Crazy how a £100k car can be shot to pieces at 70k miles. Mercedes are obviously nice cars to drive and look at but perhaps not to own.
That Merc had been passed around a bunch times by a group of incompetent owners.
If only the original millionare who first bought it had actually kept it
Depends which one you get, my E Class cost nowt and hasn't been a minutes bother.
I’ve a 1999 SL320 and now on 60k miles just used for the weekly shop.
Great Motor owned since 2010
Scotty Kilmer is adamant that Mercedes, BMW and Jaguar/Land Rover are some of the worst cars to own.
Rust is the first thing that comes to my mind when i see Mercedes 😅

Hi Matt, love what you do and your unending optimism and desire to save cars-even if you do end up with a few lemons. The “massive overspending” is always interesting because you take a motor that looks a complete dog and end up with something which looks and I am sure is a very decent motor. The punters who buy them end up winners which is quite often not the case in the motor trade.
So keep doing what you do, we’ll all keep watching and enjoying your output, and have a Happy and Hopefully Healthy and Prosperous New Year.

I think I got emotionally attached to it. I still have sellers regret this day.

That moldy old Civic was a cautionary tale about low mileage being deceptive. I would prefer a high mileage but well maintained car any day. Far more likely that many parts will have already been replaced rather than just waiting to fail.

Love the fact that you started with the F-type! I've just picked up a 2018 model P-340 V6 R-Dynamic manual in Caldera Red for under 30K and I love it! Your review early last year helped me decide it. It took me a year to make the jump from the Mk2 TT.
Great to see several Jags an the "Best" list - XK's are an amazing bargain - seriously tempted!🙂 Some right nails on the "Worst" list but made for some entertaining videos if its any consulation. Really enjoyed wacthing your channel for another year some interesting variations and upgrades in the production - so all good! Have a great new year and look forward to a lot more from HPA in 2024👍
