I'm in the middle of making a tutorial series on recording electric guitar for www.theproaudiofiles.com In this series I'm researching all the finite details that make great guitar tone. This led me to study the tone of capos.
I've mainly chosen capos for their ability to keep a guitar in tune in the past. Now, it occurs to me that tone is an issue. Luckily, the capo that functions the best also sounds the best to my ears. Which one? The Thalia is my favorite.
The Thalia has the best intonation. I also like the clear open tone it creates. It doesn't choke the guitar. I have found this true when using the Thalia capo on acoustic and electric guitar.
