What? A 2024 PC game not consuming 16GB of VRAM at 1080P? Impossible.
I mean, it's a PS4 game. It was made to run in a console that was inferior to the 2012 660 ti.
Textures is probably not the best strength of this game, especially indoors where it look like ps3/x360 quality, though with beautiful artistic design, perhaps it's not needed.
Dudes spreading misinformation about 8 GB's of VRAM not being enough for modern games are scratching their heads rn.

I ended up getting a 3060 ti for about $190~ brand new from a homie. It was a HUGE improvement over my 1060 3gb. I always end up shafted in the vram department but at least i got a deal on it this time LOL. Love the vids man.

My last video card was a GTX 1650, an $11 processor and 8 gigabytes of RAM. I am very glad that thanks to your tests, I built a powerful computer

I think you cud ve added 4k DLSS Balanced Very High Textures also in the video.
I tried that and it's giving 50-55 fps average and it was pretty darn good experience with basicallu no dips below 50, so super playable.
I d ssy that is why 6700XT despite having more VRAM cudnt fully beat out 3060 Ti.
Its a brilliant GPU.
Had the 3079 been a 12 GB GPU, it wud ve been 1 f the best Nvidia GPU f all time

I'm playing on an RX 6600 and a Ryzen 5 5600X. It runs fine on max settings at 1080p, but after about 30mins of gameplay the VRAM usage is nearing the 8GB mark and the game starts stuttering. The card is not going above 70C and about 80% usage most of the time. If i switch to high textures instead of very high, no problems. So yes, after a certain period of time the 8GB VRAM limit is hit and performance suffers from it.

Something i learned about FSR FG is that u have to use vsync for it to be smooth and without it it becomes a bit stuttery looking

Maybe that wouldn't be a bad investment actually. I usually don't do laptops because they're more expensive to buy so I usually don't make the money back, unlike with most GPUs. But I'll look for deals on a 3050 laptop 👍

Is there a reason you don't crank Anisotropic Filtering to 16x? I am sure it's probably a very small difference visually but I also know it has no real performance cost. Just curious. Love the video (as usual) ❤️

The game is well optimized. I have been testing it out on a FX-8350 setup using a RX 5600. Medium preset/1080P with no FSR stays above 40fps most of the time. The lowest I ever saw the game dip was into the low 30fps range for brief moments.
At least it's very well optimized compared when compared to starfield,Alan wake 2 and grayzone.
@@greatexpectation6456 The big problem with Alan Wake 2 is it needs AVX2 support, making FX and older 4th gen and prior i7 etc unable to run it. That coupled with it's GPU optimization for cards lacking Mesh Shader support being, while better after patches, still meh in general.
a good tip use combo of fast and heavy attacks it will help you kill enemy faster
and kill leaders to unlock more combat moves

Can you do a video on the Arc 770? it's been awhile since we seen anything about that card :)
Some settings affect FPS, especially at night where there are a lot of shadows and in strong winds. I advise you to slightly reduce the level of details and shadows, then on 3060ti at 1440p you can get 60+ fps with dlss
Btw you can get 90-110 FPS at High settings with DLAA & FSR Frame Gen activated. Buttery smooth with my little 5700x and not much more input lag feeling
Im having a blast with this game on high setings with dlss on quality and dinamic resolution set to 60 fps at 1080p and im very impressed with the performance of this game. Nixxes are the best at making console ports with good optimasation.
My friend, not sure if you forgot or if you didn't know: This game has a built-in support for FSR3, so you can pair up DLSS and FSR3! It works amazingly well!

The game originally ran so well on my 3060ti founders but today there was MAJOR stuttering and slowdown. Even after lowering things from very high to medium. Hoping it was just something going on in the background. Hopefully a quick restart fixes it.
the problem with this port is the cpu optimization, in this video you tested with the 7950x3d which plows through everthing, but I played it on a 5600 and the framerates are all over the place with this game. Sometimes it runs smooth as butter but in some areas the fps just gets shafted down to half, hopefully they're working on fixing it
my friend (3060ti) managed to get it to 170 - 194 fps on 1080p with dlss on balanced, very high settings, on dlss quality it runs similar, up to high 180s, this game is decently optimized, i'm playing on high settings, 90s, sometimes it peaks in low 100s with amd fsr on quality and amd frame gen with a 1660 super and it's playable despite some input lag which i can't seem to notice.
The FPS is good until you play the game for like an hour. Do these tests check the FPS immediately booting the game up, or later on? It's solid when you boot it for the first time, but gets worse the more assets loaded into vram over time.

Just wondering but what software are you using for temps? I see MSI afterburner but are you pairing that with anything additional like HWinfo64 or any other sort of third party software like that? I want to monitor my gaming to make sure my PC is safe and kind of want to run whatever you run.
if it´s for u gaming just use afterburner , for advanced testing or if something run hot or weird while gaming then add hwmonitor

RTX 3060 and 3060 TI Both are the best GPU and my favorite both perform very nicely on most of the Games.
3060 is the most used gpu currently so it's going to be the standard for developers. 6700 XT though would mean VRAM is no issue but you lose out on DLSS. New 4060 Ti with 16 gb is interesting but needs to be $75 cheaper.
3060Ti is bad with only 8GB of VRAM. 6700xt at same price or less us much better. 3060 12gb though is a good product

Fsr 3 fg being nearly perfect on this one, i got 144+ fps w dlss balanced and max settings kinda crazy how smooth the game is

I have a 3060 TI 8GB VRAM with an i5 12400 and 16 GB RAM at 3200Mhz and I experience FPS drops. What graphic configuration do you recommend?
Use windows 11 and 32 gb ram the problem will be solved
~60 FPS on medium settings with DLSS Quality on 4K on such card is pretty good performance! I guess my 4070 would do quite well on 4K but I'm not planning to play on 4K 😅 Interesting to know either way.
you should use reshade cas sharpening with dlss because dlss does not have preapplied sharpening like fsr. Dlss + reshade cas looks insanely good.

Yeah, especially with DLAA + DRS 60 fps, it'll look like 4K native and get 60 all the time :)

one IMPORTANT thing to note. this game currently has memory leaking issues when Alt tabbing or changing settings!
a 3060TI should do better than 16fps at 1440p. playing with a 3070 i can get around 60-90 fps depending on the area when running it at 1440p.

Kudos to the developers. Ghost of tsushima is a well optimized game. 5500xt performs high and very high well also more like 50 fps

Yes, my card runs around 70 fps at Golden Temple but after a while it drops to somewhere between 55-60 fps

I just play 4k with Dlss Performance, why dont you test that on a 3060ti? Its pretty good but not sure if vram is maxing out
This, almost no one bother to use performance upscaling even at 4k. Which is i think is a missed opportunity, because performace upscaling at 4k is mostly good enough and worth to be used.
Even 4K with DLSS Performance looks 10 times better than native 1080p though. 🤷♀
You can use nvidia filter to sharpen the image with dlss

Dlss quality
High settings
Enjoy 55+ almost all the time maybe put vsync on as well
Personally i cant tell the difference between High and very high

Is it just me or the graphics of this game look kinda mid? Something about the lighting and ambient occlusion seems off. Colors look oversaturated.
That wouldn't be a problem if the game doesn't run this bad. People've been praising this game for being well optimized but I just don't see it. For something with graphics this mediocre, it should've run way, way better than this.
Haha true they didn’t really enhance the graphics but it’s still so demanding the ps5 ran at 1800p with locked 60 fps 0 dips but the pc port is struggling a lot

@@zWORMzGaming ps5 GPU is kinda equivalent to RX6700, and it can deliver this game at checkerbroad 4K with the majority time 60fps by using very high textures with other settings like mixed med to high. So 6700xt can definitely outperform PS5 not so much same settings. 3060ti 8GB vram is a problem if you set textures too high at high res..

DLSS doesn't have adjustable sharpness anymore. Games that still offer a slider use NIS or a different solution.

High settings for optimal for me at 1080p while using 3060ti. i dont see differences and the gameplay so smooth 90+fps
after the new patch, they enable DLSS 3 with DLSS frame generation option .. i update the game but there is no option to put on DLSS frame generation in 3060TI

People have alot of problems on AMD gpu's with this game.. Did you already test some amd gpu's?
I have recorded the 6700XT video, gotta edit and it'll come tomorrow morning. It crashes every time I go to the settings menu inside of the game, but aside from that it was great
@@zWORMzGaming Well you're lucky then.. My pc just freezes after a few minutes of playing.. Only on this game btw Starfield and other games runs fine. I play on a RX 7700 XT and Ryzen 5 5600x with 16gb ram

All nixxes games have intensive VRAM consumption and I don't see anyone criticizing it for that.
Whenever anyone criticizing that, they will get backfired back. That's why nobody criticizing about the VRAM usage in any Nixxes ports. 🤷♀
