- Black women have historically been the most loyal when it comes to interracial relationships, with only 3 percent married to white men in 1980. But times are changing - today that number has quadrupled to 12 percent. “REVOLT Black News” explores the reasons behind this trend, from the education gap between Black women and men, to shifting views on interracial relationships. We examine the social stigma these couples still face and the dark history behind Black women and white men. Plus, some advice for Black women thinking of exploring love outside of their race. Join us as we dive deep into this complex issue.
Inspired by Sean “Diddy” Combs’ successful “State Of Emergency: The State of Black America & Coronavirus” town hall, “REVOLT BLACK NEWS” is a platform that is designed to report news from the perspective of Black people for Black people.

Im from the UK, my mum is black from Barbados and my dad is white English. They have been married for 46 years, I'm 43 and my brother is 42 at the end of this year.
They both met in barbados as my dad was an electrician on boats that sailed all over the world and happened to meet our mum and brought her back to the UK. My parents faced racismn from his family so they weren't in our lives. We grew up with our mothers side of the family and dad. They go back to where they met years ago every few years. Dad's 70 soon and mum is already 65. I love my parents very much and now we have kids of our own, I have a son and daughter with my hubby(who happens to be white-French) and my brother has a daughter with his wife who happens to be white- italian.
My aunt also married a white englishman they've been together for 60 years! London is a melting pot so we never felt left out, and having mixed cousins also helped.

As a white guy my opinion is that the group which should be blamed for "pushing" black women back from the interracial dating market are black men. When black men date white women it is a huge achievment for them and they show their relationship proudly. I am a white (Italian) American and have been happily married to a mixed-race Puerto Rican woman who is part black for 47 years. We are both sick and tired of all the interracial couples in TV commercials today. They are usually black men with white women (the most common examples) or white men with East Asian women. Hispanics are almost completely left out. There was intermarriage between whites and blacks and Native Americans in Latin America long before it began in North America or Europe. At least Spanish men married the women instead of making them mistresses like the British, French, and North Americans did.
So basically, the ones with the biggest failure rate are always most represented.

I’m a white female and grew up in the punk rock scene in the 90s. All of my white guy friends are married to black women. They couldn’t be happier and theyre some of the happiest couples I’ve ever seen. I think when people got down to it and realize that we’re all human beings that grew up together, shared human experiences with each other, none of us cared about what race anybody was.

Aw, this warms my heart. I'm going on 19 years with my Italian husband (yeah, true paesano, from the old country). I have 2 other bw friends married to American white men, and I'm not saying that we're all perfect, but we're some of the chillest, coziest, healthiest, drama free couples I know. I’ve only had success with white men. Black guys never want to commit. White men are wining and dining and have a fear of losing out on me 100xs the black men I’ve dated. I dated multiple black men and when it came down to it they always hit me with the “I’m not ready to settle down” “you’re cute but your not sexy” white men never have this dilemma. They’re way more intentional, they’re straight forward- there are no mind games to their courting. They are quick to want to be in a relationship and they move faster. I left a 35 year old black man who still wasn’t ready to settle down with a wife or children for a white guy that within 2 months told me he wanted to marry me and he couldn’t imagine his life without me. He was 29. More black women need to date out if they want to get married. I also think black men hold us to an impossible standard that they can’t even meet. I always feel like I can be myself more with white men because they aren’t constantly negging me or trying to disprove my experience. I've been with my husband 15yrs, married for 8 and in the beginning we had our share of comments, stares and encounters with people that didnt approve. My husband always spoke up and stood up for us. I love my husband wholeheartedly and I’m crazy about our beautiful kids. Some people can be pretty hateful but don’t let that stop you from finding happiness in this life. My husband was told by a WW that she was mad at him because he “swapped” her for a BW and a BM was bold enough to tell me that my WM wouldn’t know how to “please me” and that the WM used to rape BW. I considered this BM a friend but had to cut our friendship when he went as far as belittling my husband after I told him we were expecting our 1st child.
The beauty standards are changing and it’s good to see more BW realizing their worth and knowing that they can be loved and respected just as much as any blonde-haired, blue-eyed beauty. My motto in life is to never let hate or fear stop you from showing love and being kind. So with all due respect to the brothers, go get your man, sis…whatever race he may be!
