Sorry I didn't have time to test more GPUs, but since performance seemed pretty good I just wanted to get out a quick video and let you know about the cool FSR 3 with DLSS feature.
Thank you!
It's fine. Everybody gets the idea. This game looks and runs great even on lower end gpu's (like every game should).
That’s crazy they implemented it that fast. AMD just accounted that feature not to long ago.
It is buttery smooth it’s amazing even on my 6600xt 4K Medium FSR Performance
Don't say sorry, be proud! :D Thank you for your awesome videos!!
Nixxes are killing it with the pc ports, they keep on improving i really think they are the kings of pc ports now.
That are also the guys that ported Spider-Man aren’t they? That port was incredibly good

I got through about 80% of the game on release, then got a PC and never completed it. Then went back to finish it on my ps4 a few months and forgot how loud my ps4 was and it felt like it was hardly hitting 30fps. Cant wait to get this with some proper performance!
Imagine how great Gran Turismo 7 on PCVR would be compared to PSVR2... way higher resolution and way more than 60 fps...and way more details.
@@lolmao500I don’t think it will be that big of a difference.
I bought a PS4 in 2014 and just gave it it's first cleaning. Oh boy was it filthy inside! I have a new PC and the PS sat for a long time and I forgot how loud it gets too.
Try switching the voice over to english or japanese to spice things up.
@@lolmao500 ..just play Assetto Corsa with mods?
Nixxes is the gold standard of pc setting ports. Wish Arrowhead games had hired them to port Helldivers 2. Which is silly they didnt seeing as its also a Sony published game
Just remember that Nixxes is just one studio, they can't do all ports in a short amount of time. These take time, and rushing them will just lead us to back to the same PC port problems again.
And they still didn't let them port The Last of Us.... That port is still crap and will be crap forever.
@@michaelcarson8375 I read its just a VRAM issue..

I love that the kids make an entrance into the videos. Please don't change that, it's awesome. Anyway, I've been waiting for a comparison like this for some time. Glad to see you're doing it. I can't believe my 2080Super can take advantage of AMD frame gen and FSR and still have a great looking game.
I think you meant AMD Frame Gen and DLSS Upscaling, right? but it looks like with a 2080 Super you can easily play on 1440p high settings with dynamic resolution with DLSS set to 60 and have an extremely good experience
This was honestly the first time I have ever actually been able to hear the kids. I agree it is a total non-issue.
@@LlywellynOBrien It happens in maybe half the videos and he always calls it out. And its the same amount of loudness most of the time. So its quite frequent.
This is one of the best PC port test reviews I've seen. Tying multiple settings and options at multiple resolutions and GPUs. Thanks to this video I can confidently know if my PC can handle this game
I love the live previews for graphics settings as well.
Thanks for the quick test. you do great test videos and I appreciate what you do. Keep up the good work 👍👍
Great, informative video! Thanks Daniel! Glad to see that the settings for this game are quite versatile. The game looks well optimized with a consistently low frame time for the bit of the game that we saw in the video.
Solid video man really loved how thorough you were Ty!
The game suffers from weird CPU under-utilization, I'm covering it in my next video, really unacceptable, just leaving performance on the table.
The game also has visual bugs on AMD GPUs, mainly a blue flicker in some textures. Horizon Forbidden west has rainbow lights flashing in the distance when underwater. No one seems to notice that and it's quite frustrating.
Thank you for noticing that, everyone claiming stellar performance with their very high end X3D cpus haven't noticed that obviously but my Ryzen 5 3600 which is recommended for 60fps can't even hold it
Good job Daniel, Bon appetite
Love your content Daniel, but I wonder if you could also do HDR testing too since many games and OLED monitors coming out with HDR support
Playing with samsung g9. Man i gotta tell you.oh boy Its so beautiful
Would love that but HDR testing can be pretty involved, there are youtuber only specializing in HDR.
Loved what you said about art design. Not all games need to max out everything. Wish game developers focussed more on making games fun and run well
This is some seriously impressive stuff. Most games needed the FSR upscaling rendering pipeline to implement FSR3 FG. And how do they do dynamic resolution on PC? Afaik DLSS, FSR and XeSS all provide a fixed resolution percentage. I hope this becomes the standard.
DLSS has a couple of default presets, but it can run at any internal resolution. I guess it's the same with FSR and XeSS.
have it on my PS5, but hell, I am going to play it on PC again
Hey Daniel, not sure if you are aware but the 7800x3d is currently on sale for 278$ on amazon. Thought you could make a community post about it?
Nice video man! I appreciate it.
Could you please let me know how many FPS you get if you run the game at 4K on ultra graphics with DLSS quality on a RTX 3060?
I hope it hits the minimum of 30FPS
Thank you
Keep up the good work
I actually broke a personal taboo of mine and preordered this game on PC. I love Ghost on the PS4, and trusted Nixxes to make a quality port. Glad they proved me right. I’m currently on a trip and heading back home tonight. Can’t wait to boot this baby up!
My go to tech channel for performance/graphics related news and content. You will be successful no doubt.
Man with some many good games coming out, I really am having a hard time waiting to buy a new PC.
When would be a good time to buy it? Wait for new GPU launches so I can get last gen cheaper?
I'm looking forward to see you test this on your Arc A770 with XeSS.
Thank you for the review! Perhaps this highly detailed sceneries in games are Japan's way to commercial the country itself as well as level of quality produced nearly everything exported from there.
I was pleased when I tried this out and saw fsr 3 enabled for nvidia cards, I actually don't need any scaling for my main machine though this is a great port
Thanks Daniel, doing god's work!
I wonder if this is a fsr 3.1 implementation then, because amd did mentioned that fsr and fg decoupled was an announced feature.
I think there is an ultra settings mode as well that you can manually toggle in the individual presets. I'd probably recommend just cranking up the anisiotropic filtering and the texture settings if you have at least a 6-8gb vram video card to try to get the up close detail level up.
So if I get this game I will finally be able to experience DLSS + Frame Regeneration with my RTX 3090! 😮
Yes
x2
You can also mod FSR frame gen into games that have DLSS frame gen. You should try it its pretty easy to set up. I modded it into cyberpunk and it allowed me to play 1440p high settings with psycho raytracing at 60-70 fps on a 3060 12gb. There was no noticable input lag either ( I did have nvidea reflex on so that might be the reason). Also you can pair FSR framegen with DLSS upscaling.
@Yes917 a friend of mine moded his games and then he was sending messages on discord "leaked OF" lmao
Doesn't your RTX 3090 generate more than enough frames without upscaling and fg ?
Congrats on the handful of countries able to play it.
yes! ive been waiting for this game for so long and now it looks like I can even max it out with my 2070s... 😍
It would be great if Nixxes took over the development of TLOU2 port, at least we know it would be greatly optimized on release!
Hi bro, recently i bought a rx 6800 but I saw that they lowered the price of the 6800xt, I'm a little disappointed, should I be worried about not waiting? It would also be interesting to know how to perform a safe overclock with the software either in a short or in a video.
"Focus on the art design" YES! This came looks incredible because of exactly this. It's literally stunning at times, and lets not forget the sound design too!
So are the PC max settings at 4k the same as PS5, or is it like RDR2 where the PS5's graphics are the PC equivalent of low or below low?
Wow Daniel is on point so fast.
This game is a work of art it visually. It ran ok on the PS4 I am really looking forward to playing through it again on PC with everything cranked up.
The thing that to me they really did incredibly well is the lack of stutters. It's super smooth.
*Daniel* How do you force shader compilation, or determine the exact moment that it's completed.
It's quick and I think it gets hidden during the initial game startup. I only noticed it when I loaded an already in progress save on a new GPU.
"Why is Jin just walking around in circles?"

Can you make comparison between AMD framegen and Lossless Scaling framegen which also works on any GPU?
does afterburner properly record frame generation now?
hi Daniel, when you say use DLSS+dynamyc resolution 9:03 , it might lead to think that DLSS will only active when the frame rate dips belows 60, but DLSS it will be always active!
this is a great topic for a video. This matters because it will always be subjected to visual artifacts from DLSS , not just when frame dips under 60 fps!
So, one needs to compare :
1) DLSS+dynamic 60 : DLSS from 1080p to 1440p all the time ( it will be worst than natural 1440p all the time) + set to 60 fps
2)NO DLSS+dynamic 60 : natural 1440p most of the time + a few times of resolution scale down (1440p to 1080P) from the game engine.
when a GPU/game can most of the time( 90% of the time) it can reach 60 FPS but have a few dips Option 2 will be better,
when it can not reach 60 most of the time ( like in the video video 8:54) than option number 1 will be better.
Looking like ghost of sushima is going to become a standard benchmark for future GPU and CPU launches.
Playing this in 4k with dlss Q on a 11700 + 4080 super, ultra settings bloom and motion blur off 120fps solid. good port, havent tried frame gen on it yet
Now I have even less reasons to upgrade from my 3080 lol. I hope more games will implement FG this way.
They will since AMD is decoupling FSR3 FG from upscaling as stated in the FSR 3.1 announcement.
Brother man, say hi to your kids and well done in this preview of Tsushima. Please God, yes, dx11 and 3D vision by helixmod! YEAH BABY.
I know you mentioned stuttering and what not at the beginning due to your capture setup, but that frametime graph is mighty bumpy. When you switched over to the 3060 and locked to 60 is when you really notice it. Surprised that wasn't mentioned.
It would be interesting to see what the fps is if you were to match your settings to what a PS4 Pro does in quality mode with the popular CPU's and GPU's as reported on Steam.
It's hard to believe how well this game runs. It's too bad that few developers seem to be able to optimize a game as well as this one. Also, first.
Well it's a game from years ago released on hardware that is very similar to PCs, there's bassicly 0 optimization done, it runs this well because modern PCs are multitudes of better then the PS4, essentially brute forcing high framerates, it's actually quite poorly optimized, realistically a well optimized game desgined for a PS4 could get 300 fps on even like a 3060, the PS4 is that weak in comparison
@@flamingscar5263 It looks like a 2024 game though. I like ray tracing but this game shows that it's not that necessary and you can make a great performing game without it. If this game is unoptimized I wish all games ran like this when unoptimized.

Game is awesomely optimized.. even on my old RX580 i have around 90-100FPS everything on high, this is first game in long time i´m happy that i bought..
great vid
Try it with motion blur off on the lower cards. It can impact the performance drastically
AMD's FSR tech supports all GPUs (even Arc and RTX series), while nVidia is keeping their DLSS frame gen only 40 series exclusive (no support for 30 series). We need to support Team Red more!
Goofy. NVIDIA's frame gen is hardware-based, utilizing a more powerful Optical Flow Accelerator that the older gen cards do not possess. That's why it's not available on older gen cards. AMD's frame generation is driver-based, hence why it looks hideous next to NVIDIA's hardware-based solution.
P.S. Being "Team Red" or "Team Green" is cringe af. These are multibillion dollar corporations. They don't care about you.
Finally a good port. Enjoying the game for the first time - runs great.
no mini-daniel at all :(
(still enjoyed the video, really nice to see a game utilize different technologies from different gpu manufacturers)
Waiting for my oled before continuing it. Only thing I've noticed is the screen flashing white or purple, not sure the issue. Max settings, fsr 3 native aa, frame gen.
The game runs at 90fps at very high with dlss and frame generation on a rtx2060 in 1080p but still its great... they did an amazing job porting the game. I hope theres tons of mods for it. This is great to see since a new game coming out and running at 60 fps + at very high on a RTX2060 doesnt realy happen anymore and hasnt been hapenning for years lol.
The 2060 is roughly 3 times as fast as the PS4-GPU, which ran the game at 1080p 30 FPS. Consequently, I would expect the RTX 2060 to achieve 90 FPS at 1080p native without DLSS or frame generation. I don't know why you would call this an amazing job.
@@MoinWoll yeah i see a lot of people praising the optimization of nixxes ports even though they severely underperform compared to their console versions, i feel like people are too "used" to recent bad performing ports/games in general that they don't have a good baseline to compare to anymore.
@@MoinWoll I don't know why you would think very high is the same level of graphics as a PS4.
@@motorolah8107 Exactly. These "Nixxes makes the greatest ports/are the goats/etc." statements have become a meme by now, which will probably go on indefinitely. It is really disheartening to witness.
@@berkertaskiran The very high preset is not max settings. There are several ultra options and better ambient occlusion methods, which you can only set manually. Of course we don't know yet objectively how the very high setting compares to PS4 settings. We have to wait for the Digital Foundry analysis for that. However, I played the game on PS4 Pro and now on PC and I didn't spot any obvious differences in graphical quality that would justify a performance drop by a factor of ~3-4 compared to PS4 at the same resolution.
This game is so nicely optimized and it has a lot of graphics options with really good boost in FPS if you lower the settings unlike other games where going from ultra to low doesn't provide much smoother experience. Also, Photo Mode is top tier and every game should steal ideas from this game! It's excellent for making live wallpapers.
It is not optimized at all, it is just relatively old and has a beautiful art style. When comparing the raw power of the PS4 (2.1 TFlops) and the 4090 (83 TFlops), the game should run at anywhere between 150-300 FPS on a 4090 at 4K. In reality it runs at 80+ FPS at 4K. This is actually the worst optimization I have seen in a long time.

Nixxes have always been the GOAT they even reached out to the 3D vision mod community to make sure the Tomb Raider games where working in stereoscopic properly back in the day. Pretty much unheard of. Sony knew what they were doing when they acquired them...
I have a 3060ti and play 4k dlss performance. When I enable FSR3 FG it does not even give me more frames, just more input lag. Why would that be is it bugged?
Nixxe doing Nixxe's stuff. Insane ports from them, this should be the standard for a product on day one, nothing less. Specially if they have the guts to charge you more than $60.
Interesting. DLSS FG is essentially invisible, it's completely seamless. How does this compare?
The port seems mostly very good but also somewhat GPU intensive, compared to how it runs on PS5’s GPU?
Yeah it runs very well on the ps5
Consoles to pc ports will never be 1 for 1. Ps5 runs this game at near 4k (I think it’s like upscaled 1800p to 4k I think)
2. Devs who care get to really fine tune for console. It’s more of a mystery box on pc
@@fresco_dinero5155 I never said it had to be 1 to 1. This is disproportionately more demanding on PC
Absolutely right. The 4090 is 40 times more powerful than a PS4 and only runs this game 10 times faster. Even when halving the raw power number of the 4090 to more than account for console specific advantages, the 4090 should get at least 150+ FPS at 4K, while it gets 80+ FPS in reality.
How tf can a game be this flawless technically?!?!? Awesome
Damn this game is too awesome
Yeah just been testing and it has XeSS 1.3 too so could use XeSS 1.3 with FSR 3 FG which is awesome, my 6750 XT get's around 90 fps maxed out native but if I switch FSR 3 on it's getting almost 200 fps.

I'm glad to know it's performing well. I unfortunately have it crash on me in the startup screen every time I launch it. From what I can tell, it's only a select few AMD GPU users that are experiencing this (I run a 6700XT), but it sounds like enough that it should hopefully be patched up soon. Taa is obv worst, xess is too blurry, rest is just up to preference
