Thanks Rob. The cylinder arrangement and position on the boiler were some of the things that attracted me to this engine. I do like engines that are just a little bit different. Cheers, Alan.
hi alan, lovely job, nice series, i've just got back from a 4th run on my loco i scratch built in the series i video'd. This just finished the afternoon off nicely, the whole steam experience is great, the engine you've built runs lovely and the sound is hypnotic!!!!👀👀😁 One question how do you know how much water is in the boiler i couldn't see any water gauge or did i miss that.!! take care mr f
Thanks. There is a level plug in the boiler end cap at the burner end of the boiler. I just fill the boiler till water dribbles out of the level plug hole. On a large boiler like this one you ideally want between 1/2 and 2/3 of the boiler full. Cheers, Alan.
impressive result , know what you mean by steam engines taking a while, to stop myself getting stale with my ship diorama I sort of play with new Stirlings. Thank you for showing
@@eifionjones559 So do I! You are right though, when you have put the effort in and it turns out alright it is very rewarding. Then of course, I guess that's we all do it in the first place 🙂
Thanks for sharing!
Great end result Alan. The steam out of the chimney looks good. Interesting double acting wobbler cylinder arrangement. Cheers Rob

A lovely restoration and a great design as well. Runs like a sewing machine, all credit to you.
Thank you. The whole layout and design was what I found interesting. I think it's always nice to see engines which are a little bit different.
A wonderful three part series Alan. I love it when a plan comes together. Thank you. 🤠
Thanks Charlie. As I said, it was a lot of work but definitely worth it. Cheers, Alan.

Thank you. I only mention the time that it takes because I think that the videos can give the impression that it only takes a short time.
