  • Offered for sale is one of the nicest original Cadillac Eldorado Biarritz in the country. Only 8,418 original miles! We have the actual mile title! 1978 was the last year Cadillac made the large, longer body style. In 1979, they began making them smaller & shorter.
    We have the original books & service records to the vehicle. It has always been garage kept, pampered and taken out for Sunday drives & to shows. Here is your chance to own a true survivor!

    Take notes, Doug deMuro. This is the kind of awesomeness and positivity with which such a magnificent car deserves to be presented! Not the whole "geez the 70s were weird" approach :)

      Everything is relative. I'm into the CAR. Doug is much less of a distraction than the typical bleached blonde bimbo trying to explain features of a car that was made before she was even born. At least Doug interjects some humor.

      Beastly Buick V6 brother I have a 2008 Acura TL as well. There is a misconception that Japanese cars don’t require maintenance- which is not true. Every car requires upkeep- both cosmetic and mechanical. This TL collects rust immediately if I don’t take care of the dings. When I bought it- it needed work with EVAP canister, brakes etc..I see the engine lacking if I don’t put synthetic oil in or use high octane gas. The road noise is there and bumps are felt all the way. There is a plastic feeling when your drive- like you’re on a thin layer. I just took the muscle for a spin- drove like a human being and gas mileage was great ( 15 MPG- same as some V8 jeeps/ the TL gives me 21 MPG and that’s not even half the car I’m driving- understandable). The drive itself was really pleasant and I like seeing the hood of the car. These guys make old cars sound like they would die out of no where on you. If you maintain it, it won’t die. If you’re lazy, sure be it Japanese or American classic- the car will give you trouble. But if you speak with some mechanics- they will you that new Japanese/German cars are a horror- mind you these are 3 or 4 years old car. They have taken out manual part system and got sophisticated Computers in- which are so sensitive to every minute detail that cars need to be fixed all the time. Its less engineering and more electronics. Old cars take out, find replacement part- boom fixed easily. This is an overthinking IT generation- they are making all cars which look like eggs and they put nice interior lights and touch screen and people are happy. On top, these leds lights make em look like some alien spaceship. I use google maps on my phone, I’ll use a fm transmitter to play music via phone till the time I install a nice stereo system in the Mark iv.
      But over all I’m very happy. Thinking of making a video review soon.

    My friend had the same identical Caddy. It was magnificent! He only had the car a week or two and got drunk one night and drove into a lake in a park. So sad to hear about the accident. He didn't learn his lesson either. A month or two later he totaled another car by hitting 5 or 6 parked cars coming home from another hard night of drinking. This car was a Lincoln town car. He had a spoiled up bring by his wealthy parents and didn't value anything. Thanks for sharing this video.

    I bought a 1976 Eldorado Convertible in early 2015. The '76 model year being the last year of the drop-top. This '78 model is gorgeous, to be sure. I did notice that GM downsized the engine from 500 C.I. to 425 between the 2 years. The weight dropped considerably between the 2 models, i.e., from 6056 lb to 4K+ in 78. Now, that could be because the one I owned (I have since sold it) was a convertible, as they tend to be heavier. And I have to agree with Beastly Buick's observation about the car being a "money pit". At least mine was. The 1st time I drove my car, I realized why they were called "Land Yachts". That car floated. No road sensation whatsoever, including unfortunately, in the steering. But what a pleasure to drive regardless! That was (and is) my Dream Car.

    Biarritz came in white only , you can tell if it’s a Biarritz the stainless steal lines on the the doors. Disco would be the most appropriate music for this 1978 Eldorado , that body style lasted 2 years 1977-1978 this model and color is the most sought after, the most sought after eldorado of all time is the 1967 Front wheel drive Eldorado but this 78’ is sought after too.

    • @danielnitley8695
      @danielnitley8695 Před 5 lety +1

      The Biarritz color options was the white u saw, black, blue, and a special 2 tone brown made during the last few copies cause in 79 came the first downsize Eldo. The Biarritz option was offered in 79 as well with a SS roof to denote Biarritz model. That body style ran from 75 to 78 with minor changes thru the years.

    • @jco5679
      @jco5679 Před 5 lety

      Daniel Nitley The 1977-1978 body style
      and the 1974-1976 models are significantly different. The tail lights , headlights were round with a square frame around the headlights on the 1974-76 models . With the 77-78 model the headlight lenses were Square and the tail lights were half lense half bumper and the rear window & roof line were much larger in length with the 1977-78 and I might add that the 1978 Eldorado was slightly different than the 1977 Eldorado.
      Example the best Fleetwood brougham and sedan deville, coupe deville ever made my opinion was the 1976 . I drove in a few back then and I can tell you they were one of the best luxury cars I have ever driven in. Too bad they don’t make them how they use to. When someone talks about a Cadillac the first thing comes to mind is the 1976 models. At the time they were today’s Lexus, much better than Lexus.
