    About this video
    In this video Zane from Audio Tech TV looks at how to use your computer keyboard as a midi keyboard in Cakewalk by Bandlab. I even show you how to record using the virtual midi controller. If you don't have a midi keyboard yet or are away from your midi keyboard this can work. You can change the octave easily and even change the velocity. I hope this Cakewalk tutorial helped and if you want even more Cakewalk by Bandlab tutorials be sure to subscribe to Audio Tech TV on CZcams.

    Hello, thank you for the help. I noticed in the top right corner on file - edit area it says workspaces. I have choices of basic, advanced etc. the bottom left mixing area also looks different from what I have. Do you have a video that helps with set up before this tutorial? Th piano keyboard on cakewalk has no audio either. My voice records ok though. Thank you

    Zane, fabulous tutorials. Your pedagogical approach on all of them is absolutely superb. After watching these tutorials on Cakewalk I decided to give it a try instead of my free version of Ableton Live lite that came with my Komplete Audio 6 and as I am more into the traditional analog audio input type of workflow. A couple of questions though. First, does anybody have any experience with recent DAW surface controlers and Cakewalk?. I am thinking to get one either the Icon Pro Audio Platform or Pre Sonus FaderPort but want to make sure they will will interface decently with Cakewalk. Second, does anybody have any experience in sync Native Instruments Komplete Kontrol keyboards with Cakewalk?

    Hello I have a problem with cakewalk that the instruments do not sound and if they sound but with an irritating sound and vst plugin I installed do not sound can you help me plz🙏🙏🙏

    • @AudioTechTV
      @AudioTechTV  Před 3 lety +1

      I'm not really sure what you are trying to say. When your virtual instruments make sound they have an irritating noise?? Also the VSTs you installed do not make any sound? You haven't given me a whole lot of info and I'm not a 1 on 1 tech support person that can walk through this. All I can say is make sure your audio interface is setup correctly. If you are using the asio driver you may need to increase the buffer size.
      Some virtual instruments will only make noise when playing notes within a certain range on the keyboard so make sure you try other octaves to make sure you are in the correct range. But other then this I don't know what else to say. I have no idea what is happening.

    So I am having this issue where using my keyboard as a controller or clicking on the keyboard that comes up with the controller doesn't produce any audible sound. I can see that the controller detects the key movement, but that's all it does. If I click use the small keyboard that opens on the side of spitfire audio I can hear it. I can record using my keyboard but cant hear sound whilst I do it yet I can see it recording and hear the playback however clicking on the piano on the side of the app whilst recording allows me to hear it but dosn't record.
    So last time I used this I just down loaded it and it worked so I have no idea about this. Have gone though many forums and found no fix. I might try delete and reinstall everything again.
    Any thoughts anyone?

      My guess is that you didn’t install the add ons when you installed Cakewalk. Go back into the Bandlab assistant and go to the section that you installed cakewalk from then click the drop down menu and click install add ons. Then you will get the instruments.
