Imma just say before watching the video, my baby RX 580 keeps on giving till today.
The longevity of this generation was insane!
@@zWORMzGaming indeed!
At that time, AMD's director was not a relative of the owner of a competing company.
Try Running Avatar,Starfield and Alan wake 2 or any newly released game.
@@Scott99259To play or to benchmark?
The fact that the 580 is still usable after 7 years says a lot about this GPU. RX 580 is also on par (a lot of the time) with something like a 3050 6GB and RX 6500 XT, that's probably why it's very impressive even in 2024.
If your rx580 were to play newer UE5 titles which have nanite always on it would struggle, not like in aw2, but it would be an unpleasant experience
So is gtx 970/980, r9 290/x, 390/x which are older and were cheap by the time polaris 10 rx 480 came out. Easy cheaper
Mine also got me through the gpu apocalypses. Until the memory slowly died.
@@unclexbox85Since modern games have failed to deliver enjoyment I would say just to stick to older games would worth with older cards like these.
no?
This has 256 bit bus, RTX 4060 has 128 bit🤡
Yeah but rx580 way too slow to utilise more than 5-6gb memory
@gediminasbielskis8346 actually re4 remake does 45+ fps with more than 7gb vram usage
Yeah and my r9 290x has a 512 bit bus lol
This has gddr5 🤡
@@GnA_000 final fantasy vii remake high texture setting 60+fps (disable dynamic resolution) 7.5gb vram well it can utilize more vram but rx580 only haave 8gb

You and @RandomGamingInHD doing videos on sister cards is so fitting, as you two are the GOATS for this kind of content, and definitely brothers from another mother. :)
my 590 carried me through the chip shortage, and i will never forget it. that card was a real trooper.
I bought a 1660 super just 2 weeks before the chip shortage. That graphic card saved me
I had my 580 last me all the way thru the shortage and then I finally got my 3060 not even that long ago. That thing was still running most of my games on medium to high and was still handling VR quite well.
Same, still using it to this day
Me too
I still have the very same RX580 in my backup PC paired with Ryzen 5 1600, my daughter is playing Sims and Roblox on it. Peacefull retirement.. :-) Thanks for the video, it´s nice to see how it performs in all those games.
I want to ask question since I have plans for a similar computer, does your daughter get 60fps on max settings in roblox?
@@hiddenguy67 99% of the time, yes. Sometimes the fps drops a bit when she plays very demanding mods with hundreds of objects on screen, but I would say thats where the processor cant handle it very well since its first gen Ryzen and the game only utilizes a single core. But the graphics card on its own is overkill for this game.
I would update that CPU to a 3600 increase the longevity of the build I have an ITX build with a 1650 S which is roughly around the same performance and most definitely saw a difference in performance just going from the 2600 to the 3600.
@@Cryploid interesting and thank you for the reply, I am also thinking of using a 1070ti for more demanding games and also upgrading it to a 3600 or a better ryzen 5 further down the line
@@hiddenguy67 I would get a 6600XT you'll yield way better performance with an AMD CPU+ GPU combo SAM increases performance a decent amount compared to ReBAR. If that's out your budget a 5700XT for around 100 would be a solid buy much better than a 1070TI you'll be at 1080TI/3060 performance.
Got your video in CZcams video recommendation after a long time and have to so enjoyed every second.
Wow, liking the new video format and how you have started to showcase the card. Love it!

I've been watching your channel for some time now and i keep coming back not for info because i want to buy a gpu, but because of your style, i love that you actually play the games and fiddle with the settings naturally, not just show some photo of performance stats with bad cringy electro music in the backround
aaa yooo thanks for making this video, i was thinking of buying rx 580 and u just made a video about it
I only play games from 2021 and below. This card still serves me well.

I had a 2048sp rx 580 (basically a 570 in disguise) for 1 year and a half. It ran extremely hot, like 85-90 degree under load, although it performed very well, never ran into any driver issue. Coming from a gt 730, the rx 580 felt like extremely high-end for me. I recently upgraded to an rx 6600, couldn't be happier. If you don't play the latest and greatest titles at high setting, the good ol' rx 580 is more than enough.

Hey Krisp, I really wanted to play Alan Wake 2 on my 580 8GB so i did some googling and it turns out that on Linux it can do 30-ish FPS on 1080p with FSR2 on Quality. It was kinda annoying to set up a Linux install for gaming but when it was done the random internet post I read was absolutely correct. Linux forces the game to run on Vulkan and that makes a huge difference for the 580.
which distro did u used for it?

Thank you again for these awesome videos❤❤
Yippie! Thanks for making the video :D

Rx 580, the best budget gpu of this generation.
You misspelled GTX 1060 or literally anything that replaced it and is just as cheap. No "budget" user should even consider something pulling near 200W from the wall, not just because of PSU requirements but power bills as well. It has the same draw of a GTX 1080 from the same generation with 60% less performance, only use this card ever got was with miners on highly undervolted profiles.
@@joeallen7781 the gtx 1060 is more expensive than the rx 580
@@lifeasdev7480 both are 50 60$ range, you can find GTX 1660 for 80$ that slaps 580 and 590 using the same low 120W a 1060 does. If all i want is a nice entry level gpu on an entry level system i sure af dont want to worry about 40 and 50$ PSUs to support 200W cards nor would someone that games regularly want that sort of draw on something that performs so poorly. Some 580s (nitro, red devil etc) even shoot thru 200W and require 8+6pin connectors....budget? yikes.
Actually this and the 1080TI are real legends. Two cards that refuse to give up and be forgotten by history.
i9-9900K with two 1080Ti in SLI mode, trhat was peak 2018 rig, couldnt top that
I'm 2:42 in the video and BROOO. You are really gifted when it comes to fps huh? hahaha. Damm you. Salute MnK player. Love the reviews as always.
I have the same gpu as you, and it serves me pretty well, its a legendary one honestly!
Rx 580 was my dream gpu back then when i still using gtx 1050.

Dude, thanks for the video. That is a nice tribute to this legendary card. It served me very well for over 3 years, and it's still making a joy for the guy who bought it.
I just realized that the one i got is AMD Radeon RX 580 2048SP.
Userbenchmark says, it has even lower rank than rx 570.
But im satisfied, since it only draws around 120watt max.
Mine is also a 580 2048 SSP and I get more FPS in almost every game that was showed in the video (1080p 75hz screen). Paired w/ an I5 10400F and 16GB DDR4. Oh, and the VGA is refurbished! These ranks are not always 100% accurate
@@yooumusic Well, i was buying it 2nd hand. So, it doesnt matter whether it it was refurbished or or, i guess X-P
Polaris cards use the same silicone across 470/480/570/580/590 and from OC experience are mostly power limited. 580@120w sounds like a ripoff 470, also without extra power PCI is limited to ~80w
@@Mr371312 Hold on, you have tried power up the rx 480 without connecting the PCIe power cable?
I mean, did you success to boot up the system without PCIe power? That would be cool.
its still my dream card

Hi kryzzp, Why are games so unoptimized these days? An RTX 3060 laptop should be enough to run all games at medium to high settings 1080p, but nowadays games are Horrible and horribly optimized, also I would love to see playthroughs from you 🙂
Rtx 3060 was severly overrated but still your not wrong lmo
Hi! Developers are getting lazier and game engines more generic, some just dump assets into a map and call it a day :(
Also, we're seeing more devs using Nanite, Lumen and Ray Tracing more often, and skipping shader compilation
because they just want quick money and instead of optimizing their games they rely on technologies like fsr and dlss to make them sort of ''playable'' so they can sell more copies without spending a lot
My old RX 580 is in my backup system (an old fx 8370 box) and I like to pit it against my laptop with a RTX 3060-6GB mobile (although that has a much better cpu Ryzen 5800H).
Fun to see which games run better on each.
I want to buy this video card for myself, since it has been one of the best in the price-quality category for 7 years now
Interesting video. Thanks.
GREAT VIDEO! ONE QUESTION:
gtx 1050/1060 is less temperature than rx 580?
RX 580s 8gb ram is whats keeping it alive and its amazing it can actually make full use of the 8gb vram
hmm yeah a normal gameplay is shaking the camera all the time on starfield.
He trying to trigger FSR 3 FG slowdown so hard. oh no it is spiking i dont know whyyyyYyYYYYyyyy
then he tried to troll the 6800 (knowing it runs epic on apex) and didnt finished the sentence, trash.
and then he cant stop repeating the blurry FSR thing.
3:51 but in the end, it doesn´t even matter because he still died
i tried so hard and got so far
Perfect as always 👌
RDNA4 will be another Polaris and rx580.
It won't. They won't do this mistake again. They want you to upgrade your GPU as often as possible so they will make sure it will get obsolete in a year or so.
Also, the Nimez/R.ID drivers for this are wonderful
Nice with mate, love all your video :), i was thinking that particularly on dx 12 game and newer one in general the 580 should performance better than the gtx 980, but compared your results with my 980 is always 15 to 25 % better, could be the newer driver make it quite it better? Maybe seen a comparison with 980 and 580 i would like that if you can obviously
do you think its a good budget gpu for video editing? if not, can you recommend good gpus for ryzen 5 3600 cpu
I've had my RX580 sapphire nitro+ 8gb for seven years now from release (2017 April), and all I really play is battlefield 1 and fallout 4, and I have no need to upgrade, I'm thinking to hold out for one more year before I consider looking making my card 8 years old before upgrading, what an amazing card it is 😁
Glad to see the rx 580 stil kickin and looking good. Now we need to see the gtx 1060 6gb to see how it performs. Good job bro.👌
Hey, great video ❤. I just recently bought the rx 580 i got ot for 30 euroes used and it was the saphire nitro. Do u think this card will run smoothly with a i7 980x or 990x? Or anything between?
I have a very low budget pc and im still using a 1366 socket motherboard.
The Alana Wake 2 graphics instantly reminded me of a generation of games for the PS1. I'm definitely playing the whole game like that on purpose, thanks! :D

id love to see the 580 vs 1060 in the same video to see the differences with your testings, that would be crazy next level KRIZZP
I have exactly the same xfx model and paired with r7 3700x it's still delivering enough performance for me in 1080p, especially with SAM(rebar) mode, fsr and framegen modes in games. Wonderful card
i like the improvements in the fortnite settings with dx12 and streamed assets, one more thing you can test if you want: TSR. I play with tsr low on the performance setting (50% res scale) on 1440p and it boosts my fps by sooo much and still looks amazing!
Finally..i was the first to ask for this ❤❤. Thanks so much kryzzp ❤.
No problem 😊
Hope you enjoy it!
I have been rocking a used Rx580 with my Ryzen 5 1600 for the last three years now and I definitely feel I've got my money's worth. Playing Days Gone, Metro Exodus and some older titles and it's been great. I even do some video editing with DaVinci Resolve and as long as I don't get too crazy it has done that too. Gotta say I am eyeing an Rx5700 though if I can find the right price and a cpu upgrade too. Will always be fond of my Red Devil Rx580 though.
My heart broke when I upgraded from this card. So many years with this GPU without any problems.
Still a pretty good deal for around 50 to 60 bucks, and a great vid as always. Could you test out the new integrated arc graphics, almost nobody on youtube has tested it yet.
