If you are interested in the GPU deals I mentioned:
RX 7900 XTX drop to $849.99 on Newegg: howl.me/cl66RAg4Atc
7800 XT for $479.99 howl.me/cl661NHD29e
As mentioned in the video, both require a Newegg+ membership to get the discount, but when I checked the membership appears to be completely free.
Disclosure: This is not a sponsored post, but I did use an affiliate link so I can earn money on qualifying purchases through the link at no additional cost to you.
The 7800 XT is decent for anything under $500, but the 7900 XTX is just not interesting as is. It should've launched at $799, and the fact that it's not there a year and a half later is incredibly disappointing.
For the 13900k/14900k issues, I put quite a bit of time into it. In most cases, it would be fine and most aren't going to run those processors very hard. So the performance and bursts you'll get in gaming (since it doesn't use anywhere close to 24 cores) will be fine. In my case, it was only for all core loads like decompression. If you are installing a repack, and crash, it's not them it is in fact you and your CPU. On a Gigabyte Z790 MB, I finally settled on PL1 253w, PL2 253w, and Core Cache Current at 400a for limits. Originally I did 253w/253w @ 307a and was no longer going over 200w due to a current EDP throttle, in which temps were great (70 C would had been high for an all core workload). Tested multiple games (Horizon Forbidden West primarily) and no drops in fps (they don't use all cores anyways). I think it is when all cores are being called upon that power spikes were occuring. In my case, I had more than enough cooling yet I would still crash before hitting the 100 C thresh hold during a decompression and utilization of all cores to 90%+. However, once it hits above 253w, the rate at which the CPU heated up was definitely faster than the water on my 420mm AIO could even heat up, so perhaps I did hit above 100 C and it was so fast that reporting software couldn't report it fast enough before a crash, IDK. If you want to control temps though, simply setting your cache core current between 307a (what the 13900k is rated for) and 400a (extreme profile) will control the wattage (or throttle it). With the 253w/253w/400a, I'm at 0% throttle in each category according in XTU, and no longer getting higher than 80 C on the most hardworking cores. Maybe this is helpful, maybe not. I did finally finish an install of a repack as well that crashed 10 times previously (at first within 60 seconds). When I did 253w/253w but left core cache current at auto, I did crash still at the back end of the install. 253w/253w/400a limits finally completed the install for me (took 30 minutes of hard CPU work to install).
It's really refreshing how open and honest you are even to the point of explaining that you benefit from the affiliate links posted. I appreciate the honesty.
Tooooo long video. I'd like more concise format. Looks like you repeat yourself often.
So currently, when you dev in UE5, they have disabled hardware raytracing because it is causing massive issues with crashing. I think as they finish the feature set of UE5, they will likely move towards optimization/bugfix and (if possible) at that point you will see raytracing being enabled again.

CPUs should all be tested at the officially supported settings.
None of the modern CPUs are benchmarked at the supported specs
Memory: For Intel, that means DDR5 5600 and for AMD its DDR5 5200 or slower if you use 4 sticks of RAM
Power: For Intel that means significantly lower sustained power. AMD seems to have an actual max power spec that MB makers use.
Clock Speed: No PBO for AMD or thermal boost etc for Intel - I'm sure there are more settings that are listed as an overclock from both CPU makers.
If you want to show supported speeds and OC speeds in reviews you can, but you really need to consider the official configuration as the baseline.
100% agree. Some reviewers do though, like GN. The mark of true independence
No one said the chips are unstable at the official settings. All of the problems are caused by the motherboards being overclocked too much by default.
@@etherealceleste There are a sites including Radgametools/Oodle/UE5 saying that some I9s still aren't stable when you use Intel's recommended settings
If you look at the Oodle notes on the issue you see three recommended fixes - using the correct power limits doesn't always work
1. Try going to normal power limits and change SVID to Intel failsafe
2. Try disabling multicore enhancement
3, Try reducing the CPU core multiplier.
The massive default OC on some motherboards is undoubtably the major cause of the stability issue
This is why I say that reviews should rank CPUs based on how they work at the CPU manufacturers recommended settings and not at some default OC.
💯 right.
don't change the title 😊

Few more driver releases like this and maybe Arc will finally reach the potential it needed at launch! Seriously though, it's good to see Intel making great gains still and rewarding those people that took a chance on Arc. Let's hope many of these optimizations translate to Battlemage so it gets a far smoother launch.

Will there be any new motherboards releases for the Ryzen 9000? Or picking up any exiting AM5 board will be sufficient?
Just dont want to miss out on any new tech if there will be any
No. Some am5 mobos are garbage. Check HUB
@@lifemocker85 Whats hub? What AM5 for around 200 GBP would be the best option ?
@@RuRu-vm6yw hardware unboxed
8:28 Note that Strix Halo has double the bus width compared to standard APUs. 256-bit instead of 128-bit makes it essentially quad channel in standard desktop memory terms. I'd say that helps much more with memory starvation than the cache.
Also: Like the experimentation with the titles. Keep us posted on what works and what doesn't! 😀
As great as your CZcams is going please don't quit teaching. We need good people out there like you
back when i got my 10700k week after release i was unpleasently surprised with strix mb out from the box used some stupid voltages and ran cpu EXTREMELY hot. wasn't pleasant.
Daniel, I'm curious if hardware ray traced lumen is helpful for closing the gap in RT performance between AMD vs nVidia?
In the couple games I've tested it in, it has seemed to be a "lighter" RT workload where AMD doesn't fall as significantly behind as it does in something like cyberpunk or Alan Wake.
@@danielowentechThanks so much for your response. This is indeed very interesting! AMD really needs to see what Epic is doing with their RT and see if they can implement it into their own software to improve performance. Thanks so much for the work that you do...
40 compute units in an apu sounds pretty ballin. The 6700 xt has 40 rdna 2 compute units.... i doubt itll be that powerful, but itd be pretty rad!
I mean the 8700g has 12. If cores were a direct coalation to performance, it'd be a 333.33% increase. That'd be like about 1650 preformannce to about 3070 performance. It's definitely not gonna be that, but it'd be cool hahaha
That’s a clickbait title right there!
Happy yesterday, Americans
Happy tomorrow, future boy.
Hopefully the original EK Brand in Slovenia will survive all the trouble. I order and use the waterblocks now since a decade and they are just awesome. Besides the US the company in Europe never took the way to build PCs or over stuff besides the waterblocks.
Are Intel cpu's really "losing" performance, or are they just returning to baseline after the overclock someone tried (mobo maker in this case) wasn't stable?
I'm one of the people having the Intel 13th/14th gen instability problems, even though I'm on a 13700k, not an i9 (the Horizon: Forbidden West support people confirmed that my crashes are this specific issue, as I sent them crash dumps/etc). There's a BIOS update for my motherboard (ASUS Prime Z790-P Wifi), but I'm terrified of doing big things in BIOS, so I'm nervous about doing it.
Do you recommend waiting before buying a new cpu/motherboard because of the stability issues?
Theres no stability issues with am5 unless you buy crappy mobo
Excellent default title!
I just wonder if once you know you are "impacted", setting this to "auto" will undo the damage done to the core. 😅
Now that's a title!
Hey, I have an idea for a video you could do since it doesn't seem any of the big channels have done one that I know of and it's this: Does Instant replay / nvidia shadowplay affect performance and if so how much? I'm very curious because I actually use it a lot and I would like to know how much it hurts performance
That's an interesting idea. I might look into it. Not sure how long of a video I could make out of it though. Maybe I could check AMD vs Nvidia to see if there are differences? Or driver level recording vs using OBS or something.
usually 5% or less. that's why GPU recording become a big deal before since the performance impact is negligible over CPU recording.
Jays two cent video on the Intel CPUs was pretty interesting. I have no rest for the wicked I have a 5600 x and a RTX 3080 and after the update the game runs better it's still need some work I would say it's like 40% better like I don't get the dips down into the light 35 40 FPS dips to 55 65 ish edit that's 1440p best quality settings. The digital foundry test was showing a lot of cpu issues
I'd love to get that Strix Halo iGPU for my AM5 desktop to upgrade from 7600. Probably won't be available or fit into the AM5 package.
That would fit into my smaller ITX case. I had to move its content to a slightly bigger one when upgrading to an RX6600. The Ryzen 8000 doesn't look bad but the 8700 is quite expensive and the 8600 already has a much smaller GPU.
somewhere in the world a sleeper agent has begun his mission
I can honestly relate with that title
Please report about the current Escape From Tarkov scandal in your next video 🙏
Intel i9 and i7 CPU stabillity issues : I am so happy that i bought the i5 13600k instead of the i7 or i9 !!!! Because my CPU works just nicely.
Me see numbers, me like
im too excited for the new apus if its anything 4060-4060ti it would be crazy hope they arent too expensive
18:38 now this is a breakthrough that will maybe make raytracing relevant...

Nice video title :D
Thanks for all these good videos over time, that being said.
My laptop has been dead for like 6 months now so hopefully Strix Halo is available and affordable
Yeah right.. that halo sku will be like the Mac chips..
@@christophermullins7163 A Rtx 4060 laptop with a ryzen 5 is like $999 CAD so as long as it’s under that price it should be a great product
if slower vram is what keeps amd cards cheap then i dont see that being that big of problem, besides isn't that what infinity cache is for anyway?
I'm happy to have choosen an AMD Ryzen 7900X3D then, but I fear that the next generation of RDNA might be a fail, due to hard race between AMD and Nvidia. Both should take more times to fix and finalize their products, with 7900XTX or RTX4080/90 we can wait before they become outdated.
regardless of the performance nvidia will update their architecture every 2 years. and they usually do it regardless competition are there or not to challenge them.
2024 04 26 01 34 00
I may be a bit worried about RDNA 4 i guess those 3k+ clocks may be true to make for the low memories... If they make a 7900xt or little bit better 16gb at 500 will be good.
24:35 any time a company demands a mod or anything be removed, it makes me want to DL it even if I didn't care about it before.

I think Daniel is testing whether the title matters at all at this point lol
I wonder if the title is a response to people saying he was clickbaiting earlier 😂

what is the difference between DDR5 and LPDDR5Xz if both are 256 bit?

what do the numbers mean 🤔
Bro doesn't even change the title anymore 😁
I see a pattern:
1. GamersNexus releases a video on a company
2. Boss of the company appears on camera with ukulele
We need more GNs in the world.
MLID said that AMD would only use 18Gbps for the RDNA4 lineup for the initial release weeks ago.
That's too slow.
He just uploaded with the default title 😭
Daniel? When visiting Broken Silicon at Moore Law is Dead channel?
Daniel please don't diminish your credibility by going on his channel. I was a fan and subscriber of MLID for a few years, but recent events made me realize Tom doesn't always have the evidence needed to back his claims. Tom deletes videos without explanation and pushes his controversies under the rug. He can always hide behind the excuse that things changed behind the scenes to explain why he was wrong, so he can never really be held accountable for misinforming his audience. He might have some legitimate sources, but there is no value in listening to someone who can say things without evidence.
5:00 wait.. Ryzen 9000 series? so it's not 8000?
8000 for GPUs, 9000 for desktop CPUs, 8000 is used for the new CPU mobiles.
Is the title an alibi?👀
