Now since fight is over these men did a great analysis on the fight. We forget that Canelo was stepping up to weight class against an undefeated fighter. Bivol after the fight looks like he was hardly touched.
Stepping up? He had a wwe belt at 175. His frame was just fine for 175, styles make fights. Thats what happened.
Bivol is a way way tougher fight than benavidez or charlo,he's a terrible matchup for canelo..

Roy is more nuanced than that. His analysis is not as Black or White. Listen to him again. His commentary is a bit subtle and sophisticated.
If and when Bud and Spence fight, I believe his words will make more sense...

Canelo is going to murder Charlo....
Benavidez just have better size, heart and intensity. But he doesn't have skills or one punch power to discourage Canelo. So, believe me, Canelo is not worried about them.

Bivol has a longer reach, better jab, quicker feet and better boxing IQ. He is the better Boxer and is amazing at judging distance; he is constantly in and out, and he can fight to go backwards, central as well as going forward.
Canelo has never been known to have quick feet and yet he is the one who is supposed to have that in order to go in and out, constantly in order to close the distance and attack that body. Bivol won't remain central, Bivol will be in and out and pop that long hard and quick jab, constantly with the one-twos. Personally, I dont know how Canelo is going to get inside without having quicker feet. Even if he catches Bivol, he won't have the feet to get out of range quickly. It is not like AJ versus Ruiz's fight where AJ remained stationary against Ruiz. Bivol will use his feet and reach constantly. Canelo has no option but to just walk him down but I dont see Canelo troubling Bivol that way either. I really don't. Personally, I know that Canelo won't be the puncher in this fight either unless you're an idiot who assumes Canelo will be the one with the damaging punches. This isn't 154, it isn't even 168. Bivol is naturally a big puncher in his own division. Just compare their bone structures. I will say this though, Canelo has bullocks getting in the ring with Bivol regardless of whatever you think. Kudos to Canelo. I just want to see a great fight and this is that great fight. What a fighter Canelo is. He is a fighter through and through and without Canelo, this fight would not have been made. He could have chosen an easier fight but he stuck tow-fingers to that. Canelo has my respect.

Its not gonna be easy for Canelo but Bivol is not the better boxer of them two. And Canelo will most likely hit Bivol in the body as what his sparring partners said (Benavidez and the other guy) he is easy to get hit in the body and we know when canelo hits.
@@cryptoopinion13 I wouldn't say Bivol is the better boxer but as RJJ breaks it down, he IS the better outside boxer while Canelo is the better inside boxer. I agree with the OP though that it aint as easy as ppl suggest for Canelo to make this his fight.. Bivol has the tools and physical geography to keep this on the outside - just by merely being the natural 175'er.. I also tip my hat off to Canelo for taking this fight, but I have money on Bivol, imo a 50/50 coin toss that pays out 5/1.

To me the mid-range is goin to decide the fight. If Bivol has success with his combinations and being an aggressive counter puncher he'll keep Canelo at bay. If Canelo can counter and keep his pressure on Bivol make a mistake that's his way to a win. I don't see knockout or knockdown by either.

Yeah. The obvious answer here is that Canelo has his sight on Legacy. He wants to be undisputed at another weight division. I don't think anyone has done that. What did Charlo and Benavidez have to offer? Nothing but tough fights. They are not legacy fights. Bivol sets Canelo up for that clash with the winner of Beterbiev or Smith Jr. For me it's obvious.

I only clicked on the video cause I did a double-take seeing Jones Jr and Tarver sitting at the same table having a discussion.
They have history since the amateurs coming up in Florida. Roy became p4p #1 in the sport, eventually they came full circle and Tarver put an end to it.

At mi 2:30 The commentator says that he doesn't see Canelo pick up the pase or fight at a fast pace. My take on that is that an experienced boxer is constantly looking for weaknesses or possible counter attacks or positional traps. You can't go insane at a fast pace, and not expect to get knocked down.
