This scene explains perfectly why I think Catherine Bell is an underrated actress. Here she is this tough marine but yet in this scene there is such a silent vulnerability about her. She knows about Harm wanting to go back to flight status and Chloe has just left. Just a great scene.
I agree, I remember that episode. You could see in Mac's eyes that she really wants to have this dream come true. But you can also see the reservation on her face that says " I 'll believe it when it happens. MAC has not had a good track record with men. Her self esteem is lacking
@@leslieramee5104 It's easy to see why her self-esteem is lacking. Her father was an alcoholic. Her mother abandoned her. She was used to being put down. I really enjoy this show. It was one my mom & I watched on occasion. She passed away last March, so it's coming up on a year. In fact, I was finishing watching it for probably the 12th time when she went. Other shows we enjoyed were: Home Improvement, Wings, MacGyver, The Wonder Years, Walker, Texas Ranger, Magnum, P.I.(original), The Fall Guy, & A-Team.
Yep. So hard watching this clip now 22 years since it aired now knowing their fate after watching the NCIS: LA episodes. Both the characters and the fans deserved a better fate for Harm and Mac.
I so wish this had come true! Instead we got an episode of Mac reflecting on this moment while at her therapist office; showing up unannounced without an appointment at end of day forcing the doctor/councilor who was on her way out the door to stay late afterhours and miss her child's performance so Mac could get some sleeping pills from her. :/

Time and again he has told Mac come to me and we will talk. Mac responds, but why? Harm with his pet answer "you know why" Mac wants and needs to hear "Mac I love you ". Something inside of Harm will not let him say the words. So Mac turns to other men, who will tell her how they feel! Harm gets jealous and ticked off. How could you? Mac basically said if you don't want me, there others who do. My opinion "put up or shut up "!

Mac was straight up with what she wanted, leaving the proverbial door open for him on multiple occasions, but Harm was too chicken every time to make a move to admit his feelings. He always hesitated, like he was afraid to make it real. The scene on the carrier was the perfect moment as he had already broken up with Rene weeks before and still didn't tell Mac even though she literally just asked him if he'd be willing to leave her. She found out from Sturgis an episode or two after. How pathetic is that.
If Harmon Rabb,Jr found out that Annie,a Navy Widow of a friend of Harm's who was also a Naval Aviator,had gotten pregnant while they were dating and that she had no intention of telling him that she had his child,or children if it had been twins,identical or not,because she dumped Harm for turning her son Josh against her,which he didn't mean to,what would Harm do about it and would Mac help him through that situation? He treated the boy as if he were his own son.
Seriously. All it would have took was one part drunken / part emotionally weakened romp and then let the story play out from there about the consequences of their behavior. They didn't actually have to be in an intimate relationship or married for an unprotected one night stand to happen. Mac might have stayed at JAG in DC while Harm got sent to a carrier, etc.

She is underrated, I started watching the series again, she makes subtle expressions and inflections that add authenticity to the scenes.
