  • I thought I'd try to strike a balance between an effective detail and one that's easy to do/follow by someone who's not that bothered about cleaning / detailing cars and use only easy to obtain and good value products.
To make it easy to list and to add things at a later stage, I've created an Amazon Store Front.

Dear EVM, I can’t find a place to contact you by email, but I just want to thank you for your comprehensive video on Car detailing, with the Tesla. It gave me the confidence to do the whole Gtechniq thing, inside and out with top quality products. I have faced my second lockdown, as my wife and I got C19. But it was a great way to finish the isolation time with my new Niro 4 EV, (even though I can’t drive it for another couple of days. Your advice was invaluable, and I can look forward to professional results for years to come. Thanks also for the video on OHME, I have just purchased one, and have to get it installed, but again, it will all help. Keep up the good work, and thanks again. John K.

Great video, thanks for all the advice. And for sure I would like to see another video about interior cleaning. I especially find the inside of the windscreen hard to get properly cleaned with no stripes gleaming in the low sunshine.

I find Auto Glim Car Glass Polish is very good. No streaks and it doesn't mist up as much on cold days. Do not use household glass cleaner on your car, it has silicone in it which makes it look shiny, but does smear and fog more easily. The Auto Glim cleaner is also good for the bathroom mirror as it help that not fog so much too.

Thanks EVM that was a really useful video and yes and interior one would be great too. Most of the time I do just a quick once over but it's a great feeling when you've done a good job cleaning the car. One produce that I use regularly is RainX I love the way rain just beads of the glass and in rain it makes such a difference to visibility.

    Many thanks for that.
After many many years of watching Fullycharged (from day one pretty much), transport evolved and yourself of course we've finally managed to get our first ev, a used BMW i3, a car I've wanted since the first time I seen the concept.
We picked it up yesterday and I told the dealer to just leave the interior because I was afraid it would end up all shiny and horrible instead of the more matt finish the manufacturer intended.
It's the leather seats I'm particularly concerned with, so if you have any ideas that could save me many days trying to find the best product or technique that would be greatly appreciated.
Brilliant video as usual, many thanks again.
    Cheers.

    Hi Yorkshire bloke...
    Very interesting and clearly explained!
    However here is......
My alternative method of car care -
    1. Wait ’til it rains...
    2. Run out with a bucket of warm water containing a splash of £2.99 car shampoo/wax from B & M Bargains...
    3. Wash the car quickly with one of those mitt things....
    4. Go back indoors - rain will rinse car......
    5. CRITICAL PART - Don not look at the car too closely - if at all......!!!

This is why I follow your advice about products. Get what works for the way you work and don't get worked up about the little things. The only problem is that your main advice is be patient and use good technique... Yeah... I will just have to work on that.

This has inspired me. @EVM If you don't mind, I have a question about dealing with stone chips before I put on a proper wax. I have a Zoe with a few little stone chips which show little spots of different shades of red (and some white which I think is polish caught in the chip) under my metallic Mars Red. I've used Turtle Wax colour magic coloured wax with touch up wax sticks before on other cars on hairline scratches and was never really sure if it worked or I was wanting it to work. What's your view on dealing with stone chips and small paint scratches, short of a respray please? Is the coloured wax stuff any good at masking the imperfections or a placebo/scam and I just need to accept that there's chips?

@@ElectricVehicleMan Crikey, that's cheap, a small car down South is around £3k.
Any hoo, I asked because I'm looking at getting a Honda e & considering getting the black plastic between the headlights (which I bet will be pricey to replace & not repairable) as well as the front bumper, like you say it's probably cheaper for repairs on body panels so will not bother with any other panels. Just waiting on a price from some local companies.
