Common problems with the E90 N52 - if you plan to keep it check the following 1. Leaking oil filter housing gasket. 2. Leaking oil pan gasket. 3. Intake/Exhaust VANOS. 4. Electronic water pump (change thermostat at the same time) - test with INPA or ISTA D or activate coolant flush sequence. 5. PCV system - especially in cold climates get clogged. I would change the PCV and all hoses considering the age of the vehicle. 6. DISA flaps/valve - a faulty PCV allows oil to enter your intake manifold corroding the DISA flaps. If you have a rough idle or lagged acceleration - replace both flaps. Test monthly with ISTA D. 7. Coils - change regularly. 8. Fuel vent hose - common item that goes bad - check engine codes; 9. Fuel cap - the rubber gets old - leads to “check engine light. 10. IBS - if not repaired will lead to long term electrical issues and premature battery wear. I have had my e90 for 5yrs. I only had minor repairs. Head cover gasket I got for $500 install $200. New starter $150 install $180, new alternator $225 install $145. The reason it is so low is because I have bmw mechanics do the work. I go and get it diagnosed and I ask them if they do side work (newsflash most of them do they make more money on the side because nobody is trying to pay dealer prices) bmw quoted ne $1400 for gasket replacement , $850 for starter replacement and $800 for alternator replacement. Insane prices. All the bmws I owned I had a bmw mechanic do it on there off time. Gotta be smarter ppl 💪🏾
I actually have the same car as you, when I accelerate to 2nd gear it kicking little bit , I put gasoline 85 on it so wha t should be the issue not sure the transmission because I have change all the oil
The E90 series is rated for Premium 91+ gasoline. Try 91 and see if that helps. Try putting car in manual mode and shift yourself and see if it does the same thing
I'm looking @ one with 189k 2 owners well kept up for $3500 in your opinion is it worth it?? I want to buy it but uts my first BMW & im scared of the high mileage.. i need something that will last a year or more...
Managed to snag a Black manual Transmission 2008 328i with all black interior back in April 2020 for 6k (brought them down from 8k by payingcash). It only had 67k miles on it with one owner when I bought it from a Cadillac dealer. I took it to my local BMW to get it fully inspected for anything wrong with it and other than the intake manifold gasket needing replacement the car was in tip-top shape. They told me that it was in amazing condition for a 2008. Got the intake manifold gasket replaced for free with the Cadillacs dealer free 3 month warranty and I've replaced all spark plugs and ignition coils since but other than that it's been running like a dream! When the previous owner first bought it they ordered it with the performance sports package so has the sports seats and a beefier steering wheel as well as oem performance intake and exhaust so sounds beautiful. It's only a 328i but it's still damn fun to drive around.

I’d say buy one with less than 120k miles if you want it to last a long time. And do maintenance of course. I just got a E60 with 146k miles, we’ll see how that goes
I just bought a 2009 BMW 528xi 145,000 miles for $4600. They had all service records and spent thousands of dollars in repairs over last year so to me it was worth it because it was maintained. Make sure it was maintained

buying one tomorrow 2007 for 2200 with extra set of 17's with snow tires, car has high miles but has had a new engine installed last year, lady was driving it when the oil filter started to leak she got it fixed but now it goes into limp mode randomly i suspect the alternator got oil in it once i get it home i will plug it into my laptop with ista good way to get familiar with ista as i need to use it to repair/ diag my bmw i3
How’d it go? You need the more expensive cable for older vehicles if using ista+ I plan on getting one
hey so im 14 and me and my dad just got me a 2007 bmw 328i and I'm very excited so is there anything I should know or common problems any tips would be much appreciated!
Great first car, mine was a 1998 BMW 323i. I would look at oil filter housing, oil pan gasket and cooling system as a whole.
Yup same except whatever I can do myself.
Whens the waterpump usually go out. I wanna got check out a 2007 328xi with 44k miles. Anything to worry about ?
Anywhere between 60-180k miles but in my cases it’s been around 90-120k range for my cars. 44k is low and should be fine.
It’s high mileage but if you know it’s well kept it should last more than a year
@@cs.studios thanks you brotha appreciate the help
Hey man. Why are you gonna install the other screen when you already have that nice one?
I wanted the idrive system but ended up keeping this one
what is low mileage to look for when buying? all the ones im seeing on fb marketplace and offer up are 120-170k range and all are priced around 4-5k
Under 100k would be good
@@cs.studios how about 107k
@@cs.studios I’m looking to buy one 2010 328i xdrive for 6bands it has 125k miles is this a good buy?
I picked up a 2007 328i hard top convertible yesterday. All original... Where's your video for add-on stereo screen, idrive, cameras ~ etc... ??
Stereo screen and backup camera is on the channel. Go to channel>videos>search e90
"Only" a 328? lol. Smoked a loud af newer challenger just today ..
@@cheezandwine139 With an e90 328i? I'll be honest I find that hard to believe if the challenger was an rt.
Beautiful car
just bought my first granny car.. 06 BMW 325i, 78k miles, fully serviced at bmw, all maintenance records,$4500,still smells new...LETS CRUZE!
Nice! I just got a 2011 528i 100k miles, needs a little work but hoping to make a video soon
NOT a granny car, lol. My granny would have to be insured for my E90, she would love it.
@@cheezandwine139 LOL I only say that because it was my first purchase from a older women who took care of the car. I agree way too slick for a granny car XD
Man y’all got a steals I bought mine for 6500$ just today with 135,756 on the meter I mean runs great sounds real healthy drive it home from Newark all the back to San Jose with no hassle what do you think
I don't see why you need a front camera? Is it to record what's going on in front of you etc like a dash cam?
Naw dash can would have been nice. It was free with my head unit so i decided on a front cam which can help in parking too
I am planning to buy a 2007 BMW 328 how much is the date does it cost to have the water pump replaced
I did the water pump myself in my 1998 bmw 323i but for the e90 i had it done by a bmw mechanic i know. You def should make friends with a bmw mechanic if you plan on having stuff done otherwise it gets expensive fast
I just bought a 2009 328i xdrive E90 6speed in 2023
Cant decide if I will purchase a 2011 328i with 112k on the odo for $8700. Need advice.
Kinda expensive honestly, imo. I sold mine for $4,000 with 101k miles, 2007 328i and that was after all the upgrades I did from my videos. I think $6,000 would be better unless it’s a fully loaded model
Looking at an 6spd 07 328i at 120,000 miles, for 4800, your thoughts ?
I’d try to lower the price to $4,500 at least. $4,000 would be good. Still decent price though. Make sure it’s been maintained
Hey nice video and where’d you get the head unit
I just added link to head unit in video description. I had forgot to add it
Hey great video i need some advice
My friend is selling his 08 e90 328i it has 188000 miles he wants $4000 for the car
He told me his mechanic changed the main things that break. And i already drove the car but since I've never owned a bmw i dont know if it would be a good buy. Any advice would help thank you
That’s a lot of miles. I bought my 2007 328i with 95k miles for $3.5k but it’s salvage title. I bought my 2002 330Ci with 98k miles for $4k. Maybe try bringing the price down.
@@cs.studios ok thats what ive been told but i just wanted more advice from you guys since you know more about these cars
Leo Dlva If you’re not a car guy you should spend that 4K on a used Toyota Corolla/Camry or Honda Civic/accord. A bmw with 188k miles is a big gamble
I have a bmw 328i 2007 manual bout i dont know what kind tha car is
E90 is sedan , E91 is wagon and e92 is coupe and e93 is convertible.
How many miles can the engine last? Looking to buy one today but has 185k miles on it
I’d expect to reach 180k-200k range with good maintenance. I’ve seen 250k+ as well so it depends. My first 1998 bmw i got at 128k and sold at 181k and it still ran fine. I’d try and find one under 130k though
THANKYOU
i’m new to bmw, i wanna get one to daily drive , is a 2008 328i with 124k miles worth it ??? i wanna try to get the guy to sell for 4.5k
Yeah they can generally go higher like 180k , 200k etc but just need to make sure it was maintained well
I’ll probably pick one up in 23 and give it to my son for a first car in a few years. I’ll sort it for him.
It’s a nice first car. Mine was a E36 1998 323i convertible in 2009
Insurance is offering me $6000 for a total loss on a very clean inside and out 2008 328xi with 147200k on it. Should I haggle for more? I was hoping for $7000. What does everyone think?
It has premium package, cold weather and comfort access.
I think considering the miles it’s a fair amount. You can try for more but idk if they’ll do it
@@cs.studios Thanks for your feedback. But after looking closer the ACV is $5101 the 6K is after the sales tax and vehicle replacement % bump.
:I also forgot to subtract the deductible so its a total of like $6,400.
that color is tuff
Hello did you end up fixing the faded paint on top
Even after cutting compound and polish, it didn’t help. We ended up getting a wrap in black color.
I got one for 700 bucks but it’s not turning on it’s been sitting for 5plus years any ideas it cranks
Try charging the battery to 100% or try jump starting. Maybe some fresh gasoline
Hello, I am thinking about bying an e90 328I 2007, What do you recommend ? What is the fuel consumption of such cars in 2022 ? Thanks
325i 328i 330i are all fine. Watch out from 335i as the earlier ones had issues. Mpg is around 28mpg in hwy city around 19-20 not bad
@@cs.studios Thank you man!
Does this video like conclude with the 325i too?
Yes 325/328/330 are all inline 6 naturally aspirated engines. They all have basically same issues.
yo I saw a 2007 bmw 328i for 22k miles for $3500 do you think i should get it ?
I would, 22k miles? Ship it to me lol
do you still have the car, how reliable is ? how pricy is to maintain ?
I sold it to my friend but i can an eye on it. Still going strong
My friend is selling his 2008 328i he has tints all around he just purchased the car for $6,000 and he is upgrading to a G8 so he is selling the 328i only down fall in my opinion it has 144k miles he wasn’t to sell it to me for 6k since he got tints on I was just wondering if it’s a good deal..plus I’m not new to the bmw scene so I can do labor on my own
What’s the price? $6,000 is okay but not a super good deal. I would make sure he has done all maintenance
my friend just sold me his for $3,000, he did 8-10k in work for car repairs and all that. Only thing it needs is power steering, wiring headlights and probably brakes in the future. 3,000 for 136k miles, do you think it was a good deal?
@@lilponyy6221 omg yes

I just bought a bmw 328i 2008 for 3700$ with 166k on it , Not really sure if that’s a good deal or not ? It has no problems so far
If the condition is good and it was well maintained then it’s decent deal
Please the BMW 330i and the 328i both 2007 which is better???
330i
(This would be my first car so I wanna be knowledgeable if it’s worth buying or not) so on the Facebook marketplace this person is selling a 2007 BMW Series 3 · 328xi Sedan 4D with 153k miles 2 owners new coils, plugs, new belt, new battery for 3800 should I buy it or no? I think it’s a good deal but I wanted confirmation first 😂
That’s pretty good. Be careful of oil filter housing gasket leaking and valve cover gasket if those haven’t been replaced. I just bought a 2009 528xi 146k miles for $4600. Should be making video in 2 weeks
@@cs.studios so other then that what else should I ask about the car ?
I’d just look around for leaks and ask about any transmission issues. If they maintained it, it should be fine
Thanks for the video. Tell your brother Aziz Ansari I said hi.
Lmao he aint sharing the wealth so i gotta make it on my own
yooo that's a dope car bro, i'm trying to save up for one!
Until the timing chain snaps and the engine goes bang.
Adam Tuplin you musta bought a $1.5k 328 with 190k miles
No a 320d with 90,000 the engine went at 100k
@@Adam_____________ huh I've never heard of a 320d

Hey is do you think 6,500 is a good deal for 2007 bmw 328i 97,000 miles clean title?
Seems like a fair deal especially in todays market
@@cs.studios one more questing what do you think about a 2005 bmw 330ci with 66000 miles for $12,000?
Just picked up a e90 328i two days a ago and now it’s leaking coolant
My E46 330Ci is leaking coolant lol. I’m gonna do a cooling system overhaul. I’d look into the water pump
Welcome on board Pal, its just the beginning... but Its a great car too
i want this but the 6 speed manual
Found one for $5000 with 149,000 miles should I get it I don’t have a car and just need something for the next year or so?
I would try and ask to see if it was well maintained
Make sure you know how to wrench on it. It can be reliable as long as you know how to maintain it.
Thats a lot of miles for 5k, I paid 5700 for a 6 speed with 100k miles and it had the sport package
I bought the exact same car in the exact same color in july haha
"one fun fact, this car has 4 doors" i was like what???
My first 4 door car in forever 😅
The best.
i’ve been looking for a 328i what’s good mileage if i’m looking to buy one ?
I’d say buy one with less than 120k miles if you want it to last a long time. And do maintenance of course. I just got a E60 with 146k miles, we’ll see how that goes
@@cs.studios in today day how is it running so far ?
