  • Crap camera audio of me talking about how and why I came to open up a box containing a Telefunken M82 microphone...
    I AM AN INDEPENDENT CHANNEL.
I bought this microphone myself, and have zero affiliation, connection to, support from ANYBODY. I make these videos for my own fun and amusement... and heck I even learn stuff from time to time.
    THANKS FOR WATCHIN',
    Marty

This is the fun time of year… get to expand the mic locker!

You ever mod a cheap chinese one?
Also, have you ever waded into the world of old Sony dynamic mics? Boy, you can get 'em cheap. Have to be modded for XLR, but some real hidden gems in that little corner of the mic world. Good drum mics.

@@MaggieKeizai shhh about those sony mics. Haha.
I have a friend that’s all about them.
I have been looking them as recently as earlier today. I’m just no good at modding things. I have a funny video I haven’t finished yet where I just tried to solder some xlr cables… entertaining if you’re into watching people that are really bad at something but refuse to stop trying to do it anyway.
Ok headed straight to reverb to see what Sony is still affordable.

@@SHUTUPANDRECORD Oh, don't get 'em on reverb. They always go for less on ebay.

@@SHUTUPANDRECORD I get 'em on ebay for a lot less than I see them on reverb. Or the charity auction site that I won't name because I get most of my stuff from there for like no money and it's too good a semi secret to broadcast. I've gotten lots of several old sony mics there for like 5 bucks. Oh, and Benno Kaiser is a fellow with a youtube channel and he demos a lot of sony mics. He has a "how to add xlr" video he made a couple months back, in case you might find it useful.
God, I love making cool gear out of trash and a soldering iron.
