- 2020 Cadillac XT6 Review by The Straight Pipes. The Cadillac XT6 is all new with a naturally aspirated V6 putting out 310hp and 271lb ft of torque. With a loaded price of $73,193 Canadian Dollars, does it have what it takes to compete against the Lincoln Aviator, BMW X7, Mercedes-Benz GLE, Acura MDX, Audi Q7?

how is there a 15 hour old comment on a video posted 1 minute ago?
@@tomhan its a private or an unlisted video i guess :v
Aviator for me tbh. Far more effort went into making that not the Explorer that it came from than the effort that went into making this not the same as whatever plebian shitbox it came from.
2020 Hyundai sonata please
Looks like a Nissan Rogue. Pass!
"These visors feel cheap." The GM parts bin strikes again.
That’s what actually really sad the c8 isn’t gonna be delivered till April 2020 due to strikes and being 35 minutes from gm headquarters in Detroit it’s very sad that gm represents Michigan and we put off workers instead of paying them and giving safe conditions but it just goes all to the ceo that’s swimming in billions
Like I don’t think people understand much about 85% of cars and trucks on the road are Chevys or ford explorers we support Chevy so much in Michigan that the most common car is a Cruze and we constantly get messed over by poor build quality from our friends right down the road fords kinda better but fords are fords If you know what I mean
@@gsjourney3054 no what are you mean 🤔
No it doesn't they are just liars.
Still better quality than MOPAR, but that's not saying too much.
Yeah that “400” badge was a bad decision, Caddy 🤦🏼♂️
Almost every decision made by Cadillac in the last 5 years has been bad :/
Go ask Mercedes what engine is in a GLC 43 AMG. lol
@@nates3080 *25
@@helloandrewc bi turbo v6 bitch, literally can be tuned to 500whp on stock internals
XXX Vert yeah but what displacement
lmao 400nm isnt even a lot like wtf are they smoking
duviday just trying to cover up that theyre using the same 3.6 v6 theyve been putting on all their suvs for over 10 years
the car was suppose to be 400nm but the tuners got lazy
Also just thought of this but the aviator is its biggest competition and it has 400 hp, so maybe cadillac put that on there to try to trick naive soccer moms into thinking theyre equal
My theory on the "400" badge is that since GM assumes the XT6's main competition will be the Mercedes GLE 350, having a slightly higher number on the tailgate, even if it essentially means nothing, will have people subconsciously assume it's a better vehicle.
What they do to come up with the numbers is pretty stupid, but I’m pretty sure that it’s really good marketing. Lexus and Mercedes use big numbers on their cars like this, so Cadillac thought it was a good idea to do it to theirs too.
In a parallel universe this would've been the new Saab 9-7x lol Great review boys!
CRB B lol 😂
Cadillac reaaally stepped up their design with the XT4 and 6. Great proportions and styling!
inside sucks though
@@vernonpaigejr.1517inside is nice. Materials are premium
So this is the Cadillac version of the Acadia/traverse
@John Gilroy Let me know what you drive, and we'll talk.
Same platform as the Traverse yes.
When it comes to gm the Acadia, Blazer, and XT6 Share the same platform. Where the Traverse and Enclave share the same. The Traverse and Enclave are significantly bigger than the Acadia and XT6/ GM is viewing this as a sporty 3row family model and wants people to continue buying the Enclave if they want a luxury 3row that is big but not Suburban/Yukon XL/Escalade ESV big.
@@drakeheth it's all the same platform. There is a long and short wheel base version.
Yes but without the magnetic suspension or the luxury. Is this a question or an insult?
14:05
XT6: "I believe this human is being dragged by an deer."
"If my crew pick me up with this, I think I need a new crew" got me dead lol
_5:36__ "and since you're 7 feet tall, and I'm 6 feet tall..." -- Yuri_
Based on Cadillac's nomenclature, aren't you both 10 feet tall? :)
(or convert to SI unit.)
I think they're actually 50 feet tall
Isiah Davis No! They round to 1 billion feet tall!
They’re both 2000mm tall, in Cadillac units. Possibly Jakub is 2500mm.
Love your videos. Thanks to you guys I ended up buying the 2020 RDX after watching your review on it. You guys were spot on. Thanks for the help.
I'm not in the market for this kind of car, but I just enjoy watching y'alls videos.
Despite the Aviator being a lot nicer than the XT6, I would go with the XT6 because I like the way it looks way more than the Aviator.
I wish over here in Europe there were more of such cars and not always the same mercedes, bmw and Audi's...
M R You’re not missing out on much I was in the market for 2016 5-series but ended up buying 2017 CTS and I regret it. Ride is much rougher in the Cadillac even though I got the magneride suspension and the transmission actually has a class action lawsuit against it, check it out it’s the GM 8-speed (GM 8L45). Compared to the ZF you get in the 5 series it is utter garbage and yet the Cadillac dealer says it’s working fine. On the highway it looks for highest gear to the point where the whole Powertrain shakes like a manual trans that is lugging, it jerks forward after auto start-stop at the traffic light. All in all Audi bmw and Benz have a MUCH better quality to them and I wish I had gotten a year older 535ix or e350 instead.
Your comment makes no sense, Cadillacs are sold in europe...
@@Mgoblagulkablong talking about making sense look at your name
Thanks for the video review I'm picking up a 2022 sport in a few days. This got me pumped!
I test drove the xt 6. It’s nice for someone who has a big family. I have 2 boys so I chose the xt5. Never been so impressed. Caddie has one of the sharpest looking suvs on the road. Genius concept on the what I call the waterfall Led head lights.😇 Love driving my xt 5🎉😎
0:36 Jakub we all know you're not wearing Vincero aside from the sponsorship XD. Nice SKX btw, I see you have good taste in watches and cars.
skx is an entry watch bro, it has nothing to say about anyone's taste
@@dmidhordenko2676 I know that's it's an entry level watch, that doesn't make my statement incorrect. I'm suggesting through my comment he's not into cheap marketed fashion watches that have Alibaba watch quality. I'm also saying and pointing out his association with Vincero is only business-related. Overall, you can have good taste buying a lower level watch. Same thing with inexpensive cars. Price tier isn't the sole factor of taste or lack of it.
@@Swamp-Cooler Still better than Vincero, Fifth, MVMT etc.
Another great review guys! Thank you for providing your honest opinion even though Cadillac provided the test vehicle and opportunity for the review.
Also, thanks to Cadillac math, the length of my gentleman's sausage is 300.
Man, Cadillac was poised to make a comeback at the beginning of the decade and they really just had to ruin it.
It's GM being GM. They couldn't let Cadillac spread its wings too far so they fired the guy in charge and replaced him with another GM Good-ol-boy.
Exactly. The new CTS, STS, and SRX were competitive newcomers... However, they took too long (and once they did, it was too little too late) to improve them and missed the mark completely when it came to a compact crossover rival to the X3.
Evan Ganske the 2013 ATS and XTS were great, as was the 2014 CTS. Then with the new ones they took a step backward
watching the XT6 6 minutes after it's been posted? Hells yeahhhh
_3:00__ "the tail lights don't go all the way up... That's a Cadillac thing... They should not stop..." -- Yuri_
I absolutely agree.
(Though Volvo also had that.)
I went and checked it out it’s nice... I decided to buy a 2019 GMC Arcadia Denali and save 18k.
Did your driver side window control buttons break yet? How about that shift to park error? How do I know this?
@@BrianKenney-wc4qd???
@@grouchosays Just saying the issues I had with my 2019 Acadia Denali after a few years. Besides those annoying issues I actually did love it, upgraded to an XT-6 and the build quality and much smoother transmission so much better.
From the side it looks like a modern Dodge Journey
This is the best version of the new Cadillac front end that’s been evolving. I love the way it looks, and it seems to do enough that if I had the cash I might take this over the Germans just to be different.
Glad Cadillac finally caught up with the 12 year old MDX.
This thing is STUNNING, especially in person. It does look too much like the X7 but they got the grill right. However, they flopped on the side profile.
7:32 The most nonchalant launch of all-time, I am happy to be alive to witness it.
I Love the way this truck looks❤️🔥
Reliability and depreciation will forever prevent me from buying a Cadillac.
@Jack njones true but some are worse than others.
Most will lease this junker anyways. Warranty coverage.
All my Cadillacs have been perfectly lovely cars. Even the lousy ones.
@I know it all. I know it all. They're just overdone Chevy's....they're not special, at all. I could care less about depreciation because when I purchase a car, I intend to drive it until it dies. I dropped $43,900 on my Kia Cadenza in 2014. Test drove the Avalon and Cts as well, The Cadenza had better styling, much better ride, it was also noticeably more quiet inside than both the Toyota or Cadillac, that's why I chose it. Hasn't given me a single issue so far, just surpassed 110k miles. It really says something when people are choosing Kia's over Cadillacs nowdays.
Certainly wouldn't want to mess with a Mercedes or BMW either than, as they're even WORSE in those departments.. Lexus would be the best bet for those goals.
Holy crap, I never realized I am 7 feet tall! Now I feel like a freak! Thank you Cadillac.
You guys nailed the intro
Just saw someone drove this I was like dammm what car is that 🔥🤙🏼 love how they design it
Keep the look, take out the third row and give more space in the 2nd, and this SUV would be perfect
TBH the front end has been looking better than previous years.
Picked up my 2020 premium lux - love it
Love the reviews! I’d love to see a review of the 2020 Ford Expedition Max.
1:26 Looks like it was designed by Rockstar games.
Sneaker head 1 they used that design for the revolter in GTA 5
MySpace - yeah it looks exactly like that.
Actually GTA V had a lot of designs from real conceps or renders of cars that ended up being almost exactly like it. For example the Oracle 2, the game is from 2013 but the car looked what the next gen 7-Series (G11) would be. The Huntley S is the render of what the people thought the Bentayga would look like, the same with the Adder and others.
Really enjoyed the music in the beginning!!!

night vision was introduced in an automobile when the evoq concept car was shown then the deville was the first in 2000 to bring it to the showroom floor I love how people talk tech but forget this house was a leader in a lot of areas but have let others catch up
It's all about that fascia with the exterior, because the rest is just like any typical SUV.
Think Cadillac is content on being in the low/mid level category.
Video recorder capability ( if it worked properly ), rear view mirror camera and especially night vision are really helpful tech features.
i'll be looking forward to seeing low mileage XT6s at my local Toyota dealer in the next 6 months..

@@savlyfe5492 1.. why so mad? 2 Cadillac are junk for their price. Toyota makes great SUVs especially the Highlander.

Rounding to the nearest 50th should technically be 350... Cadillac didn't round, they just lied lol
Thomas Fisher it’s rounded to the nearest hundred. Cadillac is being hyperbole and hosts can’t do math
That title alone is shots fired
The best part of video was the part that you mentioned you re gonna do a review about aviator
Cadillac needs ta split from gm and start making their stuffs betta
At 1:30 it looks almost exactly like a Dodge Journey.
Exactly.
It doesn't look like the Journey in any aspect aside from the fact that they're both suvs, but somehow I see the resemblance.
Wow! It's shape allows for an easy morph into a Journey.
Tyvek Homewrap+ I think they’re saying it looks like a Journey because of how the ass of the XT6 sticks up in the air while the front stays low.
The wheels are the biggest resemblance
Pls give acceleration times and performance in snow to your suv reviews. Thank you. Great reviews. Very entertaining.
When Jakub tried to show the lag in the paddles it literally shifted the instant the paddle was clicked, if you go back and listen it sounds like a dual clutch! the car was probably just shifting by itself for some reason but the timing was really funny 8:25
No it absolutely didn't. It took several seconds
The front looks like this:
What if the X7 had 1 wide grill
No.
Jaycob 750 an escalade?
The front of this car looks like the 00 model xt6 with the Toyota Highlander made n the back.
why do more and more manufacturers decide its too hard to put actual exhaust pipes in nowadays? The only exception I can think of right now is BMW, my mom's 2019 X3 has two functional exhaust pipes that are actually connected to the exhaust system LMAO
M T E porsche?
Mazda has real exhausts.
They actually are trying to avoid the instant black soot that typically happens. And getting burnt by an exhaust tip is not worth it when you are loading and unloading with them next to your leg. Probably even better to just make them turn downs and get rid of the fake tip.
Because the direct injection engines emit tons of black soot, they want to hide that.
I knew this review was coming. This car looks awesome in person .
No it doesn't. I live near a Caddilac dealership, and they look like Generic SUV #4 to me with a black grille.
@@Gltokensp06 I dont see anything generic about it. Possibly similar lines to other SUVs but def a nice car. I aint a fanatic so I can see where you're coming from. Does look generic but the grill isnt a grill, its fake piece to make it look like a grill. They def could have done better but nonetheless its a nice car for what it is.
Phish Radio in Quebec’s PEI, you guys are the coolest! 👍
The side profile reminds of the dodge journey.
Yea not a good look... Front looks great but side is bad.

@@chucknorris5141 I love it! Great fuel economy and looks and performs great!

Lincoln and Cadillac should work together where Cadillac designs the exterior and lincoln takes control of the interior. I really think a car like that would compete at a rolls royce level.

What happened to the pink sweater? Great video guys!!
Cotton Hill loves his Cadillac Car
Why would anyone buy this over say a Palisade or even an Explorer. Both of those offer similar power more space and more features for far less money.
RJK_2013 not the explorer since it still uses quite a bit of plastic can can sticker well over 55k, but for sure a telluride or palisade
0:13 disappointing door closing sound
Visor test!! Awsome
Cadillac's explanation for the power number badge is for hierarchy.. A 300 model is lesser than a 400 model. This will make more sense when Cadillac eventually switches to an EV-based lineup, where it will help signify the torque and/or battery range. A clever and unique idea imo. At least Caddy's number badge actually stands for something specific to the car/engine, unlike BMW's 28, 35, 40, 55, etc etc and MB's 220, 250, 300, 350, 450, 560, etc, which used to signify engine size, but now has turned into pure mumbo-jumbo.
Holy shit that front end is beautiful
Kind of looks like a smirking muppet to me, like when Kermit goes "hmmmmmm"
Well, you got the "sh*t" right!!
It looks like a Mazda
Cadillac thinks dogs are deers! Haha 14:00

That’s hilarious 🤣
Went to the dealership and sat in one the other day and the exterior is attactive and interior is also very nice. The Palisade seems more luxurious then the XT6 honestly. The Palisade has ventilated second row seats, quilted leather, amazing adaptive cruise control etc. Still a nice vehicle though.
