I'm glad he jumped on that and calmly and clearly straightened out that labeling stuff. I hope all goes well for him, and that everyone realizes that he's punishing himself more than anyone else ever could. Respect to you Stan
She should never have called Stan a goon, nor should she have talked about his personal life outside of hockey. Stan showed he is a true gentleman. She never followed hockey and it showed.
Why would she call him a goon??? She obviously knows nothing about hockey or hockey history nor who Stan Jonathan was as a player. She embarrassed herself right there but she's too stupid to realize it. And at the end of the interview, she questions his toughness based on his reaction to a tragic accident. What a disgrace this woman is!
I am a Habs Fan but full respect to Stan Jonathan. He was tough as nails and never backed down from anyone. He also was a good player not a goon. I wish him well and thank him for his efforts to the game.
Stan is a warrior, leader, inspiration and a human being. He showed a lot of class in this interview. Tough when he had to be but he does have a huge heart and a loving family man. There is forgiveness in the world because he takes responsibility for himself.
Stan Jonathan was not a goon. The reporter did not look at his career stays. She looked at his fighting resume.the same with Chris Nilan he was not a goon either. Look at John wensink he was not a goon either theses guys could score goals
I am an old Ranger fan. Hated the Bruins and Jonathan back in the day. But always respected them and him. Respect Stan so much more now as he has shown himself to be such a humble and decent man.
stan jonathan is a legend, the way the game was played in jonathans era and the way he beat the piss out of Dupont the back stabber 3rd man in in all fights, love u stan
Yeah that was dead wrong. Stan was a damn good hockey player who didn't take crap from anyone. Nor did he put up w/someone else picking picking on his team mates.
Goons as a rule don't score much, and Stan could fight when the time came, He was a darn good player, who won on hard work he's what you call a Grinder.
RAG fan here remember that era well - Stan was a real pain in the rear but would have loved to have him on my team. He mentions taking care of Rick Middleton and Jean Ratelle - worst trades in RAG history.
I'm not a Bruins fan, but I always had tremendous respect for the team and its overall organization. This certainly was one team the old "Broad Street Bullies" couldn't intimidate. Of note, I also agree with others here... Stan Jonathon was no "goon". He was a talented hockey player who took it upon himself to protect his fellow teammates while on the ice. Who can argue with that??
This reporter is completely off side when she refers to him as a goon. Stan Jonathan handled this entire interview with class and professionalism, something that is sadly lacking in this reporter.
He broke my heart when he defeated Pierre Bouchard. But as we say that's part of the game. He seems a real nice guy and his strenght was astonishing. Long life Stan Jonathan from a big Canadien fan.
Much respect I have a new found Appreciation for him, I never heard Him speak… I love that he gives Praise, honor glory to our creator May Christ be with him and his situation! I will pray for him .. Anyone else?
He is one guy who I would not want to play against. Perhaps the best fighter ever lb for lb. I think that he was 5'7 and 165 lbs but he fought like he was 230 lbs. I would have loved to see him with the Habs.
Stan you were definitely one of my favorite Bruin of all time, to have Jonathan, o'Reilly and wensink on the same line, man that's a lot of fists flying around. Have to pick my favorite fight with Jonathan and Bouchard from the Canadiens..boy Stan did a number on bouchards face
What a disrespectful horrible job by an interviewer who clearly was not familiar with Jonathan's career. Pound-for-pound one of the greatest fighters in Bruins history but much more than that he was an all-around player he had skill and he could score...
Think the reporter was a bit rude and disrespectful at the beginning...those days you scored goals and fought they were complete players....Stan Jonathan was one of if not thee best fighter in the NHL this guy took on many guys bigger than him butt never did I see him lose a fight...google his fights you will not find one he lost period.
Don’t know why everyone is against this reporter, she asked tough questions. There’s nothing wrong with that. For some people claiming Montreal of the 70s dominated Boston and the rest of the league,…they are correct. GHG

Calling Stan a goon was a regrettable choice of words. He was a real team player and one of our favorites.
The G Word. 😂
This chick is an idiot....have some respect
She was just trying to make a name for herself with idiotic questions. She should stick to figure skating.

Nah, he was a goon.

Calling him a goon, pissed me off.

@@davidbarton1806There are many excellent female sports journalists and it’s unfortunate that she had embarrassed them.

We love you
Stan Jonathan was an awesome player. He could play any style of hockey the opponent wanted to play. I can see why Grapes loved him.
Stan Jonathan was not a goon. The reporter did not look at his career stays. She looked at his fighting resume.the same with Chris Nilan he was not a goon either. Look at John wensink he was not a goon either theses guys could score goals
@Les Moore It was wrong of her to bring it up. I get the feeling she is pretty stupid.
Of course she didn't research her subject before interviewing him. She's young, dumb and certainly not a journalist.
Even though I was Flyers fan, nothing but love and respect for lil Stan, what a class act. Nobody tougher pound for pound...
He was one tough Native Canadian just like those who played before and after him in the NHL...

Stan Jonathan!! Great player; lots of goal. Fearless. Love this guy!!!!
