They raise prices every week in Boston mileage cost more now annual membership is up and weekly fee is up soon they will be identical to Zipcar prices which are high.
I had the car since October because I needed a car ASAP, because I'm a nursing student and I work part time. So I emailed them last week because I needed a receipt for January payment. They said my odometer wasn't working and I need to return or swap my car. So I was in class I told them I can't do it until the following Monday. Long story short I got an email saying I need to return my car immediately or they going to send a collector to get my car. Not swap the car but return my car within 24 hours or they going to have a collector come and get it. I called the 800 number and explain that I have no other transportation ,I explained I'm a nursing student and I work part-time, I need transportation and they just ignored me and said bring the car back in 24 hours or we're going take further actions. I never been treated so unfairly in my life. Never missed a payment since October. BEWARE Don't do it!! I finally got approved for a 2021😂
Tanya, That is so rude of them! That would totally turn me off to ever using them again. Thank you so much for sharing your experience. I was hoping to actually get a bunch of personal experiences from people who have also used flexcar so that viewers of this video can see all sides of the rental experience. Hope Nursing school is going well! Thanks for watching and sharing!
@@gtyar4395 yes nursing school is going well. I will graduate this May. I was so scared because it was so short notice (what Flexcar did to me) but everything worked out. They are not going to last long , treating ppl that way. Have a great weekend 😊
Good for short drives not long and if them miles not tracking they want the car back. They won’t work with your schedule at all if you a busy person so get ready to make time.
Thank you for sharing your recent experience with Flexcar. I havent used them since they changed their pricing model about 2 years ago.. I really should make a new video talking about how Flexcar is really not a good value anymore.
So glad I saw this I’ve been thinking about this! So I try to look it up, my location ,( I’m on the cape so it says it’s not In my area !? But I’m thinking like Helllo I’m going to go to Boston to pick it up ? ) anyway … is this a good idea if you have crappy credit and know you won’t get approved for a good car?? Can you rent for like a month ? I need more details ha like is this a good option for those of us in a crappy divorce with bad credit due to alcoholic ex hubby?? And like say I wanted to rent a car every month for idk 🤷♀️ like two weeks every month? About how much would that be ?? Thx
Hi Heaven Blakes, thanks for watching and for these great questions. Its been over 6 months since i last rented with Flexcar and i know that their pricing structure has changed since. you'll have to do some research on the site as it currently stands for cost information. You can definitely rent a car for a month or more, that's actually what they want to see from their customers, is long term rentals that last months... im just not sure how much it would set you back with their current pricing structure. Also, sorry to hear your going through a crappy divorce. I have some experience in that arena and i know how awful it can get sometimes. Sending you good energy and best wishes.
Thank you for this review. I’m considering going this route, because I’m getting ready to purchase a home. My concerns are they have several negative reviews.
@@NatashaThompkins404 I having a great experience with Flexcar. I been using them for about a month now. I use it for school, errands, and work. Plus they have a special this month for 200 free miles. My average weekly miles is around 150 yes I give it a 5 star. X9WMKJ is the code for the 200 miles. Happy holidays
It seems like Flexcar exists if you ABSOLUTELY need a vehicle RIGHT NOW, to get you to point A to B, within a short period of time, ONE time. And NEVER use them again. So it appears that they're "banking" on first time renters. So you better be in a position to need the car, and drive it as needed basis. To work, to school, buy groceries, nothing more, nothing less. And you better hope that those driving distances are well within renting from them
Great question. Kind of! I did just acquire a 2019 mazda3 which I am going to do a rolling review of in the next couple weeks. That's my daily driver though. As far as REAL fun cars go, I'm also looking at convertibles again for the late spring. I'm currently in the process of ramping up my content now that I have found a little more free time in my world. Thanks for watching!
@@gtyar4395 Great! You have a good presentation style and an Everyman take on cars that appeals to a lot of us. Plus you seem to have found a niche - kind of a "Cheap Thrills" of the automotive world. I want to get a Solstice of my own someday and loved those videos. Good luck in the new search. I'm looking forward to the new content, both Mazda and whatever else you find. Drive safe and drive fun!
I did give the prices, in great detail actually. its all written out at the very end of the video. just a heads up, the prices have definitely increased since i released this video, so check their website for current rates.
Since I made that review, Flexcar has changed their pricing a bunch and I have to agree with you.. At this point in time, its better off to just go buy a used corolla or civic, it would just be a better value all together AND you could use the car as much as you needed to. I think I'm going to have to make an updated video about Flexcar.
Thank you! You hit every point that I would ask about. Also, taking pictures of the vehicle before taking it off the lot it A MUST! Smart GTYar.
Thank YOU for watching and for the kind words!
That pothole blooper was HILARIOUS 😂thanks for not editing it out 😂.
Your welcome! I also found it amusing =-)

Very informative and presented in a relaxed manner. Not IN YOUR FACE 👍
Thanks Rob

Use code X9WMKJ for extra miles
Did you do it? How was it?
What was your experience like?

45 cents/mile is crazy. You can rent a pickup truck at U-Haul cheaper than that
The U-Haul in Boston charges $1.09 per mile for a pickup truck. Everything is expensive here, unfortunately.
$0.69-0.79 cent a mile for uhaul in RI
As a former general manger your not getting a Uhaul mileage cheaper then .45 stop the cap 😂
Are you still using flex car?
I am still using Flexcar
I am using Flexcar and it is great. Use my promo code for 100 free miles

Must have been expensive. He baited everyone to stay to the end of the video to give the price but never gave it. On to the next video....
