Godzilla took Tiamat's radiation because it gave him thermoregulation to resist Shimo's ice breath
Question is, how did he know? So much unknown about Shimo's first encounter. And don't like that Tiamat died SO easily.

Here's an Easter egg you missed. Mothra convinces Godzilla and Kong to team up against a bigger enemy just like she does in the 1964 film Ghidorah, the Three-Headed Monster. There she convinces Godzilla and Rodan to stop fighting in order to team up against Ghidorah.

I really loved the ending where Kong treats Shimo more like a pet more than anything, it's heartwarming to see he's got the family he's always wanted.

No. Spacegodzilla has no place in the Monsterverse. Especially with his Toho origin. The whole "Godzilla ate a star" thing is absolute BS, and nothing more than in-world myth. Big G can do a lot. But he can't eat a star and live. Not in this universe.

Kinda wish the fight with Tiamat lasted longer since we aren't going to see her in any more monsterverse movies. The fight barely lasted 30 seconds, I wish it was at least another 30 seconds to a minute longer, considering she is a pretty popular and liked Titan.

Same here. Tiamat was supposed to be such a deadly titan that I wished it would have proved more of a fight for Godzilla. We do see her wrap herself around Godzilla and start dragging him deeper when he suddenly bites down and rips off a piece of her fins.

Ghidorah would have killed him if Mothra's deus-ex-machina bullshit energy transfer post-mortem hadn't happened. Such a phenomenon is not possible since there's no consciousness to guide the energy once she's been vaporized and her consciousness destroyed. Mechagodzilla probably would have killed him too if Kong hadn't decided to team up just because Jia asked him too.

@SwayamNegi-Swami He isn't entirely wrong. Ghidorah beat Godzilla in every fair fight they had. He was clearly winning in Antarctica until Monarch showed up with reinforcements. Godzilla got the jump on Ghidorah off the coast of Mexico. When they fought in Boston, even the powered up Godzilla was losing pretty decisively until Mothra gave him a massive power up. Hell, even their original encounter in the ancient past sounds like Godzilla had help from Mothra and possibly Shimu.
Ghidorah was straight up stronger than Godzilla was until Ghidorah's death. The modern Godzilla would probably hand him his ass, though.

While Godzilla 2014, and, Godzilla KoTM is Godzilla focus movie. We need third movie for Godzilla.

Great breakdown! So happy u loved it too! I thought it was awesome so much fun. I enjoyed the extra monster cameos like Tiamat and connection. I loved that the monsters were the main focus and told from their point of view. Great theory about the Quartz allowing Scar to control Shimu.
My Bearded Dragon "Kaida" approves of Shimo'a design. When Godzilla took his nap inside the Coliseum it reminded me of how my 2 Bearded Dragons Gojira (R.I.P) & Kaida curl up in a corner & sleep.

Caught one you missed. On the outside of the coliseum godzilla naps in there's graffiti of a chibi godzilla with "PUNCH PUNCH PUNCH" written. This is a reference to Jet Jaguar and his wonderfully weird theme song.

I saw it in IMAX 3D and loved it. I thought Shimu was based on the bearded dragon too. After her treatment by the Scar King I loved the fact that Kong and her became friends and she, like the bearded dragons I have taken care of, loved her chin rubbed. I thought Godzilla sleeping in the Rome and Shimu were both cute for impossibility large monsters. Thank you for another great video.

Just finished watching the movie earlier and I loved it!!! I was already Godzilla fan but when Kong put his boxing stance against the other apes. I instantly became a fan of his.

This movie was so good the human characters weren’t boring the action was good almost everything was good
I absolutely loved this film action was incredible and It was a lot funnier than I was expecting hope to see a lot more
The cgi and titan scenes were cool as always but the human plot filler felt rushed/decided last minute. Odd writing choice too how there was a glove for kong that has anti frostbite serum conveniently in hollow earth before they even knew shimo existed.

It would be amazing if we can get a future monsterverse movie with nothing but titans/fights. I understand there has to be some drama and storyline with humans but hopefully we get one with 20-30 minutes at the most of filler scenes

I’m pretty sure that Godzilla being resistant to Shimo’s ice breath has less to do with him being used to swimming through cold water and more to do with him being a walking nuclear furnace. Yes, I know that all titans are some kind of radioactive, but Big G’s on a whole other level. He’s basically the fire to Shimo’s ice.

Thnx for being realistic and reviewing this as a monster action movie. I was thoroughly entertained. It was action packed and yes…I’ll watch again. And again.
Ill definitely watch the other ones more than once. The cgi scenes were good but this movie felt really rushed and had too much boring human plot filler
I was the first group of people amassed to watch the movie
Just saw it. A few gripes, the whole movie seemed rushed. Two of the new monsters were killed WAY too easily. Yes, they were covered in the graphic novel for additional story, and maybe that's why they were done away with, but still seemed way too easy. And they were dominated by Godzilla already so why did they fight to begin with? Scar-King...was underwhelming. Sure, he had Shimu, but still.
Still really fun and I took five other people to see it who all enjoyed it. Really hoping they do more! Destroya and Space Godzilla need to be somewhere in the future. And they never actually said our Godzilla is the one that ate the 'evil star'. So the two can still happen.
If you like Godzilla, see it.
I just saw the movie and i think it was really good 😢. I almost cried a little because it was well made and i loved Shimo all a sudden stop attacking after Soku broke the object that scarking used to controled shimo
Surprised you didnt mention how godzilla reacted when the quartz pyramids made that anti gravitational field, at first godzilla didnt know how to react and how to move, then, he begins to swing his tail and starts swimming in midair, which was awesome to see.

He didn't talk about the ending properly Shimu listens to kong without the Crystal, Kong now has her own dragon horse who froze Ghidorah and also pets her, Scar king has more than one hybrid son Suko is the Eldest one. Kong uses both Axe and Beast Gauntlet and now has an Army too. Mothra can also shoot laser for some reason.
Shimu looks big but in the movie there wasn't much size difference and She is a keeper.

suko really hit a soft spot for me, when i was little we had a small reddish brown dog that my parents named suco, a combo of suzy and coco, my dad had wanted to name her suzy and my mom wanted to name her coco, so they combined them, i will ever forget the day she died after getting hit by a car, the first time i ever saw my dad cry, seeing this little titan and hearing his name made me choke up,
I actually think when kong was beating Godzilla down he could have killed him if he wanted to I think if either pins the other they can take each other out

Green blood is actually scientifically accurate:) Instead of the oxygen being transported by iron, it's by copper. (Oxidized copper is of course green):) We have Hemoglobin, but the copper variant is called Hemocyanin. Loved this movie, one of the best cinema experiences I've had in a while!
