Akio Toyoda is the conceptual father of the GR Yaris as it was his idea to develop and produce it back in 2015. Much respect to him!

The best new features in the MK2 are the addition of extra cooling and the strengthening of the pistons. However, the front bumper design was much nicer on the MK1.

The GR Yaris IS offered in North America, you forgot about Mexico? 🤷♂️. I'm from Los Angeles and my buddy has one here. He bought it in a Tijuana Mexico, where his father lives and just lives here in Southern California. Thumbs up galore when we're in it.

The GR Yaris is the only car I care to own. Sadly it is not in North America, as I understand, due to regulatory issues.
The reason we don’t get it is because we don’t buy the regular Yaris. This is our punishment for not supporting small affordable cars.

What a surprise! Mr Toyoda himself! I wish you get an interview with him . Here is what i want : a new toyota yaris made in Japan with the same 1.5 l gas engine and a 5 speed classic automatic transmission(not cvt )
A Corolla with a classic 6 speed automatic transmission not a cvt
A wagon version of camry or Corolla . that is a fuel efficient car to carry stuff that is not a gas guzzling suv . David...i think Mr Toyoda watches your youtube channel . Mr Toyoda : we need more entry level affordable models like the yaris and corolla but not with cvt transmissions....classic automatic and even manual transmissions

USA needs the LC300 and the gr Yaris and we’d officially have the best lineup Toyota has to offer.
I did see where on Toyotas account they posted the most recent LC300 photo and someone commented “when are we getting the LC in the US?” And they said to follow the page for announcements. I have high doubts but could this be a sign? Or did the account manger just mess up?
That automatic will make perfect daily car for me.
I owned the old model and the manual didn't like to be rushed. So I'm buying this new one in auto.

Had my GR Yaris for over 2 years now and am debating to swap for the new auto transmission version.
The refinements make it even better, especially for daily driving.

The GR Corolla and Yaris are the kind of cars that take me back to being a high school kid in the early and mid 2000s when my friendslhad fast Subarus, Celicas, Hondas, and the rest. I would like to get a GR Corolla, especially with the new transmission coming soon making it better for daily driving, which is my only use for the car, but the size construction of having young kids, and my fears of the reliability and durability given the output from an engine so small and so boosted makes me reluctant to even try to test drive one. I might like it too much and make a stupid and expensive decision.

Exterior is superb but the interior is a little bit of a step backward. Yes, we will eventually get it ... after 15 years. Adding an auto transaxle isn’t necessary bad thing, by considering its only less than 20kg heavier, but probably faster when it’s driven by an average person.
The interior is obviously inspired by old group b rally cars. I love the retro look, much better than the old car.
As a GRY owner I think the new Dash is horrible!! I don't care for the grille or AT either ,but I do like the oil cooler addition. I wonder if the car is still "hand made"? Was there any mention of price and how that compared to the original?
Would be good if Toyota offered a set of fix buckets as an option.
