So go ahead and tell me about these "responsible gun owners" with stray ammunition and forgotten firearms in their luggage.
They have too many and too much of each, as NONE of it is covered by the 2nd Amendment unless they have some muskets...
Not to mention….Hunting is murder
@@inthewoodshed9611 lol MOFO go learn the difference between hunting and murdering
@@TheCommunicationCoach
??? What in the world makes you think the 2nd amendment doesn't cover his fire arms or bullets?
They literally allowed civilians to own cannons in America.
“Thoughts & prayers”
Life is tough, even when you refuse to take responsibility for your own actions.
If you can't keep track of your ammo before boarding TWO separate airplanes, I wonder if you are capable of tracking it at home where your toddler crawls around.
It's unfortunate, but if we expect foreigners to abide by our laws, and face the penalty for breaking them, then we to must accept the same conditions when traveling to another country.
12 years is excessive to us, but they don't want people taking bullets into their country, so they obviously hoped a 12 year sentence would stop someone from trying it.
I think this story will make more travelers double check their bags if they are gun owners.
Ignorance of the law is not a defense, so they say.
The thoughtlessness of the passenger in not checking his baggage was not only his fault but TSA's, as they admitted when they said they missed it. One should abide by foreign countries' laws, yes, but like so much in life, there exists a double-edged sword, as existence is so much more complex than we would like it to be. The irony here is that the twelve years is excessive for such a minor infraction, and that the prosecuting country/territory must pay for that person (assuming they don't pay bail and all extenuating charges) to remain there, thus making them a little poorer (after all, the person's home country would never pay for one of their citizens for committing crimes on land they don't own or control). When enough laws are excessive such as this, citizens from various parts of the world tend to boycott such an unfair nation by simply not visiting it, thus harming that nation's economy all the more. Gun owners should be more responsible if they use their carry-on bags for multiple purposes, which is on them. As for that old saying, ''ignorance of the law is not a defense for not knowing the law'' is from Leviathan by Thomas Hobbes from 1651, written at a time when there was a very high percentage of illiteracy and overall lack of education in England and most countries, where most countries didn't have free public schooling to educate their citizenry. Many countries have tens of thousands of laws, and no one knows them all by heart, not even lawyers (one of the dirty truths about lawyers is that they actually research laws they're unfamiliar with, or to remember the details about it ((see ''The Terrible Truth About Lawyers: How Lawyers Really Work and How to Deal With Them Successfully by Mark H. McCormack)). When a person takes the attitude that they should know every single law, it's the State's fault for failing to educate their citizenry on each and every one of those laws, inside and out, as no one of us is taught anywhere near enough on every single law in existence (as, to be fair, we must count every other country and territory). Therefore that line is one for an authoritarian or dictatorship, one who designs to control their citizenry, and not to be fair to them.
Foreigners do NOT abide by American laws when they're in America. What are you talking about?
12 years is in fact a reasonable amount of time. They keep saying there should be grace. Why. They broke the law.
@@heathersmith6416 If twelve years is a reasonable time, then, as I said before, the individual citizen has the right to choose whether to visit another country/territory or not based on whether they as the individual agree with their laws--not visiting can be an act of protest when there are so many places to choose from, after all. Since you only said ''12 years is in fact a reasonable amount of time'' without quoting anything, I'll reasonably assume that is your individual belief, and not a particular State's law.
@@isolinear9836It's the particular State's choice on whether or not to prosecute said foreigners. If they fail to prosecute criminals, then one can legitimately ask: what is wrong with this particular State. That is what I'm talking about.
Damn Check your luggage before traveling to Gun free countries. Smuggling Bullets into a Gun free countries has consequences.
Why would he have bullets with him on a cruise ship? There is definitely more to this story.
He's white. He believes that he can do whatever he wants.
There is not always more to a story.
Can't vote for Trump from there...

It’s ok my Hispanic friends will make sure to vote hard R in November for this man

What was it they said about Brittany Griner and her hash pen? You broke their laws, do your time.
Calm down, botnik
@@paxamericanafilms Are your feelings hurt?
Avoiding personal responsibilities. Typical of them.
People always say that sentences are excessive until it's a fifth of your life gone for bringing two bullets in a country?
Its scary that tsa is getting so sloppy
It sounds like these men are an example of small rural-town privilege. What your daddy could help you get away there, with won't work anywhere else. Try that in a foreign town.
Don’t break the laws of the country you are in.

I 100% agree with you but this is extremely excessive. Don’t act like he’s a bad guy
@@woop6078 if you live there, do something about it if it's a problem. If you dont live there then what right do you have to tell others how to live. You are a guest in their country, follow their rules, if you think they are ridiculous, dont go there.

IF America had these same laws, these incidents wouldn’t occur. I’ve hunted, I’ve gone shooting, NEVER have I ever lost track of bullets, or shell casings, that I shot.🤷🏼♂️ If you “do this all the time”, then YOU better keep better track of your firearms snd ammo. It isn’t asking too much.
It is illegal to wear clothing with a camouflage print in Barbados. It is a jailing offense.
Got to know and pay attention when in another country.
Only Americans think they deserve to be treated differently in foreign countries. Whatever happened to personal responsibility?
Way to generalize. No, not all Americans think this way. Probably the MAJORITY don't think this way.

This is what happens when we take things for granted.
This is what happens when a gun culture becomes normalized.
Foolish human.
Responsible people make responsible decisions! That is a serious lapse in judgment!
Anytime you cross a border. You should be very aware of your inventory.
Anyone else realise the wife does not seem worried, that in fact it looks like she has a smile on her face when speaking about it and she has a high expression in the tone of voice, like she is relieved.
Guess who hid the bullets in his suitcase
I'm guessing he's been insufferable for years, like the rest of people lazy with responsibility.
Not calling this Projection would be a crime 🤡🤡🤡

Good thing he didn't put his gun their accidentally to feel safe.
What was he doing with bullets in a backpack?

From a previous hunting trip to Texas.
What does that tell you if you couldn't detect 4 rounds possibly?
It's good to hear the wife acknowledge the importance of the laws. In another interview/coverage of this story I saw 2 days ago, she was blaming TSA.
what a fool
What about the lax gun laws here at home and in America?! Maybe fix the tsa while you're at it?!
Ridiculously excessive. The U.S. should deploy troops.
American facing the laws of a country he didn’t think much of,then acting like we are all in it with him.
There should be signs at airport international departure gates saying "American privileges ends here"!
Don't ever compare laws from our country to another country. That's their way and that's it!
Billy, have you ever been in a Turkish prison?
Ok thats a excessive sentence however why would he have Bullets ?
What’s the surprise ? Different countries, different cultures, obviously.. different laws.
How completely idiotic to be so careless and reckless. This is a huge reason why gun controls are necessary here, there are too many careless and lazy gun owners who think they need huge armaments that ARE NOT included in the 2nd Amendment, and if anyone argues otherwise, then they can't read one sentence or comprehend what it says.
Shut your mouth liberal pu$$y
when we go to any other country and we do somthing wrong we get lock up and deported we have to abide by your rule so abid by other county rules.. how did TSA let that slip tho? thats the big question
umm she doesn't seem so emotional, smiling and laughing I didn't see any tears
Every time i travel i check my laguage twice to make SURE i am not taking anything "illegal" aboroad. When you are outside us different laws.
They have no guns and almost no violence there and they want to keep it that way.
Another "responsible" gun owner (it's an oxymoron)! Entitled and ignorant of other's laws and culture carries a heavy price. Should be held as an example to others. You packed your bags you bare responsibility. Feel sorry for you but, it's on you.
honest mistake that no one else makes be accountable
In ANY country with any modicum of Gun control, you are GOING TO JAIL for a fairly long period if you bring in a firearm OR even AMMUNITION. That is how sovereignty works. Sovereign nations make their own laws. Most are not countries where the leading cause of child death, is FIREARMS.
If he was travelling to a country with similar gun laws... and there are NOT too many, but, if I recall correctly, Serbia has very liberal gun laws, as does San Marino (though Italy does NOT and you have to go through that country to enter San Marino), and I believe East Timor is a rather unique anomaly in so much as it has among the most liberal gun laws in the world, ranks in the top 5 on rightwing gun freedom index BS lists, but also ranks as third LOWEST gun ownership in the world despite this, well this might not happen. So, you know, like.... if you want, maybe you can, as red blooded American Ammosexual, go to one of those places, if you cannot keep track of your firearm related chattel? Anywhere else.... you are going to learn the hard way, how anomalous the US is re guns culture, when you wind up....well.... this, just like this, is how you wind up.
American ethnocentrism leads so many American tourists to just NOT UNDERSTAND, that most places in the world have all kinds of laws MUCH different to the United States, and all too many take an entitled position of American Exceptionalism when they are forced to come to understanding when their ignorance bites them.
More proof how careless gun owners are
TSA should have caught it before he even got on the plane.
Legal here doesn't mean legal in other countries. And calling Laws in other countries "absurd" ain't helping scoring Kudo Points.... just saying
The same would happen if you brought bullets to Bermuda. So check before you come here. We don't allow guns here and guess what? We don't have a huge amount of gun deaths.
Know before you go!
The real story is that those bullets made it through tsa..

Other countries have different laws, and expect me to comply to them? What a surprise /s

This is beyond ridiculous.
It is. When someone from another country gets caught breaking the law here in the USA, 'Muricans like to say" Ignorance is no excuse! Do the crime, do the time!"
I wonder why the laws are so harsh. I hope they get out of this problem. How terrible.
I feel bad for this one cuz of only 2 bullets. The other guy had 3 cartridges, I think. In other news, Singapore will cane you at least 20 times if you spit gum on the ground.
