I like washing my car, but I am with you on that UK roads are now run down, full of mad, dirt, sand and dead leaves. Detailing lasts for 10min of driving at most. The only thing that might make sense is wrapping the car but this costs up to 1000.
Lived in Germany, a car stays clean for at least a few days of summer driving over there. In the UK, my car is getting dirty even by standing on a driveway during summer 😂

I'm in the CBA camp ... until I start getting that horrible muck on my clothes/hands if I brush against the car. It's nice to see your car all shiny, but not worth this much palaver. Thought you were going to say it's only a few mins here & a few there, done in under an hour - takes me way longer! Glad you were honest with the 3hrs all that would certainly take. I'd probably have to split that over a few days!! Don't have enough life-force for that!

There’s something very satisfying watching you clean a car - I feel like I've achieved something…. Do you recommend spraying the instrument binnacle with cleaner - I’ve seen the plastic discoloured or smeared and it’s impossible to wipe off. I usually just give it a light dust with a dry cloth.

Hi love the channel, looking for some advice, I've owned an EV for nearly 8 years now but only Zoe's. I am in the last year of my PCP and was going to buy it outright but the balloon payment is a lot more than I can get a new er one, so I will just hand it back ..the question is , I have recently started takeaway deliveries and using the Zoe makes it worth while , so I'm in a dilemma, I have 11500 to spend on a EV to do deliveries so the seat mii is a great choice but Zoe's are going for about the same money as the miis,is there that much difference in KW per mile between the 2 , the range is fine on both because I only ever do about 50 to 80 a day when I work. I've been getting around 3.5 in the Zoe ( doing deliveries) driving it on the heavy footed side and it is in winter so I know it will go up from that when it gets warmer, do you think the mii will be any or a lot better thanks Trevor

Thanks Andy...some questions just wondering you didn't show it but there was a comment when you were inside the garage about using clay and sounded like you did on the windows is that correct? Also what type of brushes are they, just like paint brushes you use? Is it safe to brush inbetween all the buttons and nobs in the car with the wet brush before you dry it off? Didn't know you could put the car mats in the washing machine but if you had a dryer could you dry the mats that way or is it better to hang them out to dry? I assume that clay bar you used you can buy at any car shop that sells car cleaning products? Could you use the foaming snow as you called it with just a regular hose or does it need the jetwash? Waxing the car at the end could you use a electric buffer or is it just as fast doing it by hand like you did?

Hope these answers help, but you're entering a big old rabbit hole here.
Forget clay (you need to polish after) and just get some Fallout Remover (Autoglym Magma).
Look up Autobrite Direct brush set. Varying brushes have different levels of softness so you don't damage anything. Also, a Scrubber Dubber is way quicker easier and more effective than his method of interior cleaning.
Autoglym interior cleaner is lovely and foamy so around buttons his method is perfect.
Don't know about drying the mats.
Snowfoam softens dirt and you need to blast it off. Hose will not work effectively.
Wax is done by hand. However, look at a spray wax (autoglym ceramic spray). Far quicker and easier for a novice. If you've gone to the expense of a snow foam cannon, get something like Autoglym Polar Seal. Spray on, rinse off. Bloody amazing stuff.
Halfords is as good as anywhere for Autoglym products and loads of microfiber cloths, buckets etc. Autoglym are easily accessible, high quality and very easy for a novice to use (many products have application issues, AG don't).
If you don't have a pressure washer, just go to a jet wash to blast most of the crap off, then go home and hand wash.
Oh, and watch a ton of YT videos and go on the detailing world website before buying anything as I've only scraped the surface!
your wallet is gonna take an absolute battering! I love it!
If you decide all this is way too much like hassle, just do the interior! Get a scrubber pad and clean the steering wheel.
Hope this helped a tiny bit

I was always told that using a hi pressure jet washer on car panels was a sure way of gradually removing the layers of paint, due to the sheer power of the jet of water. If using at all, I was told you must spray at an angle, never directly at the bodywork. Perhaps I've been mislead, but I think I'll give it a miss.

I’d prefer to buy the plastic bottle, is it can be easily recycled. Whereas the pouch, although it may have a ‘recycle me’ logo in the blurb. They tend to be too expensive to economically recycle. And in all probability either be incinerated or dumped in landfill. Depends on the local authority and their recycling contracts.
I’m in the middle camp. But I have a friend who thinks car cleaning is a waste of time, money and resources. But then she can afford to replace her car every five years. Buys new or nearly new and after five years, the car looks absolutely awful and it’s worth not much. I guess her time is more important than saving money.
