- How the Media Markets White Men to Black Women is quite interesting. The reason they have to do this is because of slavery in America and the manner in which Black were handled by White men. The history of slavery lingers and the image of the White man has been tarnished by Black people. So in recent times, the media has taken special care to market White men to Black women in a way that's palatable. This video list several movies and television shows that have taken care to re-brand the image of White men in the eyes of Black women and make his safe and protective.

Other races of Men need to be an option to BW. It's not working just dealing with BM. A Pew Research Center study showed that Black American men and White American women were the top two groups interested in interracial dating. It's time to break down these barriers and not limit oneself. If you possess qualities such as kindness, intelligence, sweetness, and fun, you will attract men of all races who are interested in you. But recently, the 2020 census revealed black women date more interracially than black men. You know what the difference is? Thank you for this video, I agree with most of what was said. I used to think that BM telling BW that they don't want them was a mean thing to say, now I think it is a blessing in disguise, If anyone tells you I don't like you and I don't want you around, they have just done you a huge favor. When I understood that we as blk people are extremely different from each other and It could be that the only thing we have in common is our shared experience with racism and the history of slavery in this country. But the idea that BW are the ones in the blk community that should try to hold it together is crazy. Interracial couples are not responsible to do anything to benefit any community period and BW should go find love and peace elsewhere. When I thought about getting married and raising a family, I very quickly learned that BM would not be a good choice for me, in addition it was very easy to meet and date WM because there are more of them that are available and they want to get married and have families. In the future as BW start to realize they can date whoever they want, you will start to see more BW/WM couples.

I’m with a BW, and have never been happier. My experience with WW has been awful, they are entitled, controlling, and manipulative. Im an Italian American and I think maybe my Latin values and upbringing maybe responsible for that.
Thank you for your video. As a BW who has been married to a WM since 1985, I'm not so sure the media has been marketing WM to BW. I think it has been an evolution of awareness that BW are 1) desirable, and 2) we are now embracing our options. In general, I encourage BW to love whoever is good, kind, supportive and loving to them regardless of race. Life is short.
With regard to Thomas Jefferson one little known fact is that Sally Hemmings was the half-sister of Martha, Jefferson's late wife. The age difference aside, Jefferson's attraction to Hemmings may have been that she reminded him physically of his late wife. The full story of the relationship between Jefferson and Hemming goes back a generation to Martha's father who was the father of Sally Hemmings. Sally came to Monticello with her mother as a wedding gift from Martha's parents.

I’ve been stationed all around the world, and have been exposed to all races of women in those places. I was never attracted to non black women. I never could discard my mother and father’s influences in my life. They definitely impacted me with whom I would marry. Therefore, my only love was and is for an American Black woman. For me, it would be stressful to adjust or discard my culture or my way of life for another culture. Maybe, my mother and sister’s’ physical beauty had a lot to do with how I measured beauty in the real world of non black women. My black beautiful wife for 37 years was the best decision I made for a soulmate for life. We have been successful with our marriage and material wealth. My dad and mom were married for over 64 years. I do not curse people who find love in other races that include my three sons. I will always love my black wife until death. The sad thing, many blacks don’t know what a big decision they’re making that could affect them and their children for the rest of their life. Nothing stays the same including interracial marriages.

This is my first time watching this episode. Thank you Lady Boule, it was very informative. African American women are very sought after by Caucasian men. I can attest to that fact. I think it is a survival of the fittest thing--where after so many years of research on Black people, the whites realized they need us to live. I say that because they are dying off in droves in white on white countries. The best way to thwart your recessive traits is to get with a Black person of the opposite sex. I agree it is marketed everywhere. Even the stock photographs that come with picture frames are of IR couples. I wouldn't do it but I am older and not in the market. I think it is an easier move for young women to make because they are divorced from our history, don't have living relatives who were adults pre-1965 and many young men have already jumped the fence like Le Bron's son for example .

You forgot the movie A Bronx Tale. Here is the thing that is just my opinion. Statistics show WM/BF marriages are the most successful. My opinion is that while it is much more acceptable today, there is still some taboos. If a couple can fall in love and overcome those together, they become a stronger couple. As for the marketing? I think it’s not being marketed to destroy the black family, I think it’s more about the fact that since the Gen x generation, interracial marriages have become more acceptable and they are trying to them. My theory is within 100 years, Both the US and Canada will see so many interracial marriages that they will become a new racial group that will become the majority.

The thing I note off the cuff about women in mind is Romantic Love. Without resources to protect, I believe, as a black man, I cannot marry whom I like, especially since I'm the provider and the protector. It's best to focus on the practical. People can adjust to one another over time should they make the effort. I don't believe much in Romantic Love because it's driven by expectations that may or may not be met.
As for marrying white people, I believe that the population of whites as a whole is against it. And since we live in a society wherein the children are vulnerable, we must consider whom we marry. The world does not belong to us. Our choices, for the most part, because economics are limited. The older I get, the more I am convinced that Romantic Love may not be the way to go for men. Above all, I consider relationships and finances as practical matters overall.
On the chart of love, Romantic Love is not at the top of the list for me. In the past, thinking this way worked (or didn't, according to your politics), but nowadays, Romantic Love is a fantasy.

I’m sure how the media markets WM to BW plays a large role in perception no doubt but the reason there’s so few WM w/BW is because BW are the least marketable women and WM are the most marketable men. I don't necessarily agree with you about the White man being seen as the great protector of Black women, My Dad a Black American worked two jobs so Mom didn't have to work so she'd be there at home when we came home after school. I know a lot of Black women who married a White man for love and nothing else, some exclusively after being messed over by Black men. As a retired senior military officer I've seen a lot of military couples in mixed marriages Black women with White men and beautiful children. A minister friend of mine was a dark skinned Black man married to a White woman because the young Black women of his day said he was too dark for them. Well he met a beautiful White woman who could've had any White man but she loved him and they celebrated 55 years of marriage until his death leaving behind a widow and four beautiful middle age adult children and 13 grandchildren.

What was considered acceptable even 100 years ago is vastly different and will be different 100 years from now. We wouldn’t want to be demonized and vilified for how we conduct ourselves considering we’re following the current social guidelines for behavior.
When life expectancy is 35-40 years old, one can be forgiven for starting adulthood earlier than we do today. Living past 80 wasn’t a normal occurrence in the 1700’s and Jefferson had a much better quality of life than 95-99% of the rest of America. It would have no doubt been a favorable experience/arrangement for most teenage girls at the time. They didn’t enjoy the benefits and luxuries we take for granted today.
Which brings me back to my point: we don’t and can not know the hearts of people who lived 200+ years ago, nor can we hold them to the standards we set for ourselves today. I highly doubt anyone would want themselves to be judged many years after their death with no possibility to explain, provide context, or even accept responsibility and accountability for their actions.
