    About this video
    In this video Zane from Audio Tech TV (formerly Simple Green Tech) looks at how to setup Modo Drum in Cakewalk by Bandlab. This Cakewalk tutorial looks at using multioutput instruments in Cakewalk so you can assign each, individual, drum to it's own track. this will allow you to use VST FX on individual drums plus send them all to a drum bus where you can add a bus compressor, EQ or whatever you want. Take control of your drum sound and setup IK Multimedia's Modo Drum right.

    Nice explanation. I like how you addressed two ways of splitting out the drums to their own tracks.

    Thank you so much, I coincidentally just asked about this on another video of yours. Makes sense why I didn’t get a reply since you were probably working on this at the moment I asked. Great stuff, appreciate you man

    thank you for this tutorial, i implemented this as a basic template for drums that will cover all projects so i don't have to set this up everytime i create a new one.. cheers brother!

    You should charge for all this great information. This make me confident I could quit my job to become an audio engineer tomorrow.

    Cheers Zane. I've been trying to get my head around this for a long time. I'd just add that once you've done all the hard work save it as a template for future projects.

    It is a shame they did not go a step further with their modeling. The most obvious and important factor they missed is the material the drum shell is made of and it's thickness. Now that would be a cut above all the rest.

    I wish you had gone a step further and explained how to record all those tracks using an edrum kit or other triggering device.

    Hi Zane.
    Have you tried using MODO Drums CS with Waveform 11.5 PRO? I wrapped it in a rack to get the multi output capability and mapped each voice to a different track within MODO mixer as you did in part 1 of this video. I left all the track levels on 0db and didn't change anything in MODo itself but A/B testing with the Mulano Studio preset showed that the levels dropped considerably.
    I've no idea why routing through Waveform should cause that as it doesn't happen with other drum VI's. Any ideas?
    Cheers

      I will have to grab a copy or get good drums and see what I can do.

    Great video! I have a question, iam drummer by trade... albiet a novice, and just getting imto playing guitar. I have an IRIG HD2 that i use as my interface and can record the guitar track. my question is, do i need to set this up to be able to play grooves from modo drum? lets just say that i wanted to just drop a groove over from modo drum into a guitar riff that i created, will it just play the groove or do i need to map the drums for the DAW to be able to play the grooves?

    • @AudioTechTV
      @AudioTechTV  Před rokem

      You can just drop a groove onto the Modo track and it will play. If you’re wanting to do extensive mixing of the drums you can set it up the way that I show in the video. But if you’re just wanting to jam with the drums then there is no need to do that.

    this is a nice video - I have had issues with this VST for a couple years now and it just does not cooperate - audio dropouts all the time --stand alone it is fine. Resource/CPU all in the green and plenty of power(VST2 and VST3)/buffers raised etc. I have heard that this is more of an apple based software and they have not been able to get this to run correctly. I love the VST but it is unworkable so far --any suggestions on what it could be?

    • @AudioTechTV
      @AudioTechTV  Před 2 měsíci

      Have you tried increasing the buffer size for your Asio driver? I have no problem with this plugin on my i3 windows pc and I’ve used it in a few different DAWs.

    Why does the free kit hiss when using it so bloody annoying
