i’m reading a good girl’s guide to murder right now, and i’m really enjoying it. i only have around 90 pages left, and i love how everything is slowly tying together so far !!
i’ve read it all since posting this, the ending was really good, and i definitely am happy i read it, although i will admit it was a little boring in the middle
I generally don't gravitate towards WWII books, but the way you described They Went Left has me intrigued. Also, I'm in the same boat with you about not caring that Cassie takes a while to have the plot start. I always love reading about her characters and their interactions even if nothing super exciting is happening.

Emma mentioned Libby and I just wanted to plug another free book app that most public libraries use as well and is actually something I like even better than Libby. It’s called Hoopla and what I love about it is that you get 6 (I think that’s the right number) ebooks, audiobooks, movies, etc a month, they stay checked out for 28 days, and you don’t have to wait in a line for certain books. They are all available all the time which I love. I have just never seen anyone talk about this app and it’s honestly so amazing.
I’m currently making my way through the Diviners series and I absolutely agree on Lair of Dreams!! I’m still excited for the rest of the series. I also want to read A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder at some point as well. As for Girl in Pieces, I’ve had it on my shelf for forever it seems like and I want to see how I would like it, even if it seems triggering. Although that cereal box line 🤣🤣 Like what the heck?? I wonder if you are interested in her other books. Also, I’m interested in your thoughts about The First Time I Drowned by Kerry Kletter. My Lesbian Experience with Loneliness actually sounds really good so I am going to have to check that one out! I have Girl in Pieces on my kindle and I know it is going to be an emotional read but I actually think homelessness is a topic that doesn't get enough light in literature so I am glad that there is quite a lot of focus on that. I can't wait to start the Heartstopper series! I don't mind when things are predictable in a happily ever after way. I usually just pick them up when I need something light hearted and fun. Great wrap up x

I'm loving Crawdads so far (20% in) but I am actually really surprised that it has been such a monster hit with the masses, 5 million copies and probably heading for way more than that - the prose is incredible and all but it is quite a slow burn. I sort of (wrongly) assumed that there would be some shocking elements in here or something a bit more suspenseful to reel folks in. For once in a blue moon, something that isn't trash is up there in the charts.
Was anyone else absolutely destroyed by the last page of King of Crows. I didn’t think I was gonna cry and then the literal last page broke me. The very ending was such a gut punch but I love it.
My Lesbian Experience helped me figure out so many things about myself that I couldn't put into words. I can't recommend it enough; it's a story that means so much to me.
I think you would really love Furiously Happy by Jenny Lawson! She has been the most accurate person to describe what depression feels like to me, and is super funny too

A really good YA psychological thriller is Here Lies Daniel Tate. It's a bit underrated, but is a huge page turner and has a lot of great twists.

I highly recommend the Giver of Stars by JoJo Moyes. It’s a completely different topic but gave me a Crawdad vibe! I loved it!
