Great info especially for wooded country. Topo maps are invaluable also. Out here in the Texas panhandle determining deer travel patterns is generally generally as simple as just viewing the terrain from about any higher ground lol. Brushy high ground or larger groves of trees are mostly bedding areas. Some are travel corridors. Seems the deer ( whitetail) like using the draws more than higher ground in moving from bedding to different field crops such as alfalfa or milo. Knowing where there is currently water will help to find travel patterns quicker. It’s a lot easier here than wooded country. Brush blinds well built or even brushed in pop up blinds work well if there’s no decent trees for ladder stands. lol. Nothing like taking a deer from the ground IMO.

Thanks for watching! Is there any specific topics you'd like to see us cover or show in a video?
@@thesouthernoutdoorsmen how about hunting in or around 3 to 7 year old clearcuts?
My property is completely surrounded by cut over parcels and has become a pass through property. It also is now difficult to hunt because I am upwind of deer regardless of the wind direction.
@@nathanlester5054 we can definitely cover this. Very relatable for a lot of us southerns
Good video
Glad you enjoyed!
Good stuff. Love the down South stuff.
We are glad you enjoyed it. What other videos would you like to see from us?
@@thesouthernoutdoorsmen Some scouting in these places and where and why you would setup.
We can definitely do that! Thanks for the recommendation.
A fence row is just that, a old fence row? Like a property boundary?
Most of the fence row we see around ole pastures on a property that grew up or were planted in pines like this property.
