Unbelievable, I have never seen such intense acting and storytelling, almost as tempestuous as the book that I read when I was 15 years old. Incredible. Blows me right off my feet.
exatamente o que eu pensei!
I will watch it now!
Maybe the best novel ever written
Thanks from Chile 🇨🇱🇷🇺
Certainly Dostoyevsky's best.
Agree
Without any doubt!
Definitely the best novel ever written.

I am discovering Russian cinema through these great masterpieces.
This is not Russian cinema, but Soviet cinema. And this is important!
@@bitteralmonds3768 Ahhh Ok. Thank you for providing accurate information.
@@bitteralmonds3768 Russians have been at the forefront of all the arts. Literature , classical music , ballet , and so much more . Russians. Not Soviet Union !
@@bitteralmonds3768 The pol or gvt didn't make the film so your remark makes no sense.
@@bitteralmonds3768 F.M. Dostoevsky was Russian.... this is a Russian movie... Russia existed before the Soviet Union...
Dear Mosfilm, Thank you for another classic of which movie I never knew existed until today. Greetings from Kansas City, MO USA.
Thank you, thank you, Dostoevsky at his best. Beautiful. This was when filmmaking in Russia was epic. Consider Sergey Bondarchuk's, 'War and Peace' 1966
I usually don't watch movies, but I watched this whole one with my grandmother the other night. I loved the book, and i loved this adaptation with the phenomenal acting, costumes and settings, and fast moving plot. Thanks Russia and Dostoyevsky!
Wow! Another gem to watch after Peace and War. Nothing compares to these films. Watching from the Philippines.
Are there any movies made in Philippines?
These restorations are miraculous. Thank you!
Mosfilm, Thank you for these classic cinematic uploads---and for the English subtitles. Best Wishes from USA.
Thanks millions for keeping in Russian original audio and subtitles in English.
Wow....what excellent great work you' ve done.
Spasiva🙏🙏🙏
To me, Russian Literature is so unique that it must be filmed by the Russians themselves in order to be superb in cinematic art (the only exception is David Lean's Doctor Zhivago)
We would never see these great films outside of Russia if not for your sharing.
Beyond words! I wish I could be more articulate to express how tbk touched my soul when I first read it. Since then emerged in me this love to humanity and the desire to fight this mental war that we all face inside.
And now this adaptation has added this touch of passion, intensity but also delicacy. I don't think any other production can reach the level of spiritual connection.
I have NEVER seen this great film adaptation looking so good. Thank you very much!
i love how Dmitrij looks almost exactly as I imagined him while reading and how they gave importance to the long steps factor of his walk
Thanks mosfilm! It was a pleasure viewing the 3 parts of this wonderful film! Pure joy!!
One of the best book to movie.
I read the book first and had the characters pictured very similar like in the movie, now after watching the movie I can not unmake the characters when reading the book.
Thank you for uploading this masterpiece in HQ.
You start seeing it, and you are enraptured until the end. This is a work of art that goes beyond almost everything movies were able to show. The actors are superlative, the choice of dialogue is amazing, scenarios are unique. Thank you Mosfilm for giving us Dostoyevsky in such a congenial way.!
Said it before and I'll say it again: Soviet era of Russian Cinema is better than modern day Russian cinema.
By far.
Much better than Hollywood too
Absolutely! These films are true cinema!
It just does not exist nowdays.
Thank you a million for this masterpiece! I am so grateful to this channel for uploading the originals of the originals, great literature and beautiful cinema as well🙏🏻❤️🎞
This masterful dramatization makes me want to read the book again. Not having seen the full three-part treatment, I am struck immediately by the inspired casting -- the old Fyodor Karamazov is a superb realization of the old rascal of the novel, and he delivers his lines with utter conviction. Ivan is overly intellectual; Dmitry is a bull; Ivan is innocent. And Smeryakov, Smerdyakov is a perfect snake.
Alexey is innocent, you mean?
Hey, @@gaHuJIa_Macmep , good catch. Yes, that's exactly what I meant to say. The actor portraying Alexei has a youthful and innocent mien.
no chases, nor insufferable 15 minute long cgi battles ...it's refreshing to see
Dmitry is the most genuine and sincere in this novel. Beautifully depicted by Michail Ulyanov..
THANK YOU SOOOOO MUCH FOR UPLOADING THIS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Magnificent. Everything is anything and then is certainly not , beautifully depicted. Thanks a lot for uploading this gem.
Thanks for uploading this! For those seeing it, please also read the novel itself. This filmatisation, although excellent in many ways, miss some crucial elements, such as the Grand Inquisitor, and more. So my advise is to use them together.
Thank you for this! What a treat! Greetings from USA!
This is how sound should be uploaded! The world is noisy and some of us are hearing impaired! We can always turn it down. Thank you!
Brilliant movie
Wonderful! Thank you Mosfilm - & excellent subtitles most appreciated💚
A bilingually fluent human being wrote the subtitles. All us viewers appreciate his or her work.
Thank you very much.
Your channel is very appreciated, preserving great Rusky films!
Solaris appeared in my feed so I got here.
Karamazovs novel is my favorite Dostoevsky's work. Now just to find time to watch the film.
Thanks for this treasure chest of art :)
Russian cinema absolutely amazing. literally mind blowing.
I just finished watching War and Peace. That is a very different world compared to the one depicted in "The brothers Karamazov". And that difference, in my view, reflects the changes in Russian society. By the time the latter was published, Alexander II had ascended the throne, abolished serfdom in Russia, and reorganized the judicial system, opening the courts to public audiences and, separately, granting greater freedom to the press. All of which were reflected in "The brothers Karamazov".
Thank you. Always loved the book, a masterpiece. Now this film as well. Wonderful!
Este UNIC!RESPECT DEPLIN!🙏
Omsk?
very very enjoyable; wonderful acting.
Dostevsky = the greatest!!!!
Thank you mosfilm thank you F Doltoyevsky for this movie
I loved Crime and Punishment and thought deeply about the books words.
I have attempted to read" The Brothers Karamozov "
I have failed to hear the dialogue by reading these books.
This film helps me hear the books visually 😊
Thankyou.
Check Idiot, unfortunately only the first part was taken, but still.. very static and theatrical, but i absolutely enjoyed it
check out Bruce Perie's reading at Librivox

Thank you so much for sharing. Life is beautiful, free great movies three parts. Hidden gem. Time well spent.
Absolutely amazing. Gold. Superb. 🙏🏻💫✨️✨️✨️✨️✨️👌🏻

My request is fulfilled 🎉🎉🎉 thank you mosfilm for posting all the great films ❤❤
Wonderful. Many thanks from New Zealand.
Kudos. This is brilliant, truly magnificent.
Thank you very much Mosfilm
Many thanks for another great film 👍
These restorations truly are exemplary examples of how to do so best-in-class... bravo!
Fantastic. This brings back memories of Russian films of the Sixties and Seventies when numerous adaptations were produced, including English Shakespearean plays and of course Russian authors. I seem to remember elements of this version, so maybe it was released in film festivals as one complete film sometime in the early Seventies? Thanks Mosfilm for collating these great examples of Russian cinema in an accessible place.
Wonderful. Thank you very much 🤩😍
Sick! Thanks for uploading with English subs. I've never seen a Russian movie before
Masterpiece!
Mosfilm can you guys please upload Andrei Tarkovsky's 1983 movie Nostalghia. Thamk you.
The novel is a masterpiece and the most brilliant I´ve ever read. Thank you for uploading this.
Incredible 🎬
Thank you for the English subtitles. What a film! Thank you.
"Official submission of Soviet Union for the 'Best Foreign Language Film' category of the 42th Academy Awards in 1970."...I always believed that that Cold War stuff was BS to keep people in fear mode.
So true sadly
My favorite book and a fantastic film adaption
What a great movie,thank you!
Thank you!
Is this a new restoration? It looks gorgeous! Will it be released on BluRay?
this was superb....no words.
Read it when I was 17 - along with the other three main novels. The father of the Karamazovs was a hideous character, too bad for his sons.
❤ great film 📽️🎥📽️
In our current, modern era of 20-21 century, in which our civilisation is enjoying the highest of standards of education available in the history of human kind, and almost to everyone in the world.. despite of that fact, our civilisation is declining in almost all of the human qualities, physically and psychologically.. classic literature is the best of witnesses to that fact..
But education standards are drastically falling, not improving!
@@heddwyn3914 that is correct too.. human greed is changing the perception of priority of the human needs.. after watching movies like this, that should be classified as "life changing experience", I get reminded how "small", "narrow", and "shallow" a human kind is.. it torments me for days after..
I agree with your verdict on the movie. But as for humanity I largely feel compassion, because something has been moulding them to be 'small, narrow and shallow.'@@simodjordjevic2701
Highest standard of education??
Wow! Such interesting characters!

Can you upload the lenin in October, the 1937 film which is 1 hour and 45 minutes with English subtitles, as well as lenin in 1918, 1939 film, the uncut version which is 2 hours and 5 minutes with English subtitles?
Are you communist? Suspicious.
I wish that the subtitles would stay longer on the screen. I have difficulties in following the story line because of that. A loss for me but I had to stop watching the movie because I have no time to read the subtitles of a movie that is so interesting to me.
Thanks. awesome
After reading Notes From Underground, I see more clearly Katerina’s infatuation with Dmitri. She is in ‘love’ because she was insulted, so she needs to get back at him, to subjugate or tyrannise Dmitri so she is the more dominant, the nobler one.
Good film series, just that foreigners would probably look more at the subtitles than watch the actual picture.
What is the starting hymn of the movie sung by the orthodox brothers ?
Maravilhoso!
Thank you mosfilms............I requested this film last year
kindly upload the other version of this movie too.....by director Yuri Morozov
Can’t wait to watch this!
Maybe the densest novel I"ve ever read. I really recommend the Avsey translation but it's fun to read the different versions.
Look forward to watching this adaptation.
Se agradecería con subtitulo en español
Best book and movie , love from 🇮🇳❤🇷🇺
Damn good!
This is brilliant. But where to see the whole thing? Aren't there 12 episodes in total?
Our dear friends , Happy NY! You all should know that subtitles are only given to communicate you the general idea. Unfortunately they don’t convey all the richness , depth and elegance of the thoughts and dialogues, please make an effort to learn Russian , that’s the only way to enjoy fully pieces of Russian literature and art, all your efforts will be rewarding. Trust me 🙏🏻
I just got the book as a gift for Christmas. I asked for it actually. I like the production but like with most subtitled movies, I can barely keep up and still take in the scenes. I don’t know how people do it.
Love this movie. Thank you for uploading. Theres another great Yul Brynner movie ' The Journey' that's fantastic if you could please upload that, would be awesome. Stay blessed. X
I imagined Alyosha looking a bit younger but anyway, this movie is great. Though i am quite sad that they removed the scenes with Liza and the boy biting his finger.☹️
