Spray the nest and then squash the nest!!! I was attacked by wasps, 4 LARGE nests, and had 13 wasps sting me on my head and shoulders…..I get you Kyle!! I felt like I had the flu for 2 wks! The doctor told me I could have anaphylactic reaction! Wasps are not my friend (or yours!)
YES, MAKE SURE THOSE LARVA DON"T HATCH BY STOMPING THAT NEST!
🙏🙏🙏
I spray the nest. Then I spray the nest again and knock it down. Then, I burn that flipping nest. Then, on to the next one, rinse and repeat!
The disdain I have for wasps, hornets, yellow jackets, and carpenter bees is extreme. That will never change, ever. Honeybees are just fine with me. We need them for many reasons.
Keep on keeping on, Brothers and Sisters!
Godspeed.
You are so lucky you didn't go into shock or have heart failure! God Bless!
@@bettyflinchbaugh3731 - I know! I am just very careful and keep the wasp spray foam all the time! The thing was that I had gone to Home Depot and got the wasp spray and was checking the lights on the porch, as we were getting my parents house ready to sell. I got distracted by paper flyers in the bush and the wasps took exception to me stepping out on the porch! 🤷🏼♀️🤦🏼♀️
Herc says “deer are not bad..not predators… they can visit anytime 😍”.
Happy Canada Day to all Canucks watching! 🎉 Happy Forth of July!🎉
Wow, Shannon was afraid of birds. But walks up and does a close check out with the wasps....... lol
🎉love how Herc always has something in his mouth...adorable❤
Since Chad has already installed his canopy, and Kyle and Grandpa still need theirs put on, it would be great to see all the Doss men come together for an install day!
Love Shady Acres and everything you have done so far.
Do it for Grandpa while he's recuperating
I’m sorry Shannon but watching you flinch when the birds flew down the hill was one of my favourite videos x
Please keep us in your prayers. A storm just took out our only car. But, God is good, it spared our house.
Thank you guys for sharing your lives with us, and especially your faith! We enjoy Shannon's sister and her family! You can see GOD'S anointing upon them! GOD Bless you!
🩷🥰❤️
The baby keets are so cute and good for u Shanon for holding one and with the wasps spray the heck out of the hives ❤️🇨🇦
It looked like Kyle was gonna ride Spruce like a motorcycle😂😂
Great video as usual! How cute to see Shanon cuddling that keet! You guys are fantastic and are doing a great, fantastic, wonderful, beautiful job with y'alls animals/birds on y'alls land/farm!! Enjoy and you both are good stewards of what the Lord has given! 😉😉👍👍🥰🥰
Have a blessed 4th of July! And God bless America 🇺🇸 🙏
You do you. People will always have their own ways of doing things but that doesn’t mean it’s the only way to do it. Congratulations on the baby guineas ❤❤❤❤❤.
Amen!
Howdy Kyle and Shanon, your doing right always wait until after dark to stray wasp nest. Because they are all the nest at that time. God bless you both and your whole family...🙏🙏🙏
Oh yes Chad just described how he did that cover 🤣🤣 I’d definitely wait for assist.
We love everything you guys do. Your great. Love all the animals. God bless you all. Prayers for you all. Best family ever
So proud of Shanon! She sure has came a long way with birds❤ proud of you both doing so well with the wasp too❤
What about a metal structure over the camper? In the space between, you could insulate it. Should help stop heat from entering in the summer, keep rain and snow directly off the roof to lessen chance of a leak, still allow opening the vents on the ceiling, and hold in a lot more heat in the winter. A structure like that wouldn't need to be 'permanent', but could be a longterm storage area if/when you build a permanent house. Just a thought.
Well...would you look at that.... Shannon holding the baby bird!! WAY TO GO! SOO PROUD OF YOU!! Prayers for the week ahead to be filled with many blessings for the Doss family 🙏💞🙏
Shannon get a plastic bag. Turn it inside out around your hand and pickup up the nest and then close it up and throw away so you can still use your diesel.
Ive also raised lots of guineas and other poultry over the years. Never dipped a beak. I keep watching all these other homesteaders who do it and wonder why.
On other sights, I've seen bee removal people take the larva back to their chickens. It was a massive surge to get to those unborn bees.
I don't know if guinea eat them, and it would not be good to give them to any animal after you spray wasp killer, but you can always use the container of gasoline.
I totally get the fear caused by flying weapons. And they chase you around like they own the air within 500 feet of your body.
Love all you precious people and animals. God bless until eternity.
The wasp king guy vacuumed the nest with a shop vac filled with soapy water. They drown in the water. Soap breaks the surface tension so they can't sit on top of the water. They cant fly if their wings arecwet either. He gave the larva to his chickens but he didn't use wasp spray on the nest. If I recall, he only sprayed the remaining areas in the homes and areas he was called to remove wasp nests from.
Congrats of the new babies ! I’m with you Kyle ….. need more eggs. My Great Granny had what seemed like hundreds of Ginnie’s and they lived in the woods where we all played , never had a tick issue… dense woods of N.C. Good luck and take care in that heat.
Love and enjoy watching your videos. May the lord bless and protect you and Kyle and the animals
Happy 4th of July I will turn 62 on the 4th god bless you and your family this 4th be safe out there
Happy birthday 🎊
Happy Early Birthday! My Sis also was born on the 4th.
Happy Birthday!🙏🥰
Happy birthday! 🥳
Happy 4th/birthday! lol lol ❤
Kyle, I was thinking the same thing. When Hercules was sitting in his water and might see some 🫧 come up from the bottom. 😂 😂 👅
Hi Kyle and Shannon, Yes I would listen to Shannon and get some help putting that canopy on the tractor. You are better to be smart than in a wheel chair!! Love you guys God bless you and until next time take care now.
great video tonight, but then it always is. love you guys, stay safe, and may God bless!
Wow! I hadn't realized just how big some of the babys horns are till just now😊😊😊
HELLO KYLE AND SHANON 😊❤ THE BABY BIRDS ARE SO CUTE🐦❤️ SHANON YOU HAVE COME SO FAR WITH THE BIRD BIRDS. SO CUTE HOLDING THE BABY ❤ JUST LOVE BRUCE LEE NECK NUTS SO CUTE.😅 KYLE YOU ARE GETTING SO BRAVE WITH THE PESKY WASPS🐝 LOVE HERC IN THE POOL😅 PRINCESS NALLA IS JUST LIKE MY PRINCESS BELLA WITH TREATS AND TOYS.😅 SPRUCE LEE IS DEFINITELY LIKE HIS FATHER😊 LOVE YOU KIDS❤️🥰 HAVE A HAPPY 4TH🎉 HUGS AND PRAYERS FROM CONNIE SUE, BELLA & BUBBA 👩🏻🦳🙏❤️
Kyle you should make a trade day for putting the canopy on the tractor. You help your dad and he helps you. Just a thought for you. Larry looks like he is sporting a high and tight hair style. My dog jumped up onto the bed as I was bending down to put my shoes on and my nose was broken by the act, stars and immediate drop to the knees. Thanks so much for sharing your life’s story and God bless
My best friends just mowed over a ground wásps nest! He got over 50 bites and is so sick. Immediately started throwing up, shaking and so much pain!
Oh my that’s horrible hope and prayers for your friend 🙏❤️
That's a nightmare!!! 😳🤢 Prayers for him! 🙏🏻🩷
Hope he got med help!?
Oh my 💔🙏🏻
@@kathylebarron9957 he finally did. She said it was a swarm. Terrifying
I love it when Herc hides his bone and other things, using his snout to pat the dirt down is hilarious! ❤
They are sooo cute. I want one.
That was a neat video y'all. The little baby guineas are so cute and Shannon, I am proud of you and how far you have come in learning their habits and holding them etc. That bone you got for Herc, Kyle, I figured he would carry it for at least an hour. He was so intent to put it in just the right place. Thanks for sharing...stay cool and have a Blessed day.
Hello K&S ✨️ I'm hopeful you have a blessed week 💯
So proud of you, Shanon! Y'all are getting tougher by the minute!! lol lol Wow, that was a freaky accident with Herc! I know that hurt!! ❤
Blessings for a safe & happy Independance Day!! 💥💫🇺🇲💫💥
They are so cute 🤗
Shanon, you've come such a long way with the feathered friends! Every reason to be proud of yourself. I'm proud of you as well! Proud of Kyle too! You seem to get better with having wasps in close proximity. Oh, the pink camo cover! That unpacking video was hilarious!
Someone else I follow only had and used carburetor cleaner, better than wasp spray. Also, Guinness in the wild have their moms to teach them. You took then from their teacher.
They are so freaking cute❤🎉!
❤ I like your beard the best Kyle. It is so tidy. This was a great video!
We raised hundreds of new chicks over the years ordering them in the mail and never dipped there beaks in water.
Really. I've always seen on you tube putting baby chick's beers in water. Thank for the info. Take care
Hello you 2 cuties😊 the birds are doing good
It is so pretty there i seem to say that always.. lol to bad dang ticks ugh
I was about to comment the same thing on the last video until I saw the first one go to the water on their own. At the same time another found the food and I knew they already had good instincts.
Most always dip... At the point of delivery or after 48 hours since birth, they are week and may need guidance..Or they may die. So why not, it takes minimal time to help them?
Big hatcherys don't and they loose some. But they have many and don't care about a few
Well your beard looks the best of all you boys.
Happy 4th to y'all 😊
Sweet Hercules. Hundreds of years from now someone will dig up all of his bones and freak out. They'll call all of their friends over and tigether work for days putting all of those bones together into some weird prehistoric oddly shaped animal! I hope they call it the Hercules!
😂
😆
😂❤
My dad used to keep a five gallon bucket of water (with lid) and tossed the nests in it after he sprayed the adults. Eventually He’d dump it far away so animals Didn’t get to it. Even juvenile wasps can have stingers. etc. My dad showed me a stinger he pulled out of his thick boot heel. I’m not a wasp fan either! He was concerned spraying near the animals, so he’d spray the adults then had a grabber for the nests.
Shirtless Jake just found a nest and he sprayed it with carburettor and air intake cleaner. Instant annihilation! Beautiful. Just thought that you might like an alternative sometimes. Good luck x
As far as your travel trailer goes, go ahead & build a pole barn over it now. 6x6 poles and a roof system. It will help you guys out so much. God bless.
We couldn’t keep our 32 ft cool, even put in a portable ac, and blacked out the windows, but once we put up a metal awning we never had an issue again and didn’t need to use the portable ac anymore. A sun screen over it would help until you can build or purchase an awning…..
I think you should hatch another round of eggs if you can find the nest. 😊
Me too!
Great episode Shannon and Kyle so pleased the Keats are doing well. You’ve come so far Shannon seeing you hold one amazing you really didn’t like them before I think following the process from egg to keat may of helped too. Stay cool and ask for help please Kyle have a great week take care and God bless💕🙏
I hear you and I it them first thing in morning when cooler and less active. I have used WD-40, bleach water, wasp long distance spray🙄I have gone around and spray anything that could be a potential nest spot for any bee. I spray my yard (animal safe) to try and keep all bugs eliminated. TY, and enjoyed. Little bird birds are adorable. Good for you, living you life, making your own decisions. Love all babies❤❤⭐️⭐️
take it out and step on it.
Spruce just fancied eating some TWIG-lets 🤣 We know you ❤️ PINK KYLE hehehe
Happy 4th of July 🎇🎇
Someone might have suggested this but if not… it might be a good idea every time you go to check on the chicks to put a little snack (can be just feed) in your hand and lay your hand down where they can come up and eat directly from your hand - when you do it make a certain sound - the same sound each time - this is how you get them to come to you when you call them when they’re grown ❤
Saying hello from Iowa
Hi from Nebraska love all your family❤❤
Sooooo PROUD of you guys. Well done both of you for braving your fears x
WASP spray is different. I use the non-foaming version of the same thing you are using because when I buy the foam it sometimes takes 2 spraying to kill everything. The non-foaming version kills on contact. Sorry for the comment about dipping the beaks of the keets. I have never raised anything but chickens and I was told you had to do that.
You need to step on the wasp nests
The babies are so cute
PhD entomologist here just roflol!
You two are quite a team!!!
Loved seeing Herc with his new bone. He looked so proud.
I could be wrong, you research it more. If you hatch them they will reject them and not recognize that they are their offspring... You see how the nests get demolished in the wild. Probably will not survive unless in a protective pen. Love watching your videos, the best.. Susan
I ENJOYED WATCHING THE VIDEO KYLE AND SHANNON ❤😊
You have to remove the nest or they will come back. Take a spatula or tongs and get it out and step on it to kill the larvae before they hatch
I remember that your dad got the tractor cover
Happy 4th July. Ya I will turn 75 on the 20th. Be careful out there. I've seen all your family's videos today. We are N.C.
Are in N.C. lol. This is what happens when you get older lol
I turned 75 in May! I was born in NC but have lived in Texas for most of my life. The best of both worlds. Happy Birthday ahead of time because I forget (I'm 75 ya know 😂😂)👍🙏🥰
@carolwilkerson9341 Happy early birthday. Mine is also the 20th 😊
@@COG78 Happy early Birthday! 🙏🥰
Happy birthday also
Have a Happy 4th.
Instead of calling him dukey call him Duker.
I love what you are doing with your birds.
So much fun at Shady Acres!
I know how you feel about the heat I live in Palm Springs California and it gets up to 120 and higher
Thanks for your common sense!! Animals of all kinds know how to find the water!! Sheesh, I was beginning to think these people that dunk chick beaks in water also dunked their dog's noses, cattle noses, goat noses, etc, in water, too. I'm afraid to think what they do with pet fish.
😆 fish!
Herc is so funny trying to hide his bone
❤❤
Another great video love yall 💖 💖💖💖 all the goats look wonderful herkman looks wonderful too hope all the baby keeps does well hope ya have a wonderful week take care God bless yall and all of your families too
😊
step on the nest ❤
The baby birds are so cute. Loved watching Herc with his bone and trying to find a spot to put it. Keep Smiling. Stay Safe, and Have a Happy Forth of July. 🎆🎆🎆 God Bless. ❤🙏
Hello Sweet Couple!! 🙋♀️🦋✨️
I hope you guys will try and hatch more babies. That way, you will always have some replacement.
And another atfer that And so on
I'm with you Kyle. Wasps, actually any bees except honey and bumble, are the scariest thing to me. We had many Ortho spray cans to take care of many nests. Also had them build in the ground in our pasture.😳🥺
One of the videos I watched today he used cabaret fuel spay and it work. Hes dad told him to use it
Happy Canada Day 🇨🇦
From Ontario Canada 🇨🇦
Aww proud of you Shanon! Oh and Happy Independence Day to everyone.
Herc is such an awesome dog!❤️🙏🏻🇺🇸🇳🇮
No Chad was waiting for that comment 😅😅 @ 19:30
😂
I did ask if you dipped their beaks, out of curiosity...lol...I would never tell ya'll what to do as you are doing a great job! 🤗👍
It's so icky that the larva was moving! Get'um again! 😋
God bless you, and your crew! ❤
Wear dryer sheets. It keeps bees and wasps away. When having a picnic put a couple on each table also.
They are so cute! Pretty with the stripes
Yes they can still hatch! That’s why you squish the nest after the adults are gone. ✅
Love hugs and Prayers from Shop Spring Tenn Was I not paying attention but I didn't see bruno and his sticks. Love you 2 and all the aminals. God Bless.
Kyle and Shannon I appreciate you sharing your adventures with me.
Dont let the negative nellys get to you..Keep being you. I appreciate both of you..
I think people are just trying to be helpful when recommending things . Only because y’all are newbies to the farm life.❤
Step on the hive.
Happy 4th of July. God bless stay safe until the next video 💓 😍
❤❤❤❤
FYI on a DIY… Dawn and water in a sprayer work real good on bees and other critters, cost much less too.
