Staying inside with a ceiling fan on keeps me cool.
Have a great 4th of July! Love you all so much! Continued prayers †God bless
Kisses back to Smeegle. I love him so much.
Poor little chicken I hope it gets better. Russell is getting so big. He's a good boy. Baby goat is so cute. I couldn't see Cora till you pointed her out. Smart doggy staying in the shade. Keep Smiling, God Bless.
Her coloring is camouflage. Brindles do that.
I LOVE Mr. Smeegles!
Hello kitty đș â€
We call those choke cherries. We had a few in our yard. The birds love them. Every year a huge flock of what must have been thousands of birds would stop for a couple of days on their way to somewhere just to eat those berries. Itâs was an impressive sight to see! Both eerie and, especially after watching the movie The Birds, scary!
Here is a story for you about cherry trees and livestock. Many years ago I was a truck driver in Florida. I hauled horses locally. George Steinbrenner had a Thoroughbred farm not far from where the horse van company was located. We used to hear some crazy stories but the one that I remember was about cherry trees. Mr. Steinbrenner hired a new broodmare manager. They were showing him around, showing him the broodmare barn and the pastures that went with it. The new manager said that he had a job for his new crew. He pointed to a line of trees that went all of the way down the fence line of the main pasture. He told them to go find all of the chainsaws that they could and cut down every single one of those trees. They thought he had lost his mind because these were big beautiful healthy trees. He then pointed out that every single one of those trees were cherry trees, toxic to horses. He was amazed that someone thought that it was a good idea to plant them along that fence and that no one had noticed before him.
It might have been better if the fence were moved. Just a thought.
@@edweed6039 No, The trees needed to be gone. You don't want toxic trees any where near Thoroughbred brood mares.
All stone fruits - not the flesh, but the seeds.
Yes â@@kathleenredick275
We removed every cherry tree on our ranch. Our neighbors didn't remove their. They lost several of their horses. It's heartbreaking.

Kevin poor big man Mojo needs his air when it's that hotđ đ đ â€â€â€â€
We love the emus they are our favorite animals
Thanks again for another awesome video I really enjoyed it and as always I'm really looking forward to seeing the next video
Have a great 4th! We plan to celebrate and talk about the history and the commitment our ancestors had for our country!
Thank you for going through the work in filming this videoâŠ..I appreciate your effort. 5 yrs?? Holy Cow. Have you been talking for your animals all that time?? HahahaâŠ..good! Thanks again.
Cora was digging a moat around the fort that way when it rains it can fill up the moat and they don't have to go swimming in the pond they can just step out of the fort and go swimming in the moat đ MUCH LOVE đ AND RESPECT đđ»GOD BLESS đđ»
Russell is so big!! Every day he seems to grow so much
Thatâs the first time I saw a dog dig a bed to lay in đ
Kevin you forgot to turn the water off in mojo filled. Sending love to all the family and drink plenty of water â€â€â€
I watched for turning the water off, too. Forgetting's happened more than once in the past.
It's well water, he doesnt have to pay for it
@@ajtoofer In the past, when he has forgotten to turn the water off, he has deeply regretted it, and they are leaving the farm for a while.
Rachel, your flowers around the home is really pretty!
Hello Kevin, family and friends! This heat is brutal, stay hydrated and safe. Have a wonderful evening.
Rachael could you send a note to Grampa Doss Farms with the brush you use for Mojo? Thank you.
Kevin so glad that little banty chicken is doing better. â€
I bought two brushes Rachel
Used and it does a great job. Have a bag handy to put the hair in bc it takes the hair off. Make sure you donât try to use it on matted air tangled hair.
Have fun with where ever you're going. Lots of love and prayers going your way â€â€đđđđđđ
Hate poking my head in here, but, having all of their water sources (pools, tubs, etc) sitting out in 100 degree weather, at least in the sun, that water heats up FAST, it would be like drinking or jumping into a hot tub! Maybe think about putting some over where it's shady all day. I don't know. Just a random thought when I saw the metal tubs of water đ§ đź hot hot hot! đ„ Hi Smeegs! đââŹïž
By the way, the water tubs are made from black plastic. I know it's still hot. However, goats don't need lots of water, dogs also have access to ponds. There isn't a metal water container on their property.
Hi All,
Hopefully youâll see and read this. I missed the notification. Or I wouldâve be told you earlier.
An interesting tip I received from my vet to help keep a dog cool bc my female Shepherd is an 8yr old white long haired with super thick hair like Mojo. (I think of Mojo when I see her).
Vet said to cut with scissors or shave off the hair on their stomachs and when they lay on the dirt or concrete it cools them off even more.
It helps my dog.
Hope this works for the awesome guardian dogs you have. Love to keep up with all of them and Mr. Smeagle.
Iâm not working so I canât be a member yet but I have been a subscriber close to 3yrs now I think
Renee from Texas
Poor little girl hope she gets better soon â€
Stay safe out in the heat, drink plenty of water. Being diabetic myself, the heat can really get to ya, that's why I prefer fall temps. God bless yous. And Mojoâ€
That old stone building on the lake property was probably used for cool storage.
Aww! Look at her lil limp
Hi Kevin may i suggest to you an idea to use Coloured bands or coloured bracelets, different colours for each different things to help you to remember to turn on or off certain things such as for water or electric fence. đ
Good video again Kevin. I empty 3 water sources for the birds and squirrels. And every morning the water is hot. Once I turn the hose on that water is hot because sometimes the hose is in the sun. So I let the hose run for awhile, until the water turns cold. Nothing like walking outside and immediately start sweating. Humidity in Maryland has to be the worst was 76 this morning on top of the temp. Supposed to be beautiful tomorrow, Monday and Tuesday then hot & humid return. Then the fourth of July the 5&6 storms. Guess no parades or fireworks. Well, stay cool and hydrated. Find shade for your water & pools. Hi Rachel, Kyah & Kaleb !!. May the Lord continue to Bless you and your family and friends and your critters đđđïž Peace and Love đ from Maryland â€ïž . Happy 4th of July too. Stay Safe
Yes, love your cat. Also all your dogs too.
Hello Kevin and Rachel
Yes, it is hot here in Arizona.
We are home hunting. Our landlords decided my 7 year old autistic grandson is too much. I got a text message informing me that our lease wonât be renewed.
If you can - say a prayer for us.
Blessings to you â€
~Linda
This is awful. I am sorry.ăhugsă
@@kellyredinger5974 Thank you. May peace and love fill your life. *hug*
Have a Great time where ever you guys are going.
Smeagal is a cool cat
Hope the chick doesn't get harassed and continues to full recovery.
Have a great week stay cool and look forward to the next videoâ€
Oh my goodness! We have had a cold snap!! Only 107* yesterday!!đ„”
Such a beautiful farm and I just love all your animals. â€â€
Such smart family animals !đđșđž
Russell sure has grown. Heâs a beautiful color.
Put some misters on the front and back porch a fine mist of cold water is good for everyone
Works great UNLESS you have a humid day. You wouldn't believe a desert could get so humid. Plus, you have to have good water quality, if not you get a build up real fast blocking the misters. Then you get LARGE drips instead of a fine mist.
Great idea.
We used to have them all over here. When they were here, it helped â€đđ
Thanks for the hot tour.
. Glad the chicken is doing better. Mojo loves the cool shade! Happy Days! âïžđ§âïžđđđ„°đ€đ
Awe, poor Russell. He wants to play with Baby Sunny soooo bad. That is just too cute. I hope you all are staying cool. This heat has been treacherous. đđ
Maybe put one of the pools in the shade for the geese. Maybe they might like the cooler water.
Hi Mr Smeagle! You're so cute. Be a good kitty.
Beautiful property with all those trees. Nice place for all the animals to stay cooler.
Have a good day
Good thing I wasn't playing Kevin says "It's Hot" drinking game, I would be wrecked đ
This was a pretty video today, saw some parts of your farm from different angles. Thank you for the gentle caring walkabout. Hope you have a good day out.
Kevin
When it's so hot don't the pools need to be in the shade too?
Of course they do. Why are they sitting out in hot sun?
Hopefully the chicken will be ok. It's good that the dogs find them a cool spot to get away from the heat. Russell grows from video to video it seems. Hope y'all have a good time on your outing. GOD bless y'all.
Its nice and cool here in central NY. 68
Thank you great video đ«¶đ
Hi :) I am from Canada in a province called Saskatchewan I am located in the southwest part of Saskatchewan we have been getting more rain several funnels ( tornado formations) were spotted but none touched down tg, but ya still getting rain and some hail. We need the rain the farms around here have been very dry for the past 5 years so the rain is welcome a lot of the ponds here are almost dried up that is how dry it is here and very hot summers with little to no rain make things harder. Last year was an infestation of grasshoppers the ground was crawling with them a lot of the farmers here lost their crops because of them.
We are doing good this year not as many grasshoppers this year so far just a lot of rain not all the farmers were able to get seed in before it rained 75% did though in this area not sure about anywhere else in Saskatchewan or in Canada. I am not sure if they got their seed in yet or not but you do with what you have mother nature sometimes has other plans where I am we can have rattlers and guarder snakes but I have only seen guarder snakes in this area so things are safe :)
Hope you had a great time wherever you went :) I do agree though farming is not for everyone.
Kevin get some peppermint oil add 5 to 8 drops in water spray your legs before you go outside to feed it will keep bugs off you happy 4th to you and family
Hello from Texas 77â It is hot hear in Texas 99 degrees here. It is unusual for this kinda heat here. I hope you have a good little outing with your family. Love your videos. I canât believe how big your puppy is. But the dogs are all beautiful. Love Nana 77ââ€đ„°â€ïžđŠ
Hi! Kevin and Rachel, Really enjoyed watching and thank you. Love y'all
Hi everyone! We have 112 heat and higher coming this week. We live in central California and I hate the heat. Going to stay cool if I can and all of you do the same. Love your videos, keep up the good work, lol. Sending love and hugs to all of you.
I love the looks of your woods with all the limbs cleared away and the view through them looks so pretty! Youâve got great land for your animals they are taken great care of . Hope the little bani continues to get betterâ€
Mojo needs a sprinkler on hot days LOL
We were in the high 90â for a while but now have had cooling weather high 80âs but getting much needed rain. Here in central highlands of Mexico 3 hours north of Guadalajara. My grandson has cattle and crops. We live in a very beautiful area. Love watching you and your family. Yes I have been to OK many years ago.love your farm life, your truly blessed.
We had an apricot tree that dropped hundreds of apricots in our back yard one year where our Labrador Retriever stayed. We could not get them picked up fast enough to keep her from eating them. She ended up bloating and we almost lost her. So yes, most fruit trees that produce seeds are toxic to animals if they swallow the seeds.
Hey Kevin I enjoy your family's channel đâ€đđđâ€
Mojo needs a doggie cooling mat. You should be able to find one big enough for him!
A few years ago we would drive by a property that had a few cows. There was a pond in one of the fields. In the hot Summer days there would be one cow, laying on her belly in the pond, her chin would be on top of the water. Of course I didn't get a picture!
đđŒ also Apple seeds contain cyanide ,but it would take a large amount of seeds to do harm.
Omg cuteness overload Sunny is so cute đ she's a good momma to sunny
Apple seeds have cyanide too. Interesting.
thanks for sharing your farm with us Kevin.
Russell's got a crazy long tail! It was in the 90s last week with a feel.like temp of about 101
Have a safe holiday Everyone
Maybe to pools should be in the shade
Those pools of water should be in shade. What are you thinking?
Well, it's Florida. Like stepping outside to take care of the chickens...immediately soaked in sweat. I'm getting a few inches of hair taken off on Tuesday, and hopefully, that will help.
Nice to see things from a different perspective. Great video thanks. Chris from England
Hi Kevin this week I am getting ready for the 4th of July here at my house. I am going to start two new paintings. They will be different from each other so to keep me from getting bored or some what frustrated. So that is what I am doing this week this was a great video. God bless you and until next time take care now.
Itâs cool here in north Iowa today. Hope it stays for awhile. No plans for the 4th. Just stay home and relax. May have a garage sale next week and weekend. Enjoy your 4th.
Thanks Kevin for another great video. Itâs been really hot. Glad all the animals are doing good!?yâall have a great week. Love yâall .â€blessings from OKC.â€
Hey Kevin...I'm here in NW Louisiana and omg is it hot. I have fans in all my chicken pens (they free range in the day time) in the barn just to circulate the air. Mojo needs a box fan on the porch. This summer is going to be brutal. I love your videos. Have a Happy 4th and y'all stay safe and cool.
Loved the video Kevin...nice to see the animals....dogs etc.... Stay safe and see you on the next one
Double check that you shut off the water.đ§ đ§
Grape seeds have sianide also! Possible apple too.
Can I suggest putting the water pools in the shade? And the water tanks too if possible.
I'm glad that pecans are good to go
Love your videos, thanks đ„°
Wellness check done so go and enjoy your day out⊠unfortunately our weather in UK is wet and dull⊠we donât know whatâs happened to our summer but canât even see any good weather over the next few weeksâŠ
Itâs hot đ„” here too in California
How's MOJO doing in the heat? Has he used his a/c shelter yet? †luv your videos and family
Too hot to think! Ya'll stay cool!
That's a super good spot, the fort.
Hi Smeigal. Youâre a pretty boy.
Didn't know you built your own home; that's awesome. Very nice property. What all do you farm. Love the MOJO.
I thought Mojo would be getting to go in the shop because you said you were putting it in for him. â€
I hope you remembered to turn the water off in the goat penn whit the emu'sđ€
Itâs hot here in central Arkansas, too. Stay safe and cool. đđâ€ïžđșđžâïž

We call them choke cherries in Wisconsin. I made Jelly out of them, it was great.
My grandmother made choke cherry wine and jelly..
Enjoyed as always.
Stay safe.â€đđ
Have fun on the boat!
I always enjoy the walks about the farm.
Pretty much all fruit seed is not to be eaten. At least that's how I look at it. If I give fruit to my chix or dog, I remove the seed.
We had a wild cherry tree on our property here in Virginia we just bought it and I thought oh yeah this is great cherries but I found out the same thing early on thank goodness because we had horses and of course one of them he was a little Shetland he would eat anything so we immediately went out and I hated to do it but we cut down the cherry trees so look out George Washington
