I had a 1977 Pontiac Grand Prix back in 1987. It was a Teal Blue/Green color with the same wheels as this one , but it also had power windows. I'm surprised with all the features that this car has , that it doesn't have power windows.

Those cars are money pits and burn oil don't be fooled folks lease them and return before 50k miles for a reason!!!

Yeah, I've never understood giving the coupe style to large cars. And I don't understand why that's the kind you tend to see restored rather than the 4-doors. It seems the only advantage would be that you'd have fewer doors to lock and unlock manually, as that was before auto locks.

Those long front ends are no joke. Back in the 70s and 80s if you were driving in the right lane you always had to watch for cars stopped on cross streets with half the car sticking into your lane because it was the only way the driver could see both ways. Nevertheless, those big boats make a statement and there was time when I considered buying a used one, when the availability was still plentiful. Ultimately I decided I wanted to get more than 8 miles per gallon so I bought an economy car.

I owned one of those, in CA where the 460 was illegal so my engine was the 400. Like driving a boat

Anyone driving a 1954 Mercury Monterey would not wear such ridiculous teenager clothes and such high heels. American women would have been wearing extremely elegant long-skirted suits from designers such as Lilli Ann or Claire McCardell -- back when people dressed with taste and style. Cothes that suit the car, or rather the Monterey sutied people of style, not 1950s teenagers. Not everything in life is a cliché as current generations seem to think. At a certain point, it is not funny or charming, just sad. Well, actually, pathetic. Hopefully, someone with a little taste will buy this lovely automobile from an (unfortunately) VERY bygone era.

Before you drive it anywhere, change the front and rear plastic coolant crossover pipes. They start leaking right around 50k miles. Ask me how I know.

in 77 other brands exept gm did finally start to make attractive looking affordable personal luxury coupes after mostly failing before. cars like the torino and elite were maybe decent luxury cars but their designs looked stubby und uninspired. same for granada coupe.
