This was such a huge lift at the time, my girlfriend passed away just seven days before this Game 7. I was badly in need of something to be happy about and the Bruins delivered! The amazing thing about this series was that the 3 games that Boston lost were decided by one goal and all 4 of their wins were by 3 or more goals
May your girlfriend continue to rest in peace. I'm glad this game gave you something positive during a difficult time.
She sold her soul for that game 7. I would do the same thing😂 But fr, may she Rest In Peace
Wow, well I'm terribly sorry your girlfriend died, glad you have something to be happy about, at my expense nonetheless. But no Cup is worth the life of a loved one. I hope though that she at least knows the mystery of Heaven's hope of glory in Christ.
sorry for ur loss. I hope ur doing better and may ur girlfriend forever rest in peace. Keep staying strong!
Years later , I wonder how far you were looking back when you posted this , damn I’m sorry about your girl Bro , if your in ya 20s I’ve got a feeling what may have taken her , well it’s 2023 things are even worse in the city let’s hope we can Expel FLA
Damn, that was some next level Bettman booing.
ikr
morons don't even know why theyre doing it
Bettman probably hid in the building for a few hours. had he gone outside, half of Vancouver would have murdered him.
Ikr 😂
They should have bood the bruins that hard in the beginning
The 2011 Stanley Cup Finals...or as I like to call it, "SAVE BY THOMAS!"
who is CHOKE and why is he trying to buy Luongo? :(
Zach Milesmiles
One of the greatest goalie performances in Finals history. Dude was a beast out there.
More like CHOKE BUY LOUNGO
God I miss Thomas
I thought it was really classy of Vancouver to play "Dirty Water" for them.
redwingsmike3718 until they rioted
The Canucks fans didn't stay to cheer on the champions; they stayed to boo loudly to show their displeasure about losing the series. Although, I have yet to find a gracious opposing fanbase to congratulate the Stanley Cup champions on enemy ice. Such is the NHL
igotanM16 Fans only boo Gary Bettman. Not the team celebrating. Only fan base I can think of that actually booed the celebration was Nashville
Joe: Then again, getting screwed by a quick whistle (especially in an elimination game) will cause any fan base to do that.
igotanM16 dumfuck theyre booing gary bettman
I was afraid Chara was going to scrape the roof of the arena with the Cup.
Fucking held it 60 feet over his head, what a giant
Oh that's what it was? The Stanley Cup... And I was hoping I made an UFO sighting
I thought he was going to chuck it when he first raised it
ShepShep5 If Laviolette had just conceded the 2010 finale to my Rangers, I would’ve respected him a little bit more. I don’t think he won fair and square. Like I said, I think he rigged that game in his favor. Laviolette should be behind bars.
Lol your funny man good job boston and vancouver you put your hard work into reality
When Bergeron and Marchand play like this...the Bruins are very hard to beat (Marchand is very underrated)
Little weasel bitch boy
Don't worry pal. I agree. That pussy from Montreal is upset that his team hasn't won a cup in a while.
BlackopsKid I would hate Marchy if he was on say the Habs, or Penguins. Lol he has black n gold immunity!
***** We played the HABS during that Stanley Cup win, oh, and beat them too. Remember Hortons OT winner? lol
Bergeron plays well all the time and is the best player on the Bruins. Marchand is the one that is up and down.
Literally the best day ever. I will never forget watching this game at my buddy's place in the north end of Boston and running out into the streets in front of the garden right before the end whistle. The stuff of dreams, Boston is the greatest city in the world.
Yeah, well it is the worst day ever for Vancouver. That cup was ours. It was destiny.
@@broadstreet21you guys will be back I’m sure, idk if the bruins will cause we fell off hard😂
@@wills3210 Haha, we'll see. It took a lot for Vancouver to even get to 2011. Getting back would require something like Bedard foregoing any extension in Chicago beyond 2030 and coming here in free agency, then surrounding him with the right players, not an easy task, plus how many other moves? Oh, and McDavid would need to hit his decline by then, Edmonton would have to fail to retain key players to help in his older years. So many things need to go right before Canucks can get back there.
@@wills3210 Besides, we also come off hosting the Olympics, just beat out the Hawks, and were set to go meet Prince William and Princess Kate, first in Ottawa on Canada Day, then they would come to Vancouver. The script was set, and then it was blown out, gone with the wind.
@@broadstreet21 maybe you’re right but it would be cool to see them back in the playoffs at least
The September 11 of Vancouver. The Canucks were never the same after this.
Yep. And Bruins fans belted out the Everybody Knows Your Name song while Canucks fans reenacted South Park and later said "Love means never having to say you're sorry." Very appropriate because Love Story was made the same year the Canucks first played and when Bobby Orr scored his famous goal.
As a Ranger fan, I actually rooted for Boston in this series. I love it because it makes Flyer fans angry.
It was a traumatic day for Vancouver, and much of Canada. With the sheer number of broken hearts, I wasn't surprised a riot broke out.

love ya man
Man I could watch this everyday.
me too!!!
juststained I do watch it every day
I watch it often. Thomas and the boys put one up for Horton.
OK I hope you're watching now.
Oh oh YES. It be happening. It will be hard to top that comeback against Vancouver after what happened to Horton. I have a Boston Horton, Orr and Lucic Jerseys.
A battle between two amazing goaltenders. What a series.
unfortunately only one showed up all 7 games
I Like When Chara got So Happy and Hype while holding the cup.
Lucic was my absolute favorite player ever in Boston, he still is my favorite player but I loved it when he got cheered when he had the cup
+Greysen Gagné I've had my Lucic jersey since '09 & the '10 winter classic jersey
+Greysen Gagné hey I saw it live so how do u think I felt lol 😅
+Spencer haidy I was at that game you can't see me in the crowd but I was there.
I swear if anyone makes a John Cena joke.......
+Spencer haidy Looch is the fucking man. Any Canuck killer is a proud addition to our squad.
this is what you call pure carnage. the bruins fucking gave it so bad to the canucks on game 7 in the rogers arena (canucks home ice) , and caused a big ass fucking riot in vancouver. if you dont call that bad ass, i dont know what to say. just watch tim thomas's highlights in the 2011 playoffs. you will literally get CHILLS
ZUUBRUINS New York did too in 94 in Game 7
@@pottytheparrot310that WAS a hell of a team the Rangers had in 1994. But there’s one major difference between that Rangers team and this Bruins team. The 1994 Rangers were heavy FAVORITES in the Finals. The 2011 Bruins were heavy UNDERDOGS in the .
10 years later and still gives me goosebumps
Tim Thomas really led this Boston team basically by himself in 2011. He gave his teammates all the confidence they needed to capture this championship.
it is refreshing to hear a canucks fan who admits the bruins deserved to win that series
Luongo was in the blue paint for those 3 goals.
Marchand skating, stick handling and shooting skills show in this game.
Much respect to the Canucks fans clapping when the bruins raised the cup, they are the true Canucks fans
I will always remember these Bruins in the 2011 Playoffs.
Long live Bergy, Recchs, Luc, and the boys...

Yes it is the canucks fans vs bruins fans too crowded too yes

At least I got to see my Bruins win a cup
Ryalz me. Dumb pissed rn bruins played like shit
Me, I’m so sad
Fuck bruins
I was there for game 4 of the 2013 SCF. Lost 6-5 in OT. Still one of the best games I've ever seen. The Blackhawks AND the Blues were tough as hell.
@@geordiejones5618 the only reason the Blackhawks won because Chicago kept whining and complaining about how they haven't won a title since the Chicago Bulls
Seeing Andrew Ference win it was great to see.
Andrew Ferrence is a solid guy
Big dick Ference.
Long shlong Andy.
Andrew "I Want Andy" Ference
Ference wasn't the best defenseman, but he LOVED being a Bruin! He gave his all EVERY game. 👍
I am a Bruins fan, but I love how with about 30 seconds, all of the Canucks fans stand and swing their towels as a salute/in respect to their team. Thanks for the great series.
The sight of Ryan Kesler in tears warms my heart.
Suck shit bitch
Adam Keyes the sight of the Kings missing the playoffs this year warms mine more
Canucks got pretty far didn't they?
It doesnt matter who you're a fan of if it's not the Hawks or Lightning. In which case thanks for beating the Rangers/Ducks. Otherwise I couldn't give a fuck.
helmand khan And with that the Canucks Cup drought is even longer than ours. Congrats Vancouver, that is one hell of a milestone.
And 1 more thing. Recchi u chose right that year. Thank you for being the team mentor:)

"Tim Thomas Earned The Cam Smythe Trophy!"
I genuinely miss this team. the big bad Bruins. I get a mix of happy and sad watching the old replays
Matt Damics20 Canucks too. Burrows, Bieksa, Luongo, Schneider.
Man your right those were the days firing Claude Juillian was the downfall
Starboss05 BULLSHIT! Keeping Claude after 2012 was the downfall. He cost them a Cup in 2014 and the playoffs in 15 and 16. It's no coincidence they woke up under Bruce Cassidy
KHayes666 And look what happened they lost 4 straight games in the 2nd round and almost choked to the Leafs in the 1st round. Boston is a one line team and Rask has become incredibly inconsistent.
Sev Tas That had nothing to do with Cassidy as much as it has to do with their D corps being too old or slow to catch the faster Leafs/Lightning
"We didn't lose to the British and we're not going to lose to British Columbia" I have watched this video multiple times and just now noticed that they are playing Down With Disease by Phish at 9:14 That is a first for me I have never heard any NHL hockey team play Phish, especially during the Stanley Cup playoffs.
I could watch this everyday.. I was a kid when Boston last won it with Bobby Orr.. Seen that to..
Yup, I was almost 18 when Bobby Orr last won it for Boston, my hometown. Remember WSBK, channel 38? That was the Bruins channel and I can still hear the station jingle and Fred Cusick and Johnny Pearson calling the game. We had a black and white 20" tv with rabbit ears back then and you had to quietly tip toe or you'd mess up the picture! . 🐰 What a broadcasting team they were! I miss those days. 😥
If 28:58 doesn't make your entire day complete I don't know what else does. Johnny Bucyk held the last one and having him there was amazing. He still does so much with the team it's remarkable. That was one of my favorite moments of the entire playoffs, maybe my hockey life. I loved watching the skate around Boston Garden during its last game (win against MTL), but this was special.
I’ll never forget this day. Sitting on the couch with my dad and mom being just 9 years old. My dad watching the time tick down and seeing the tears in his eyes and pure joy and bliss. I’ll never forget it. 💛🖤
Still as awesome today as it was the day it happened! Awesome! I will always be a Bruins fan, no matter what. I grew up a Bruins fan and that will never change. And I live in BC! Go Bruins Go!
Me too! I grew up in Victoria but am a lifelong Bruin's fan
8:57 Chara reaction is priceless, Burrows needs to stop taking advice from Montreal.
@ENGLANDNEWENGLAND007 I'm 34 years old, born and raised in Boston on Boston sports. I played hockey growing up, and always dreamed of seeing this day happen. I can't imagine having watched this without my dad. Thanks dad for giving me your passion for sports, and for raising me in the greatest city for sports in the world.
It never gets old. Ever. Best hockey moment of my life. Grandparents had season tickets WAY back in the 50s and the B's been part of my family all my life.
Thank you!
Love Chara's reaction to Burrows' dive at 8:56
this was the best playoff series in recent nhl history. period
this is special:) i love when game ends, fans are standing. Both fans. Vancouver fans are giving respect to Boston players and fans!:) this is hockey baby
"He'll go to lift the cup, and it will undoubtedly be the highest it's ever been held." ....Well played ;)
Wow! What a series. I am a Bruins fan but was in Vancouver for game 2. I saw Burrows score that OT goal and was stunned. I left the arena and walked around. Seemed like the entire city of Vancouver was out celebrating. All I kept thinking was "your team is up 2-0 but you haven't won anything yet". Back in Boston the Canucks really screwed up. They were cruising in this series then the cheap shot on Thorton and the Burrows nonsense of biting the finger of Burgeon woke the Bruins up. After that it wasn't even about hockey it was about pride. It was about honor. They started playing with emotion, the crowd responded and the Canucks were shell shocked. After that all the Canuck players started looking over their shoulder, playing scared and waiting for the big hits. Bruins pressed them and they wilted. Oh they won another game back in Vancouver but the first 10 minutes of game 6 sealed their fate. The hits, the Boston crowd, chasing Luongo in the first 10 minutes. Series over!
Sucks that we couldn’t win this year, but I’m proud of the team and the way so many guys stepped up and played huge roles.
The Blues did to you guys what you did to the Canucks LOL.
@@wills3210 We did choke, Bruins should have won that in 5. Yet somehow managed to lose in 7.

Well they made it to the second round this year with Halak so who knows.
Chara’s reaction to Burrows flopping was priceless 😂
Most pitiful game 7 Stanley Cup final performance i've ever seen, no surprise it was the Canucks that pulled that feat off. No fight, no heart, no cup!
Never get tired of watching this....Just like fine wine, gets better as the years go by.
Timmy proved the hockey world wrong, from final 4 while in Vermont to being the consmythe and hoisting the cup!!! the most aggressive tender in the game. Just shows stay at home goalies can put up numbers yet never win the hardware they dont deserve. Play hard and never hold back!! Tim Thomas your the dream every goalie wanted to live.
Best day of my life. I cried that night. Wow....I never thought I'd see the day. This is probably my 12th time commenting on this video saying the same exact thing. Who else thought it was wonderful when Bucyk got to lift the cup??? It was awesome!! Having him lift it back then and to lift it that night...wow what a game and what a season. I love the Bruins.

Ipknoobs1 Bruins fan that doesn't give a fuck.
It was absolutely infuriating. This was by far Vancouver's best chance - on so many levels. Furthermore, Vancouver just happened to host the Olympics the year before, their star player was also a gold medalist, then they finally conquered their main rival, and all the cards were falling their way - until it didn't.
Before this series, the Habs fans were the ultimate Bruin haters. Today, it's Nuck fans.

Bruins winning the Cup, made it so special. Thought of all the Bruins greats, because they won the Cup, for 1st time, since 1972. Thought of Bobby Orr, Cam Neely, Dallas, Ray Bourque, Cheevers, Milton Schmidt, Terry O' Reilly, Tiny Thompson. Also all for Boston teams won the championships, by Red Sox, Bruins, Patriots and Celtics. Loved each and every minute of it. More Boston Championships to come, since Boston is City of Champions, and Titletown USA.

12:21 is also unbelievably epic! Look at the Vancouver fan that is right behind Marchand (as he is celebrating the empty netter) The guy slams on the glass in disgust it is hilarious! Never noticed that until now LOL
The whole shift on the second goal was amazing, such great team play.
So epic winning 3 Game 7s amazing also as a Boston sports fan it was the last team i needed to see win having the patriots Red Sox celtics then bruins all win titles in a seven year span something no city has ever done since 2000 we haven't gone over 3 years without a parade rolling down aren streets

7 years later, the Sedins have failed to win a cup.
Eureka Opium This victory closed Vancouver’s window for a Stanley Cup with the Sedin twins, Ryan Kessler and Roberto Luongo.
6 years later and it still hurts to see how bad the canucks collapsed in this game...
I love hearing the mikes picking up all the Bruins behind the net along with Marchand saying "yahhh, r u fucking kidding me" after he scored the 4th goal, empty netter. They clearly knew at that moment they had won the Stanley Cup and it doesn't get better. Marchand was a beast that whole series. Pesky, dirty, weasily, gritty, fast, shifty, great defensively, great offensively, just all around awesome! Everything that makes Marchand a great player and why we love him in Boston. Sure he does go over the line at times and drives us nuts here and there but when he's right at the edge and just doing his thing, he's as good as there gets in the world. I was glad Canada finally got to see what we have in Marchand at this yr's World Cup. They finally realize he's not dirty, he just plays the game on the edge to get others off their game, and yes, sometimes goes over the line but when the lights turn on and it's time to show up in big games, there's no one better. Simply put, he's a big game, big series player! This Stanley Cup finals series was his coming out and he's been getting better and better ever since. Now all of the hockey world knows how great he is and there isn't one real hockey fan or team a cross the NHLwho wouldn't want him on their team. He's that type of player. He's not just the "little ball of hate" anymore, he's also one of the best players in the world.
Amazing how Marchand was one of the last here, looking at his career since

In the live replay with the team, Thomas said the only thing he wanted to do after the game was get his skates off they were killing him and Marchand said he thought Vancouver was going to comeback until he scored that last goal. That explains his happiness

When you consider how lopsided the goals were, you'd expect Boston to sweep the Canucks. But nope. The Canucks choked in Game 7 like they did in 1994
choked the series. Pathetic and by far the biggest choke in recent years
At least we didn't have a lead till late in the game and choked by allowing 2 goals 17 seconds apart in the final 76 seconds to turn a 2-1 lead into a 3-2 loss, resulting in a cup loss.
