The writing is surprisingly clever for a nineties kids game.
BugPope I think a dude from Lucas Arts point n clicks went on to found Humongous Entertainment which also explains why the puzzles are pretty good sometimes too
Just doesn't work that well for an international audience.
I guess British audience should have ... Slough? .. or maybe UK as a whole.
As a kid growing up in Seattle, it felt like this game was made for me.

I knew Pajama Sam's voice sounded familiar. He's voiced by the sames actress who voiced Bobby Hill in King of the Hill.

Extra surprising considering Davegrossman was the writer of this game and worked on the first PJ Sam, aswell as Monkey island and other lucasarts point and click games. And those are full of puns and word play

I feel like they should have been named "rain and thunder". then it'd have made more sense especially with how one is a god damn rain cloud. heck rain is often a symbol of calmness so it works there as well!

retosius It's more irony than anything, Thunder is an extremely loud noise caused by clouds and lightning, but she's the quiet one.

Sams animations are so high quality and the backgrounds are great, the art and animation teams should live forever

Thank you, for real, thank you for covering the Humongous Entertainment games, specifically Pajama Sam. His games are among my most favorite of all time, and these reviews really do him justice. You are fantastic, Ian.
Best Pajama Sam game hands down, the atmosphere of world wide weather just felt so fun and expansive. For some reason I just really loved being able to explore an office building where all the workers were also office supplies. Always felt bad for that trashcan. I always admired his rebellious spirit as he said "One of these days we trash cans are gonna unionize!"

I remember finding the gold by complete accident just from playing around with the machine. Sometimes, finishing these games is more about basic five-year-old curiosity than imaginative puzzle-solving.
How about reviewing "Pajama Sam 3: You are what you eat from your head to your feet" and "Pajama Sam 4: Life is Rough when you loose stuff"? When I was little my copy of Pajama Sam 2 came with a small plush of Pajama Sam and I was also a big fan of Spy Fox, the one where Spy Fox sounded like Don Adams, could you do PC reviews on Spy Fox?
I'll review the rest of the PJ Sam games in time, I just don't want to do them all at once.
And yes! I did a video over the first Spy Fox game, though it is a fairly old video. I've also covered some Putt-Putt and Freddi Fish games, as well as Fatty Bear! I'm a big fan of Humongous Entertainment's Junior Adventure series.

Lightning is giving me huge Pearl vibes now that I think about it.
When trying to guess where and how you'd get those coins from I got this image in my head of Sam manhandling the Chairman and discovering some change hidden underneath his cushion. Now that would've been something!

No hair gel! I just wash/condition my hair, push it back out of my face, and let it dry.

That moment when you play-through Pajama Sam3 and realize:This is an children's game with talking food and it's a thousand times more mature than Sausage Party an adult movie with talking food! There are so much hidden adult topics in that game. It's incredible!

Pajama Sam 2 was the first Pajama Sam game I ever played. I remember the demo for it on my Blue's Clues ABC Time Activities CD-ROM as well as other Humongous demos like Putt-Putt Travels Through Time and Freddi Fish 3.
Oh man i had the same Blue's Clues game! I remember thinking Pajama Sam looked rad, never did get a copy of it, though I did score a ton of the classic Backyard Sports games at garage sales when I was young, so there's a victory.
I had the Blue's Birthday game. I, for some reason, still remember how the kids would say the months in the year...idk why x_x
AH THE NOSTALGIA! This was the game I played every day. Could never get past the vending machine, I'm glad it wasn't easy to figure out even for you, now I feel better about myself. :P Great video as always!
I haven't played these games, so it's always a treat hearing you talk about what you enjoyed so much as a kid, Ian. Even if this one didn't blow you away, I really enjoyed your overview of it. Definitely a solid way to cap off a Sunday.

Oh my gosh...THANK YOU for talking about the vending machine thing! I played this game for the first time a few years ago with two of my friends in college and we were stuck on that part forever. I did eventually say "Hey, what if we grew a rainbow and got coins from the pot of gold at the end of it!?" we all laughed and thought that would be stupid. One of my friends even said they'd pay for the next pizza if that were the case and...sure enough.

Okay, I'm sorry if I sound weird or cheesy, but I just want to take a moment to say thank you.
I was in an art compitition earlier today, and my art teacher also put my work on display for judging, (and I won't hear about the results until Wednesday) and because of it I obviously left with an anxious feeling. But basically, after watching some videos and hearing you talk about games in a rather relaxed and calm demenor has helped me calm down a bit.
