- Hey everyone, in this video we converted our new Slash 4X4 BL-2S into a Slash 4X4 VXL! This was a very simple and easy upgrade that you can do to your Slash as well!

I did this to my bl-2s and it works great threw the bl-2s in a old stampede build and it runs great
That’s awesome, I’ll be tossing it in the first RC I over bought with my own money as a kid. I’ll be sure to make this a video.
Enjoy the upgrade guys was honestly thinking of buying a slash with the hd parts and throwing in a vxl motor I have sitting make a fast project like this super cost effective too
I’m glad Traxxas started including the HD kits, you’re right it’s much cheaper. I think since they added the NEW Stampede 4X4 VXL we’re gonna upgrade again from 3500 to the 540XL.
@@redbanditracing when I decide to upgrade motor and esc in the sledge I could throw that in a bandit and figure out a mid motor since Traxxas won’t give us that or a 4x4 buggy

I was just curious, I have a rustler 4x4 Vxl, and recently the plastic hex rounded out and I was wondering what hexes you guys would upgrade to?
They are MIP, they have a great warranty, haven’t stripped one yet.

What do you guys think about the new stampede 4x4 Vxlv bummer you guys got the bl2s then they come out with that.
After looking at the specs, it seems like it’s just a name change. It’s the HOSS labeled as a stampede 4x4 VXL. If you look at Traxxas’s site, the hoss has been removed. It’s definitely an amazing car though, definitely worth it.

Both are great cars in their respective categories. If you are looking to race, go with the slash. If you’re a basher, you’ll have more fun either way the vortkes. Both are great cars though!
Why not just buy a slash with the vlx system in it already?
We wanted to buy the newer product. Also it comes with the $120 extreme heavy duty kit.
Price wise a better deal with BL2s
It is now a slash ultimate 4x4 with a clip on body! Love it

Because it's so more expensive. For almost the same thing.
I have no doubt the New 2S motor is 3S capable given its only 3300kv 3S should be well within its parameters.
The only reason it's not is because Traxxas deliberately program the software in the ESC to only work in 2S as well as make up some BS proprietary plug in attempting to not just swap out the ESC and have a vehicle that's almost as capable as the VXL for a fraction of the price.
Slash Ultimate is different in it doesn’t have all the aluminum upgrades.

I think what everyone wants to know is if the VXL ESC will work with the new 2S motor on 3S.
I think this video is a wasted opportunity
Dude that ESC won’t handle a 3s lipo it it burn up the ESC. Plus why would you use that little ESC on a 3500?

I'm pretty sure the ESC is 2S only, which means it won't even recognise a 3S.
So if you connect a 3S only the servo will work but you will have no drive.
The motor, however, should be able to easily take 3S, being only 3300kv.
You answered your own question on this video. You can’t use a 3s on this BL-2S ESC. It was not worth trying because I have plans on using the setup on another car….and this RC is 30 years old
I don’t think everyone wants to know, you just wanted to ask a stupid a$$ question 😂😂😂. The BL2S has a bullet connection it won’t work.
Did you read your owners manual? The bl2s system uses a bullet type connector, it wont work. There was no opportunity to loose. Great video
