    I think that August read Sara his letter, not to make her feel bad for him but just because he wanted to read it so someone. He always said Sara was the only one who understood him. He just wanted comfort, and to explain a little more about why he was the way he was. I thought it was rlly sad.

      Although it doesn't excuse him posting the video of Wille and Simon, it does show a kind of "Well, the crown prince did this to me, so what i'm doing isn't that bad" ... He did later regret it, but was shot down every time he tried to make amends for it.
      He was a dick, but there were pretty valid reasons for it. Does it excuse the behaviour? No, not at all. But it sheds some light on the reasoning behind it and you can't fully blame August for the way he acted.
      He just needed someone to talk to him and tell him that what he was doing wasn't right, and that what was done to him wasn't right.

    I felt so bad for Wilhelm when his dad said Erik was perfect. I know he's grieving and doesn't want to say anything bad about his dead son, but Wilhelm is already feeling inadequate and obviously what he hears is "you'll never measure up." I wonder how much their parents knew about Erik's flaws. I bet there was a lot more than the initiation thing that Wilhelm doesn't know about.

    From Simon’s perspective this had to the most awkward and uncomfortable birthday party ever. He’s “officially” meeting Wilhelm’s parents for the first time as the boyfriend, after awkward conversation Wilhelm leaves him at the dinner table with his parents for the remainder of the meal, Wilhelm then gets mad and guilts him into staying when Simon suggests that he should go because there are weird family vibes going on, only for Wilhelm to just explode 3 seasons worth of trauma at his parents in front of Simon, and throw all his presents on the floor and storm off.

    As someone with a mum like wilhelm who also had severe depression episodes, its unbelievably hard to be abandoned by the one person who should look after you. Its like ur invisible and its so frustrating to go through everything alone. I understand wilhelms anger 100%. Maybe it was harsh but this was wilhelm grief too over these 3 years.

    • @SassySoda
      @SassySoda Před 3 měsíci +1

      As a mum who has been through severe depression (thankfully made it out the other side), i want to say that your mum "abandoning" you might not be because she doesn't care about you at all. (i say "might" coz idk your mum and everyone's story is different) It could be that your mum feels very guilty for not being able to be there for you the way you need her to be, so she pushes you further away because maybe she thinks the best thing for you is for her to not be there at all, since she can't give you what you need.
      She's not capable of giving you the love and support you need because she's so mentally, emotionally and physically drained. Depression is a horrendous thing to go through and too few people understand exactly how it effects you, not just your mood, but physically as well. Not to mention all the nasty things the voice in your head says about you over and over again.
      Yes, it is horrible to be the child, feeling like your parent has abandoned you, but imagine how much worse your mum might be feeling for being the parent who has abandoned their child when that's actually the last thing they want!
      I'm not saying this to guilt you into feeling bad, as i said, idk your mum and it might be a completely different case, i just think people need to be more empathetic to those going through severe depression. It is an illness.

Im glad ur not in that depressive state anymore and i wish you well ❤

    A few notes :0) The curly haired woman playing the guitar sitting down is Lisa Ambjörn who wrote the show. I think August reading his letter was more about wanting her to see that he was like her in the beginning (bullied and lonely) - And what he had gone through which is also why he acted the way he did.... not as an excuse but as an explanation. He also said that he wished he had done things different with her. In my oppinion he is so in love with her - his whole demeanor changes when he is around her. Malte is an amazing actor. I think for Simon it was all just a culmination of the whole season that became too much. Sara og Simons dad is definitly flawed (as are they) - but because of his medicine he thought he could go out for just one beer with his friends (like he mentioned earlier). Oh and the queen being useless as a boss and mother - he is not wrong....

    The thing about August reading the letter to Sara was not to make her feel bad or anything. He has always told her that she is the only one he feels he could really talk to. And he just wanted someone to know that whatever he envisioned for himself and what he became and did was something he had wished he'd done differently. It's kind of very sad. It doesn't do justice to all the bad things he has done but at least there is some character development on his part.

      @leroselapin Před 3 měsíci +1

      @Jess_200 really? When Simon needed time, he gave him time. Every time Simon f*cked up (and he has A LOT!), Wilhelm ALWAYS go on protective mode for him. Simon is selfish. Look how things with Marcus went. He led him on just like Sara with August. They didn't have s3x whilst they were watching the movie because Marcus stopped him, and he pouted for it. He is used to people doing what he wants.
      And have you been watching this show? It has never been what Wilhelm wants, that's the problem. It's always what the crown wants. And still if that was true doesn't take away that Simon left when Wilhelm needed him the most and that makes him a crappy boyfriend. Imagine in Heartstopper Charlie leaving Nick by himself after he argued with his dad and brother when he came out... absolute sh*ty move.

    • @Jess_200
      @Jess_200 Před 3 měsíci

      @@leroselapin I never said simon was perfect, he has f*cked a lot of times as so has done Wilhelm.
      I just think you are asking a lot of Simon (and nothing of Wilhelm) because he is in the castle at Wilhelm's request, even though Simon feels uncomfortable and out of place. The conversation at dinner is stiff, W ignores Simon's attempt to include him in the conversation (piano classes) then W leaves Simon alone with the QUEEN and his dad. Later, Simon wants to leave because he feels that the tense atmosphere is his fault (it isn't), they have an argument where Wilhelm tells him he wants him there so Simon stays.
      Keep in mind that Simon has never seen Wilhelm so affected, he has not witnessed Wilhelm's panic and anger attacks. Wilhelm has enough of pretenses and confront his parents, after yelling horrible things to his parents (understandable), does not approach Simon to ask for comfort and to vent with him but rather he goes and smash his gifts and leaves him alone again in a place he doesn't know. Also we don't know if Wilhelm would accept Simon's comfort, he didn't like it when Simon tried to console him about Erick, since he didn't know him and has all the prejudices about royalty, why would it be any different when it comes to his parents?
      So Simon has had enough, he can't deal with what royalty entails (no private life, unjustified hate comments, lgbt+ bigotry, death threats, pretenses, no political stand, privilege, ... a lot of things that go against what defines Simon ) Wilhelm can barely handled it and he is a costumed to it.
      For you will have been better that Simon would pretend everything was fine for the night and then break up with him another day? Wilhelm doesn't need more pretenses (to be fair I don't think Simon is capable of it) and one of the first things he liked it about Simon is that he was real with him ❤

    • @leroselapin
      @leroselapin Před 3 měsíci

      @Jess_200 I truly understand all of this, and I feel like people think I'm taking Wille's side and I'm not but I also think people are taking more Simon's because hes more relatable since hes a commoner like most of us and dismissing Wille as "he's privilege" and forgetting that comes with demands too.
      Also, Wille did need comfort (just look at the scene with Felice. She was my favorite character from the whole show). The thing is, both Simon and Wille have the same issue but in complete opposite spectrums. Neither of them know how to communicate. One is through anger/blowing up, and the other is bottled in up everything, and that's unhealthy making this relationship toxic.
      I feel like this season needs 2 more episodes 🤔 because some things feel unfinished.

    I thought August’s letter to himself was pretty heartbreaking. He is clearly in a lot of pain and has been all along. That doesn’t excuse the many terrible things he has done, but as others have said, I think he wanted her to read the letter because no one else has seemed to understand him in the way she has. And it’s interesting that she forgives August in the same way that Simon has finally forgiven her. I really do understand why Simon says what he does at the end after watching Wille go off the deep end with his parents, and then destroying all of the presents. Simon looks absolutely terrified while that’s going on, I think the whole situation has really frightened him. Of course, we also understand why Wille finally goes all on his parents the way he does, know this is crushing for him. It’s part of the genius of this show that we can see everyone’s side of the story, and still be dismayed at the way it’s going.

Wilhelm was always giving things up, or willing to give things up, while Simon would never bend - and when he would, he would complain about it and make it like he is a martyr. I disagree. *Both* Simon and Wilhelm are going through a lot. There are no sides, no right and wrong. Simon has complied with deleting everything that Wilhelm and the Royal Court said. Simon was doxxed and a rock was thrown through his window. He and his family were put in danger. Simon deserves to have his boundaries and to have a say in the relationship. Wilhelm is majorly stressed and has no support. He’s grieving his brother’s death and grieving the brother he thought he knew. Wille has duties and can’t do want he wants to do.
