Have you ever uploaded "The Admirable Crichton" starring Kenneth Moore and Diane Cilento?
Sadly, I have not been able to find "French Kiss" starring Kevin Kline and Meg Ryan anywhere on CZcams or to rent/buy on CZcams; hearing "La Vie En Rose" playing on Sabrina reminded me of French Kiss which also featured that piece of music.

It is so refreshing to watch this beautiful film in a time of insanity in 2024.
This is my first Audrey Hepburn movie, and I'm already admiring how she carried herself with such elegance. The story was so smooth, it's a shame they no longer make movies like these.
Watch Audrey Hepburn in "Roman Holiday" and "My Fair Lady." Exquisite!
Try watching Funny Face. It is my favorite of hers.
@@hollydoshier7697 My Fair Lady and Sabrina are my favorite Audrey Hepburn movies.
One has to give the writers credit who wrote with such feelings as if they put themselves in the story. Please check out "Roman Holiday with Audrey Hepburn and Gregory Peck who was terrific in this role. Gregory Peck always wanted a chance in a comedic role, but he claimed Cary Grant got them first. Luckily, he refused the part that Gregory Peck got in this movie, It worked well for everyone and the reason why Audrey Hepburn got an Oscar who was perfect Roman Holiday. love it.

Audrey Hepburn was a beautiful soul. Never was a harsh or mean word spoken of her, which is unusual in her profession. She will always be remembered as a gracious beautiful woman with a big loving heart.
When she won the Oscar for "Roman Holiday" someone made a lieu remark over her simple dress and as we all know she was elegant in simple style of dresses making her the perfect model for great stylists of the fashion stars of yesterdays.
The century out of a hat line was hilarious 😂

@@RetrospectiveMovies To be honest, I have an almost complete collection of Audrey films, but I like to find something rare. . and your channel is very good
This is also the movie that forever placed Audrey in the Hearts of Americans and the World and certainly adorned her as one of many World Class Actors, Thank you
absolutely. Givenchy dressed her in this one I think. Pure elegance
And she wasn't a bad actress , either, and especially good in Roman Holiday.
Audrey had a voice and way of speaking (perhaps that blend of Dutch and English) that is totally unique and never to be duplicated. A one of a kind a woman, actress and star.
Listen to her flawless French. So elegant.
Listen to actress Thomasin McKenzie. Her voice sounds remarkably like Audrey's.
The reason she is elegant is because she is elegant. Unlike how women want to be seen nowadays.
You can watch this movie over and over again over many decades as I have because everything about it is flawless. Obviously Audrey Hepburn is perfection personified, dreamily gorgeous, a brilliant actress with intellect, astonishingly beautifully gowned and made up, her diction is exquisite and she just oozes class and dignity like no one else. But Humphrey Bogart and William Holden are also both exceptionally on point, both of them miles out of their usual genres, their characterisations and timing are superb. John Williams as Audrey’s father is one of my favourite actors, of course he’d produce a daughter like her, he’s so marvellous himself. And there are no small parts, the casting of every single actor who appears is impeccable. And there’s the absolutely cracking, inventive, multi-layered script, that’s why you never tire of it, it contains brilliantly hidden jokes and observations, and every character from the Larrabee parents to Miss McArdle has a backstory you get glimpses of. The work that went into the writing is breathtaking. All, of course, brilliantly put together and handled by a master director, one of the greatest film-makers of all time, with the most intense care yet the lightest touch. I almost cry each time I see Sabrina: it recedes further and further back in time as we sail on from that golden age in which these greats lived and worked. We will never again return to that time. Those days are gone forever.
Gone forever. The world of three years ago is also gone. People don't realise it yet.
Dang, man. Glowing review
They were all miserable in production, Bogart wanted Bacall, Hepburn had to do take after take...he felt awkward playing against type..., feeling his age...he would be dead just a few years later....it was from a long running play....maybe all the unhappiness on set made for a great film
flawless? who would buy Audrey Hepburn falling for someone looking like her grumpy old man? Breakfast at Tiffanys may not be flawless but at least she had a leading man who wasn't twice her age.
I have to say, your review alone could sell tickets. I've never read a more inspiring, educated, and moving review as you have written. Your words ooze substance, character and class. Thanks for sharing this amazing insight.

What a pleasure to hear the speaking voices of the women and men in this movie -- a treat to the ear: mellifluous, clear, mature, pleasant, and with zero annoying vocal fry.
Audrey Hepburn was a member of the Dutch resistance against the Nazis during World War II and she spoke half a dozen languages with fluency.

They were very amateurish attempts, but nevertheless at the time, when there was very little entertainment, it amused people and gave them an opportunity to get together and spend a pleasant afternoon listening to music and seeing my humble attempts. The greatest. Such talent Such beauty
A truly wonderful movie. 💖
This is my favourite Audrey Hepburn film of all time.
I was born 2 years after this movie was made, and I first saw it on TV in the 60s. I was too young to have any interest in girls, (yuck!) but I instantly fell in love with her. And I never noticed how goofy I acted whenever I saw her...
Almost 70, and I'm still "in love" with her, as much as a person can love an image... but I've only recently noticed how petite she was. Such a tiny little body, but having the most beautiful and large eyes, and a heart to match...
I can't think of anyone whose charm and class could ever compare. She was truly one of a kind. "Kissed by God.." as Mr. Wilder said. She brought so much joy and beauty to this rough and raggedy world.
May she rest in peace.
I still yet to see anyone as beautiful and classy as Audrey Hepburn. I love her Roman Holidays and My Fair Lady, two of my favorite movies.
I agree.
There were a lot of beautiful and classy actresses before Audrey Hepburn. The remake 9f Sabrina was just as good.

I grew up on the North Shore of Long Island where this film was shot and lived on Dosoris Lane! Very fortunate to grow up in such an environment and never took it for granted. Audrey Hepburn was always in a class of her own: elegant, chic and the epitome of class! Truly a role model! Elegance never goes out of style!
She also has a good heart. She was the UNICEF ambassador to Ethiopia. She reminds me of Princess Diana. They both advocate for third world children.

I could really sense Audrey's natural warmth in the scene where she is reunited with her father's coworker's at 38:40. So very touching and it transcends acting. She is one of the "North Stars" in my life, my inspiration to be good and do good in this world
I really liked that moment where Linus kisses Sabrina for the first time on the tennis court, the look on Sabrina's face.

They kept sticking the poor girl, Audrey, with guys old enough to be her grandfather. It wohld be SO much more relatable if they had given her a good looking young guy. But she did a great job anyway, although I bet it was a drag. She was so lovely!
At least in "Breakfast at Tiffany's" they paired her with George Peppard, a handsome and cute looking guy and they we're almost the same age(Peppard was only 1 year older than her)
I really think she had the best chemistry with him in all of her movies, although, ironically they did not get along well with each other.

It is interesting how suicide is depicted in the film, both Sabrina and Linus were plunged into depression to the point they wanted to put an end to their lives. Perhaps that's what makes them feel more in tune with each other, as both are profoundly sentimental

Great film!!! it reminds me of my young years - In 1954 I was a 19-year old--- It's a real pleasure to see it again. By the way I can read French, but my understanding of spoken French is lousy. So much so that I had to record 30 secs in the ending of the film, I sent it to my son-in-law who is in Quebec asking him what that French sentence was: he whatsapped to me "Il y a dans le bateau un monsieur qui voudrait bien que vous l'arrangiez son chapeau" - ha! so it was "There is in the ship a gentleman who would wish you to fix his hat" - - - - Greetings from Lima, Peru
I have most of Audrey's films... This is the first time I'm watching Sabrina... A truly remarkable actress godsent... She died when I was 6 years old ... But I've grown up watching all of her films and she has been an inspiration to me. Thank you Audrey ❤️ for everything 💕
So much to enjoy in this movie. The acting. The dialog full of sparkling wit. The fashions. The cars. The music. Audrey Hepburn is radiant. William Holden nails the part of the playboy son. And, Humphrey Bogart plays his part too in a subtle, layered, nuanced performance that's poignant as, in the romance department, in particular, he is quite aware that he is now and apparently always has been in the shadow of his charismatic brother. This is exemplified when he is trying to romance Sabrina and refers to himself as "Joe College with arthritis."
I didn't catch that, about Linus feeling 'inferior' in that way. Now i understand the plot better 👍
Adore this film. I have the DVD but it's getting worn thin because the number of times I play it..Nobody but nobody can replace Audrey Hepburn. What style!
Givenchy provided the clothes but Edith Head took the credit and the Oscar. Never mind, Hepburn and Givenchy began a lifelong friendship and colaboration.Worth infinitely more than a little meta statue.
She was his muse. Givenchy was brilliant
What sort of character was Edith Head, that sounds like a not nice way to behave ... taking credit for someone else's work... not GODLY BEHAVIOUR... did she do that sort of thing often? CJ x
Givenchy hmmmm we will check
Edith Head was real power in Hollywood and was the wardrobe specialist for so many movies. She worked with so many big names in clothing, experts in wardrobe accuracy, and what was the desired impact of each actor/actress in the production.

This must be one of the most charming movies I've ever seen, mostly thanks tp Audrey Hepburn. No one can have what Audrey had, she had IT, the aggresively natural starpower so many young actors attempt to gain, and some do, but she has it in spades.

Sabrina is stored in my memory bank. In 1954 I passed my SSC examination and sought admission in a Mumbai college.Made me nostalgic. Glory days of my early college years.

I am glad for that. Old male actors held on playing roles way too young for them into their sixties. Most women actresses were considered washed up at 35.

The first time I watched Sanrina I was just a teen, from then on I had a huge crash on Humphry Bogart and I was completely in awe! Audrey Hepburn. She was everything, I cannot even explain it. A terrific actor and everything about her is like looking at royalty more than royalty like a Goddess
These are the real classic movies. So subtle at the same time very touchy.

That's the first time that see the original version of this story. I really liked it! There is certain details that I prefer in the modern version like her father and the job she learned in Paris, but all in all, I'm really fond of this original version and there is a lot of comical relief in it too. These 2 films are really flawless
Humphrey Bogart was wonderful in this movie, with outstanding comic timing, but also a real intensity that show.s the depth of his feelings. I guess it is no wonder Lauren Bacall went crazy over him.
Audrey was irreplaceably well cast, but the magic can be attributed also to the script by Lehman, Taylor and Wilder.
WHAT A BEAUTIFUL MOVIE. HAVE ALWAYS LOVED IT AND NOW I CAN WATCH IT ANYTIME, THANKS TO RETROSPECTIVE. YAY !!!!
Thank you Jeni! Glad you enjoyed it! We also have "Charade" with Audrey Hepburn and Cary Grant on our channel: czcams.com/video/BJ_njww9SOQ/video.html
Wonderful movie! I also like the newer version with Harrison Ford but this one is my favorite. The music 🎶 is amazing! Audrey is lovely as usual. My dog’s nickname is Audrey Hepburn. She has a long neck, very long legs and high cheekbones. When she wears her pearls she looks just like Audrey 😂
Light and airy theme. Sabrina is charming in her naiveness. Casting for the remake also great.
I've never seen this movie before. I've heard about it for years but it was because I just wasn't a fan of Hepburn's so I never watched it but I have completely changed my mind. What a fantastic movie. I've Always loved Bogart and Holden but now I can honestly say I'm a Hepburn fan. What a classic!
Welcome to 1st class
I love all of her films. She was the epidomy of grace and class. An age long gone that today's actors and artists could learn from.
I agree, she was a class act and all her movies kept your attention...there was an air of glamor and gratefulness about her that was effortless.
That should have been gracefulness
And that a lot of men and women that are not actors could learn from.

I miss old movies like this. Thank you for allowing us to view it. Hope there are many more on your shelves!
I do too. I love the way they dressed. Especially Audrey, Katherine Hepburn, grace kelly and Elizabeth Taylor. Anne Hathaway is one of the closest to a modern Audrey.
There are some good stars today but I love the way the past movies transport you.
A true gem of a film. Great dialogue, fantastic filming but more so, high class acting
What beats the new movies is they didn't have to use obscene words, violence and nudity to make this film be loved by so many in world of ours. So much for the PG rating which produced great movies of that time and worth seeing again and again.
I have this DVD already gone through two other DVDs Love it its so romantic Bogey is the Best
Audrey Hepburn brings me to this movie. Owhh..how I love this movie.. Not only it's romantic but I love its humours lines.
I chuckle every time Mr Bogart says “It’s all in the family..” before making his move on Sabrina… 😂
I wasn't nor do I think my own mother was alive when this came out but it surly has placed an impressionable mark on my love for black and white films. Always heard how much Hepburn was loved I truly see her amazing energy, passion, her poise and fashion. DEFFIENTLY in a league of her own.
Watch Audrey Hepburn's film "Roman Holiday" with Gregory Peck. It is a lovely film.
