    Just traded my xt5 which I had for three years and not issue. Picked up a Xt6 sport trim a week ago and LOVE the truck. I’ve owned an Escalade and this more practical, moves too. Stopped to gas up and had two guys ask me what I was driving. Same when I went to the local pizzeria. Hot truck, especially if you need a kid hauler. Funny I was going to try to get a new corvette but after seeing the markup pricing I bought another Caddy. By the way, owned 5 Cadillacs (Srx, Escalade, Xt5, Wife’s Xt5 still under lease, now the XT6) and never had a mechanical issue.

    Nice detailed review. Thanks for clearly pointing out this SUV actually can be outfitted with a spare tire (too few reviewers take the time to mention it, let alone show it). This particular spec in your video is extremely attractive inside and out. One would say it’s almost like a large, fancy station wagon 😉

      II really like your reviews! I’m a Cadillac fan and owner, but my jury’s still out regarding the XT6. I would like to have seen a design for the side view that makes it uniquely “Cadillac” to match the front and rear. Like you, I’ve always like the CTS Sport Wagon profile. A new version of THAT with the new updates would be AWESOME!

    • @burmupro

    @apieceofdirt4681 Před měsícem

    Personally I’ve only got 3 complaints about the XT-6 one of which is GM in general. My GM complaint is none of their vehicles have an optional Blu-Ray/DVD surround sound system. My 2011 SRX has the 5.1 surround sound system and it sounds exceptional! I can listen to all of my DVD-AUDIO 5.1 music discs but that option was dropped from Cadillac after the 2011-2012 model years unless you want to drop $80-$100K plus for an Escalade. I know everything is about wireless and streaming these days but true surround sound quality is unmatched when compared with regular stereo. Cadillac prides itself on luxury and performance but doesn’t provide any for of high quality audio. Apple Music has a bunch of albums and tracks mixed in Dolby Atmos that are mind blowing. I hate Michael Jackson but once I heard “Billy Jean” in Dolby Atmos on my home theater I’m totally hooked on that surround sound technology. It blows away plain stereo audio!
    My next complaint is the interiors of the XT lineup. Every interior I’ve seen has this fake looking carbon fiber trim. It just looks fake. I’ve only seen one XT5 with amazing wood trim on the dash driver and passenger doors and gear shifter but nothing that nice on the XT6.
    My final complaint is the engines power output. Again, Cadillacs are supposed to be the best of the best and for $70K PLUS I only get one engine option and that one engine only puts out 310HP. For that price there should be a couple engine options, especially for the sport edition, and at least a 350-375HP engine. When it comes to styling Cadillac did a good job with the XT6. It’s a handsome sturdy vehicle that handles well but It’s just not a “fun to drive” vehicle. For the price it should be everything worth mentioning and then some but that’s just my opinion.

      Hey, The_Notorious_9. I'm 5'8, but you're correct. The XT6 does have quite a bit of room inside. It's basically Cadillac's crossover version of the Escalade. Maybe just a smidgen smaller than the standard wheelbase Escalade.

      Upgrade from what? It's not replacing anything in its lineup. Also the climate control carried over from the XT5 is cheap to touch. I think for the money and the vehicles it's competing against, gauge cluster, center infotainment, drivetrain, engine, etc are all middle of the class if not closer to the rear of the pack. They should have just stretched out the alpha2 or omega platform which supports rwd and awd instead of using whatever platform GMC Acadia uses

      While the Escalade has 4-wheel drive, it's based on a rear-wheel drive platform, BGB infos. The XT6 on the other hand, while AWD, is built on a front-wheel drive platform. This affects handling due to the way power is distributed (more to the front wheels first). Both can be driven in two-wheel drive only for better fuel economy so the Escalade is then strictly rear-wheel drive, whereas the XT6 becomes strictly front-wheel drive. Hope this helps a bit and thanks for watching!

    I think Cadillac missed a great opportunity to compete better with Ford and European competitors by basing the XT6 off the rwd CT6 platform. Use the same available engines and different suspension options. This XT6 is just a polished up GMC Acadia and not the better and larger Buick Enclave and Chevy Traverse. GM makes good engines yet their choices on where and when to use them is deplorable. As is their idea of going completely electric by 2028 😮 The Lincoln Aviator, BMW X5-7 and Mercedes GLS SUV's are much better in terms of design and execution. The Jeep Grand Cherokee is even a better vehicle. Nevermind the entries from the Korean and Japanese luxury brands. So is this a good vehicle, Yes. Is it worth the money, NO just buy the better Buick Enclave or Top trim Chevy Traverse and save thousands and have more cargo and passenger capacity with the same powertrain. Or for the same price get a 400hp twin turbo V6 AWD RWD biased Lincoln Aviator Reserve or the Acura MDX and BMW X5-7 certified used with low miles. I'm sure in 4 years this vehicle will have depreciated by almost half in price with low mileage and maybe a better warranty if certified. Buying these overly priced vehicles new is just nonsensical and a waste of money. Most people who buy these vehicles have them parked most of time anyways.

      While we agree you can see the family resemblance between this and the Blazer, this is definitely a nicer vehicle, Torsee. Chris has been hating on Cadillac for quite a while, but he had to admit that the XT6 is pretty nice. Of course, he liked the Blazer, too. 🤔 Thanks for watching!

      Very true. That Blazaliac only costs an extra 30k for what boils down to transportation..
