  • I wasn't sure how to title this but, I asked myself a question, can you simply calculate the correct size resistor after swapping out a selenium diode for a silicon. The typical approach is trial and error. Is there another way to do that? Now, some of you have already labeled me as crazy for even asking such a question. I won't argue with that. However, I thought it might be interesting to explore this idea which is why I recorded this. Hope you will join me.

    I use a power resistor decade box. I have a clarostat 240 -C . It's a great bench companion.
    Great Video 👍

Thanks! A power resistor decade box would great. At some point I may have to break down and get one. Thankfully, my resistor collection works for now.
