Your channel is excellent! It's amazing! Your video is great! The world is unparalleled! Learn from you!
Many thanks @Withabike! Truly appreciate you taking the time to watch our video and for the wonderful comment. We have plenty of videos starting way back in Alaska if you haven't seen them. Take care and happy cycling to you! ~Ron & Petra
Great vid again. Nicaragua looks like a place I’d like to visit. Pedal on you two!
Hi, just enjoying some of your previous videos and learning from your experience on equipment.
Thanks for sharing.
If I may, I notice that you always are wearing a wide brim hat for the sun.
I do too, but was always a conflict between wearing a helmet.
I found a product called 'da-brim' which fastens onto a cycling helmet.
I have just got the sporty model and love it.
Just wanting to keep you both safe on your travels.
Best wishes for future adventures 😊🚴🖐️
Hello Jsiedlecki! Thank you for watching and happy you're enjoying the videos. As for wearing or not wearing helmets, we choose to not wear them. In our early days (many years ago) of bicycle touring we would wear them and not wear them. Then they basically became dead weight since we found ourselves not wearing them at all. I guess putting it in perspective, we spend most our time on quiet back country roads cycling at 9 or 10 mph and never once have we just fallen off our bikes. If a vehicle were to hit us from the rear traveling at 40, 50, or more miles per hour, we highly doubt that cheaply made plastic helmet will be of much use, so we choose comfort and protection from the sun. Take care and happy cycling. ~Ron & Petra
So nice to follow you along the trip, but unfortunately I have caught up with your videos and now need to be patient - no binge watching anymore
Soooo looking forward to Costa Rica, love this place. Pura vida!
I always wanted to cycling from Alaska to Argentina but I don't have the guts to do it , after watching this video I gonna give it a try , thanks for sharing such experience, stay safe
Hello Carlos! Thank you for following along. The only thing we can say is, "GO FOR IT!" You're going to have a wonderful time and it will be something you never forget. The kindness of strangers around the world is an amazing experience. However, with that being said, it's not always enjoyable and you will have rough days and this is totally normal. When you begin your adventure, please let us know so that we can follow along and if you have any questions, please feel free to ask. We'll do our best to answer you. Until then happy cycling and all the best. ~Ron & Petra
Hey Ron! Glad to see you are living the life! Stay safe and take care.
Hello Tom! It's great to hear from you! Thank you for checking us out!! No complaints here, life is been pretty good so far, but I know I'll have to return to the "normal" life down the road. ;-) Until then take care ~Ron
This video is awesome, very useful as I’m planning to be there in a bit! Thanks guys ❤
Many thanks Carla! Enjoy your adventure and we wish you all the best there. ~Ron y Petra
great video, thanks for posting. will look in to nicaragua for my next trip.
Hello Biking Places! Thank you for checking us out and following along. Yeah Nicaragua was a pleasant surprise, but a pain in the butt crossing their borders. If you carry a drone with, please remember if they are not allowed and if they see it (they x-ray the bags you carry into the inspection office), it will be taken. Take care and happy adventures ~Ron & Petra
It's a great pleasure to be able to watch your progress here. Your optimism and calm attitude is an inspiration. All the best for the kilometre's to come, we'll be watching ;) greetings from cold Poland from a fellow cyclist!
Thank you Homer for the kind words. Truly appreciated and we happy to have you follow along from beautiful Poland. We've cycled Poland twice and both times were wonderful. Lots of trees and forests in Poland! Take care and happy cycling to you. ~Ron & Petra
@@PedalPowerTouring Hey what happened to the other videos? We all want to see the costa rica and then down into south america it's been four months strange
Thanks!
William buddy, thank you so much. Truly truly appreciate the huge compliment and happy you're still following along. Your friends Ron & Petra
Hermosa Nicaragua saludos desde México
Very nice. Thanks for the tour scenery. Happy Holidays to you both.
Hey there 1980Dog! Thank you for watching and for following along. Happy Holidays to you as well my friend and see you down the road. :-) Happy cycling! ~Ron & Petra
Thank you for sharing your journey with us. Your wife did a great job narrating the video. Glad you guys are safe and enjoy your adventure.
Hola Jose! Thank you for following along and for the wonderful kind words. Happy to hear this and Petra is smiling. We really have enjoyed our adventure so far cycling through Mexico and Central America and we are pretty sure South America will be just as amazing. Take care! ~Ron & Petra
Very nice. All those colorful houses and churches look so inviting. And that volcano...it looks like you are right at the edge of it, that's pretty crazy! Keep on pedaling. Thanks for sharing.
Hola Artep! Thank you, thank you! Yes for sure, the colorful buildings and churches are very nice. Granada was our favorite though, but Leon had a unique vibe as well. The volcano was nice, but we would suggest skipping this one if you had already experienced Fuego back in Guatemala. Take care!! :-)
Hey guys!
Nice to see you are still at it. I did my first century ride a few weeks ago and have a newfound respect for you guys 😂
Granada looks amazing! All those old colonial buildings were under renovation when we started our trip there in ‘07. I wish you had side tripped out to ometepe island in Lake Nicaragua, really nice out there. My old college roommate lives in Panama, drop me a line and I can put you in touch. I’m sure he’d be happy to show you guys around, he’s a big cycling fan and is a broadcaster for cycling events.

Oh my gosh HOW did I miss this video?! I’ve needlessly worried for the past two months 🙄 You two look fantastic!! Who knew Nicaragua would be so enchanting? God Speed❤
Hey there BJB! Thank you again for checking in on us. All good and we're still alive, just doing a horrible job at video creations. Actually, all of Central America and Mexico was an amazing experience. The people, food, sights, etc.... was an eye opening experience. Sadly, only the negative stuff gets reported, but we had an amazing time. Again thank you for your continued support and for hanging in there with us. Take care ~Ron & Petra
Great videos!! I am in New Englands and with the winter comes free time to binge watch bike touring and dream of warmer weather. Thanks for taking us along. I notice that there can be a month plus between videos so won’t worry about your where about 😊😊. Keep on pedaling!!!
Hey there VaNomad! Wishing you all the best up there and hope you're staying warm. Brrrrrr.... Thank you for following along and yeah we've been struggling with the videos but we promise there will be more. Take care and again stay warm! ~Ron & Petra
Love your videos. Waiting for the next one
Many tanks Ambrosemolina! We hope to post more videos here real soon. After reaching Panama City our adventure took a major detour and then another one after that. All good though! Take care ~Ron & Petra
That looked amazing but those temperatures I know are tough to deal with. I've still not cycled across the border so a little jealous to see three border crossings in one video! some great scenery but Granada looked like the highlight. The architecture looked glorious.
Cheers Jay! Many thanks and yes we took a beating with those temps. HAHA yeah it was hot! Granada was our favorite too and seemed more relaxing to be honest. However, Leon was neat and worth a visit for sure. We skipped the capital cycling on the edge of it, so no comment about it. The volcano was neat, but BUT after seeing Fuego back in Guatemala, we would not recommend it. Take care and happy cycling to you and we're looking forward to your continued videos from the Pacific Coast. ~Ron & Petra
Hello Ron and Petra
Very impressive and colorfull video. We are looking forward to maybe to this trip as well one day. We love your videos, keep on going 👍

I've LOVED watching your adventures!! You both make it look so easy! Can you tell me which Co-motion bikes you are riding and how you like them???
Hello Sheree! Thank you for watching and following along! HAHA well it's not always fun or easy, but overall it is an amazing experience. We are cycling on Co-Motion's Pangeas with the Rohloff and we have owned them since 2012. This is their second major world tour, our first one was from 2013-2015 and now this one. We've also done many smaller weekend/overnighters on them as well. They work for us and our style of touring. They're heavy, but their built to carry the weight and they do that very well. Hope this helps but if you would like more info on the bikes please shoot us an email at pedalpowertouring@gmail.com and we'll do our best to answer any questions you may have. Until then, take care and happy cycling! ~Ron & Petra
great adventure! Where are next episodes?
Hello Kamil! Many thanks for following along. Sadly I/we have been working on Costa Rica and Panama for months now. The first 8 minutes or so of the video is just sitting there and waiting to be finished. I guess we hit a wall and lost our motivation along with other priorities that got in our way. However, yesterday we cracked opened Adobe Premiere and started working on it again. With any luck, this coming weekend Costa Rica and Panama will be up. Thanks again and take care! ~Ron & Petra
Hope you guys are good!! Haven’t seen any videos in a while.
Hello Sharon! Thank you for checking in on us. All is well here, but we have made a small detour in our plans. However, we'll be back at it soon. Take care and thank you again. ~Ron & Petra
@@PedalPowerTouringplease start riding again, what happened
wonderful trip you two, thank you for sharing this beautiful journey with us, I am going to cycle from Guatemala to Costa Rica starting in a month, any advice for what route to take/avoid? and about covid test/vaccine? Do we need a CPR test to enter Guatemala via air and El Salvador, Nicaragua, and finally Costa Rica via land? Thanks so much! :D
I was enjoying your travels and then the videos stopped😢
Hoping you are both ok and enjoying life and riding your bikes.
Hello Rob & Les (aka gogorobandles)! Thank you so much for following along and for leaving us a wonderful comment. And thank you, yes we are doing well. Sadly, creating videos sort of went to the back burner, but BUT we just finished our Costa Rica and Panama video and will have it posted this week. Please check back in the next few days! In the meantime, happy cycling! ~Ron & Petra
@@PedalPowerTouring well that's good news! Looking forward to seeing it🙂
Haven’t seen a video in a while and hoping everything is ok on your trip.
Hello Bill and thank you for checking in with us. All good here thanks. We are currently back in Florida helping our Daughter and Son-in-law with a new baby. We hope to be back at it and working our way to Ushuaia in the next few weeks. Take care! ~Ron & Petra
@@PedalPowerTouring Oh I just posted a message about you? Guys not posting the next video? It sounds like you went back to Florida so. I guess to finish the South? American. Trip you're just gonna fly to columbia correct and then finish it from there maybe
Have you made it to South America yet?
Hello Brady! Sadly no, we did make it to Panama City and it was here our plans changed. All good though and we hope to get back to finishing our videos here soon. Until then take care and thanks again. ~Ron & Petra
How good is your Spanish or you can use English traveling through these Spanish speaking countries? All the best to your travels. Looks nice and hot 🙂👍
Hey Thomas! Petra's Spanish has improved a lot, whereas mine is ... well not so good. I seem to always want to answer back in German for some strange reason. :-) Thank you all the best to you back in Florida. ~Ron & Petra
Hello Congratulations for your beautiful journey
I would like to do a piece of your tour .by bicycle
Starting from Mexico city to Costa Rica
My henglis is very limited
I did not quiete understand what you were sayng.
Could you give some advice .
About safety
Hello Giuseppe! Thank you for watching and following along. So you are wanting to cycle from Mexico to Costa Rica and are concerned about your safety. We are not sure exactly what advice you would like. We can say that we never had any issues or were ever in fear for our safety. However, there are some areas that we would say to avoid. One being is the road (Mexico 199) between San Cristobal de las Casas and Palenque in Mexico. There seems to always be issues near the town of Ocosingo and in fact there were two cycle tourists killed near here back in 2018. We also like to do our best to talk with locals and they will let you know too if it's ok or not ok and what areas to avoid. Like anytime you travel, just be aware of your surroundings and use common sense, do not flash money and/or expensive items. Crossing borders can always be a little stressful and seem to attract the wrong types of people, so always be aware in the border towns. If you are planning on taking a drone, please know that in Nicaragua they are NOT allowed and it will be taken at the border, if they find it. If you would like more about information about this please feel free to email us. You are in for a wonderful cycling adventure and we really enjoyed our time through Mexico to Panama. Great times!! If you would like more information please feel free to email us at pedalpowertouirng@gmail.com Take care ~Ron & Petra
