I love Audio Technica. I've been using an ATH-ADG1 for the last four years and it is still working perfectly.

listening with my m60x. can confirm, they are awesome for casual listening but works fine for tracking metal guitar and on the go mixing is quite good too, dont have to change much after referencing with my krk rokit monitors :)

I must say you are right when it comes to sound quality of M50, however I just calibrated mine with measuring microphone and ARC2, and after measurement I can not believe what I was listening for several years. When I turn off correction M50 sounds like someone drop them from 11th floor, then jumped on the for 30 minutes, peed on then, and then gave them back to me. It was just that awful.
I use digital correction in my studio for my monitors, and there is nothing that can make my ears happy now as flat frequency curve. This is a must.
I love these cans aside from their portability quirks, do you have any idea of a hard case that fits these?
Thanks Lachlan. FWIW, I chose the WS1100is over these as I'm just not prepared to take a risk on comfort with another pair of on-ear headphones.
Wonderfull review. How do they compare to senheizer hd239? I have the 239 and they are so comfortable, also their bass and tremble is very good ... not too much but much enough for me.I tried the mx50 but after a while i got tired wearing them because i m not used on over the ear headphones. My attention is more on bass and tremble. Thank you in advance

Would this be good if I am looking for something similarly dark/warm to Porta pro but with more bass extension/subbass capability? There is also skullcandy grind which innerfidelity reviewed and liked... Over ears too btw and I've been looking at hd58x maybe (I have takstar pro82 and it's a bit too sibilant). Just looking for in-home gaming(but not multiplayer, just immersion) and music, soundtracks listening headphone. I have e10k and porta pro... and while I've tried many headphones and recently pro82, I always return to PP probably because I like relaxing/non sibilant sound. So I am not sure if I am asking for recommendation or recommending the pp to people reading this :P

Have you tried m70x with sonarworks reference 4? I think it sounded better with reference 4 software... I own m70x but its bass is recessed...
Which has clear and flatter sound m60x or the mx40x? Since Im using the m40x right now and i like the clarity and flat sound of it so im looking forward to upgrade that is the same or better, thank you

You are right about the glasses. On ear headphones hurt my ears too.
ATH-M60x are the only ATH-M series headphones worth the money, period. They are far better than all of the other headphones in the series including the M70x.

I like my M50x for monitoring but I don't think I could wear on ear monitors, I use my IEMs for field monitor Sennheiser IE 40 PROs
If you're using M50x's for monitoring you're doing it right. Get a pair of status audio CB-1s.
1:41 I agree with him. My MDR-7510 is more powerful on the bass regions. M70x makes me to focus on the vocal more than music.
With techno, tech-house and also with EDM what do you tink about the ATH-M60x ?
They would be fine genres with the M60x provided you like an energetic bass / treble response

The MSR7 is richer in the female vocal range, and there is slightly less bass than in the M60x.
Overall which one do you prefer more?
So what do you prefere the m50x or m60x ? Or should i buy them both ?
Personally I prefer the m60x (Lachlan) but I like the M70x as well.

how does this m60x compare with the sony mdr-1am2, do you think please?
I heard the AM2 in Hong Kong, but we do not sell the AM2 at Minidisc yet. It's a very different sound - the AM2 isn't trying to be a monitor headphone, so it has an even thicker mid-bass section and the main treble peak is shifted up higher so it's more shimmery than anything else. The AM2 is much closer to the MDR-1A / variants. It's a relaxing sound, which the M60x isn't. - Lachlan

sony mdr1a I would've bought but it has major durability issues with the cable and I forget what else. ditto for xb950.ws1100 is 50% off and better than m70x, 50x.
How does it compare to the m40x though? I really didn't like the sound of the m50x, it just sounds so muddy to me and it makes my head ache. lol.. I've read on reviews that the m60x doesn't sound like the m50x in any way, that it sounds way richer. I'm looking into buying these to have like a mobile version of my m40x.
Theirs a youtuber called Zreviews. The 40's are the only pair from the x series that he like and he loves these

why make them wireless, you understand how wireless works right? there's no way they can have the same audio quality as on cable
@thepirate4095 i wrote that 5 years ago and i I've watched reviews of wireless headphones being close and comparable in sound quality to wired headphones. Not that that's the only reason someone might want them.
@@bobcat2938 people who are serious about their audio quality would never buy wireless unless they know for sure they can deliver the bandwith and latency necessary to make it worth it
