into two swords remember. One became the sword that was given to Joffrey and the other for Jaime Lannister which eventually was given to Brienne

+dorsal 2008 ohh lol yeah. However, that flashback should've been done in season 1 when Ned Stark was encarcerated in the dungeons. That is when he has that flashback. However, if the TV producers can somehow fit that into the actual show considering how far in the plot is, it will be interesting

The seat of the cadet branch of House Dayne is High Hermitage. Hermitage was Andrew Jackson's plantation home lol. I'd love to see House Velaryon next.
Regarding the next house: One at a time please, I agree with Steve French that it will give a more thourough go through and it is easier to follow for the viewer as there are so many facts and details. I am sure you will make a good pick ;)

Great video! I love GOT history and House Dayne is one I've been curious about. I think you should alternate between the 2 highest polling houses in order to keep things interesting.

Would the duel between Ned and Arthur be the closest thing to a lightsaber fight in A Song of Ice and Fire? Ice vs Dawn, now that is a legendary fight! Great video as always Rawrist, and in my opinion I think you should do one house, hopefully, the next one is House Stark :D

If they only steal (We do not Sow, blah blah), who do they steal from and what do they think of the people who keep shops in their towns? There must be shopkeepers in the town right?

Interesting Theory... Anything dealing with House Dayne is interesting. What if house Dayne is more than meets the eye.
A young prince from a founding family of Valeria, sees a star falling from the sky, that cries a violet trail. He leaves everything he knows to follow it. He finds it in the red mountains of Dorne and builds a castle around it to hide it. The star holds even greater magic than dragons and a great secret. The secret mages of House Dayne are born.
Thousands of years later another prince of House Dayne, an evil greedy prince follows a strange dream, to Dorne in an effort to to find the power to rule the freehold of a now great Valeria. He does indeed find the power, but is turned away. He goes back to Valeria and exposes his knowledge of the great mages. There is secret so great that the mages of Starfall, gather and create the Fall of Old Valeria, so the secret can be kept.
Still later the Targaryens, a lesser house of old Valeria come to Dorne with their dragons to conquer, but even they are mysteriously turned away.Maybe they gave fealty to House Martel just to keep their secret.
Just a theory, but House Dayne is very interesting indeed...

I haven't read the books, but I was just curious. If House Dayne was sworn to House Martell, why didn't Arthur Dayne insisted on protecting Elia Martell rather than Lyanna Stark during Robert's Rebellion. Advance Thank You 's for the answers!
As Kingsguard, he's technically no longer sworn to House Martell, only House Targaryen.

I think splitting your time would be best as it gives the viewer more variety. :) Also, I'd advise saving Greyjoy's for late winter, as they seem to be centrist to the new season's plot. I.e. Euron Greyjoy.

About the wielder of Dawn, I don't think the knight himself would be a part of the decision process. It must be a committee of some kind that decides who is worthy. I see a worthy knight as a humble man. Bragging or playing himself up seems beneath The Sword of the Morning. Just my thoughts.

+Darth Slayer Same. Ser Barristan has to be my favourite. It is strange how a lot of GoT show fans seem to underrate him. He was kind of 'nerfed' and given underwhelming scenes. Being killed off so ridiculously soon on the tv adaptation, in disappointing circumstances, for shock value, that was indeed silly. Such needless waste. If he was badly injured and managed to recover, then he'd still be able to kick ass later.

I am a believe that sward of morning is a lightbringer and that Jon is Asharas and Neds son. And that he is the one to hold the sword. Is he worthy? Yes, more then anyone I think.
