@@GetEmEdd because Rahman is significantly heavier than Jake is. So they put that in so he doesn't die cutting weight. He could come into the fight at 215 which would be alot heavier. So it's for Rahmans same which is baffling why Rahman even brought that up. Like it's for his benefit idk why he's complaining about it.

I love it fellas I was hoping you guys would give thoughts on this fight. What I see lacking from Jake is his conditioning, too much clinching and thats a conditioning issue, and something that you see when a fighter lacks the experience on finding that range and staying in the pocket. I know he's working on that in training, but he has translate it in the actual fight if he wants to keep climbing the ranks.

In terms of just pure skill I'd say this is a huge step down from Tommy Fury. Rahman is not explosive at all, has slow feet, constantly gets off balance, and just allows his opponents to come into his range. In some ways I just see Rahman as a big Tyron Woodley tbh.

I want Jake to win, but I just saw the TMZ interview with Rahman. Jake is making RAHMAN sign an unfair weight cut and rehydration clause. Jake is making Rahman go down to 205. Every lb over Jake taking 25% of his purse. The contract makes the odds of winning against Rahman. He will need to spend his entire training camp cutting weight. Disappointed in Jake.

Nope the NY state athletic commission said rahman had to weigh in at 200lbs and can go up to 215 at 12 in the morning at Saturday for this fight to get sectioned. Then he can weigh as much as he wants at the fight night

@@grevengriff8609 that’s because that’s what the athletic commission is approving. The contract is still the contract. If he wants to lose tons of money off the check he can do what the commission approved. But the contract still remains.
I love this PodCast and these greats thoughts and views. They really dig deep into the fight and outside the ring and also help us all understand the landscapd of boxing where it was and where it's going.

I'm impressed with Jake Paul. The fact he went from CZcams to beating Tyron Woodley twice after only three Profesional fights and now he's facing a real boxer with a fairly decent record of 12-1. He's progressing fast and I think he deserves credit for sure.

he was a pro and champ and all his losses are to legends BUT nevertheless, Conor did GOOD against floyd (that man McGregor used to be a TALENT SPECIMEN) - like all us boxing fans know he was going to lose and knew that Flloyd was going to let it ride a bit to drain some energy- but no matter how we spin it, Conor got those first 4 rounds lol, and yes mayweather was on his defense - but as the greatest defensive boxer ever (in my opinion) he got snagged good a few times lol - like I I DONT CARE WHAT ANYONE SAYS, he did NOT want to get hit with those two beautiful hard upper cuts, and those really nice left hands - the one 3 overhand down the pipe and the hook ….. Like I knew that man was losing EVEN after the first 3 rounds (though after 4 i started to question my sanity just for a split second), but still I was like Mayweather is going to wait until he sees blood aka a winded man and start going to town on him like he did ….. but for someone who was ACTUALLY playing defense with his philly roll and all, Conor was faster than any of us thought (at least me) and i watch the UFC the same as boxing (but its one thing to be fast against those men compared to real time pros)

With the logic Roy used, all the up and coming no name Boxers might as well quit and let celebrities and public figures have the sport. It’s not easy to grow your social media presence without promoting ignorance and negativity ( just look at his juvenile fanbase before Boxing). It’s just a circus spectacle what he’s doing. One thing he has done right though, is promoting Serrano and getting her paid.
I agree. Personally I think Roy's logic is accurate but flawed when it comes to focusing conversation on the gloves, not instagram followers. , as it focuses on all other aspects outside of boxing (money, followers, etc.) Instead of the sport itself. I know money and followers Play a role, but too much rhetoric on that and not enough on the skill of boxing as center piece of conversation. Didn't like his beginning take on it at all.

I love hearing these three guys three former champs give honest opinions and critique, I kind of do lean with tarver on this one through, the hydration clause coming in on late notice without a full camp and as I seen the record and seen the name I said this will be the one that stops jake Paul but after pulling up the footage of watching hassim fight, I think jake's going to beat this dude I may be wrong but the fights that I watched haseem was definitely not in shape he drops his hands way way too much and say what you will jake has a super powerful right hand but I am eager to see how this goes

Being honest, Rahman Jr is going to lose because he's way too slow and not aggressive enough. He's a very passive fighter. Looked back and watched his fights, Jake will win for sure in my estimation.
I got Rahman Jr winning he is bigger and stronger and in this case will benefit especially in press conference and how Jake added all these clauses that Rahman Jr cannot not come over 10 pounds after fight weight in and every pound he goes over weight on fight night Rahman will lose money. To me it just means Jake Paul is worried enough for him to do something like that. I will give him his respect if he wins this fight but I see him losing especially trying to handicap or put limits on The fight.

Rahman still has more experience in fighting pro level boxing and will definitely be a test to Jake Paul and that’s why I still give edge to Rahman jr.

Don't look at his record, look at the records of his opponents and then watch his fighting style in the actual fights. Actually, if I was younger and had somewhere to train I would put myself back in a training camp and get in shape just to fight him myself. Paulie hijacked the conversation, I wanted to hear more from Roy. One of Rahman's issues is the lack of initiative. He was on his back foot last fight, hands down and rarely tried to put decent punches together of show anything special. Jake may be overconfident after sparring where Rahman may have held back, but how can you tell when he looks like he isn't doing shit in real fights. I could see Jake catching him with a right hand and getting him in trouble, but also can't really dismiss Rahman's experience, he could possible move to a decision or maybe try to put more combos together. I think Jake has more of a real fighter's mentality than Rahman which is strange to say because his pops was a champion and he was raised into fighting. We'll find out, should be a fascinating fight.

Before I even listen to the video, Rahman is NOT a real test. The fight with him against Morrison was pretty bad. Rahman didn’t appear to have any real power at all.

He had been getting better every time, he has been upping his competition, he's taking this seriously and he's marketing it successfully. He's fighting better competition incrementally just as any regular real boxer would. Even some great boxers who had had great amateur or Olympic careers came in their pro debut fighting deliberately chosen bums... its normal. So really Jake is doing something normal, but it's his sucessful marketing that just makes abnormal for an early career. Again his selection in fighters is always just outside of his personal skill level or what us the outsider expects of him, so it's very fair.

Paulie is such a great boxing analyst but anytime he changes lanes or steers into a lane talking about himself I want to stick a screwdriver in my ears. He immediately becomes annoying AF.

Jake isn’t helping the image of boxing, and that’s more important if you want a successful organization. He’s exposing the sport in a way that helps temporary shock culture and awareness of the sport of boxing, but by no means is he helping the sport by calling himself a champ and a “professional” carrying a Nickelodeon belt. It’s theatre now and that’s not boxing. Sorry if that’s an unpopular opinion, but as long as jokes like Triller are representing boxing, it’s not going anywhere. It will end up turning away people that take this sport seriously. Right now, boxing is a social media playground with a paycheck and Instagram likes involved.
The Paul brothers have done more to expose boxing to the general public then anyone in the last 20+ years.

Proffesional boxing/prize fighting has been theater and spectacle for a long time. It's sports entertainment.
Paul is occupying a space that we haven't seen. Too proffesional to be a celebrity boxer and too celebrity to be a professional(traditional) boxer, for lack of a better term. Seems to be fully committed. Immersed as a professional boxer.
I think overall his involvement is only good for boxing. He isn't detracting from anyone but has kind of built his own lane. His product is slightly different but close enough to the real thing that it has appeal for both ends of the boxing spectrum.
