Hi, I've been using Cakewalk since the 12 Tone days and have stuck with it through it's ups and downs, as it has been on the sharp end of technology and was one of the best bang for your buck DAWs. Moreso now I guess. I'd just like to say as a long term user, I think that your videos are a great set of tutorials and will help a lot of new and some seasoned users with great advice!
I've also been using it since Cakewalk for DOS version 2.0 I'm only now, after using it for all these years and upgrading regularly (until they went out of business) finally learning to use as many of the features as I can. This was a great video, I was unsure as to why I would use an Aux send.

I used bus routing to aux tracks and it's great!
This can be useful, for example, for creating group stems, freeing up your computer's resources by recording several groups of instruments in one audio track! It's great to use for demo songs!)))😍☺️👍🎉🎶

Thanks for another insightful tutorial. What is the difference between the Gain an Levels adjustments? Don’t they both alter the volume?
I like to think of patch points before an aux track. A patch point is just a point in space where you send sounds, be it tracks, instruments, product of effects, whatever. An aux track is simply a track that can listen to a patch point, so the user can hear whatever is being produced at that patch point. It's very similar to a buss. One of the main differences is you can record the audio coming from an aux track, but you can not with a buss.

onereason you might want to route a bus back to an aux track would be to actually print the effects onto a track. Recently I had an issue where I had a cool homemade choir track that I was using Inspirata Lite for the reverb but it was choking up my CPU. So I printed the Gothic Church reverb onto the track to free up CPU. Rocking it old school.

I still unknow what is aux adventage to be in buss yo also cand sen d a paralel send level post and pre fader , i dont use aux because i dont se any adventage respect busses, also you canot freze a aux if this hapen there is a reazon to use it but this can happen.
Have you ever pressed Shift+B to unfold the Bus tracks right below the track view? It's hidden there silently... :-)
What if I wanted to send 3 lead vocal tracks to one bus to add reverb to All of them. Do I have to create an aux for each one before doing so?
Hi OgDaBeast_Shorts , you can send all three vocal tracks to one bus track that has a reverb effect in the fx. No aux track needed. But, if you want to pan the reverb left or right for a track , then you need an aux track for that . Then you can send both the audio and aux track (with panned reverb) to an empty bus track. You could have two guitar tracks each with a oppositely panned reverb aux track and send all four tracks to a bus.
Why is my aux track turning up my regular tracks db
I'm confused - what's the advantage of using an Aux track exactly? Using the example in the video, why not just use a reverb effect on the existing guitar track? Why create an Aux track for the reverb and why then route both of those to a Bus?
You can use your reverb as an insert effect if you like. Whatever works for you. With an six track you can route other instruments into the aux track which is great if you want several instruments to all kind of blend together in the same space that the reverb creates. To do that without the aux track would require you to put the same reverb in each track individually which could use up your cpu. A reason why I would route an aux track to a bus is sometimes I will use an aux track as a double and will add saturation and maybe some other effects to the double. Then I would route the original track and the AUX double to a bus to add some compression, maybe EQ and whatever other effects I want to help the two blend together. It’s all personal preference if you don’t want to use aux tracks and busses, don’t. Whatever works for you and makes the most sense for your songs. You don’t have to use these things all the time but they are available to you if you need them. Thank you for watching. Keep creating! 👊👍
Not sure if you check these comments from 2 years ago, but will give it a shot. Is there any way to have the bus show up next to the track in the console view. Like if I wanted to create a snare top/bottom bus and link them. I'd like to have it show up next to the tracks instead of having to scroll all the way over to the right. I know other DAWs allow this.
Use an AUX track like a bus and then you can move the AUX track next to whatever track you want.

If you have cakewalk set to use your computer’s sound card, you can plug your headphones into your computer like you normally would.

Trying to get a decaying "delay loop" going ala ITL Pensado video here czcams.com/video/MUb0Ln5GOCU/video.html and while I can get a Send sent from one DLY track to the another there no option is available to route the track back into the other and complete the loop. Hoping to source a solution by the Cakewalk Community....
