Despite all this crazy stuff happening, I still find that the BEST Superman stories are without the massive alien invasions and multiverse shenanigans.
Tomasi’s run on the character at the beginning of Rebirth was what REALLY made me love Superman. Him just trying to be a good dad to his son, and still having to be a superhero. The issue of them together at the fair is STILL my favorite comic book ever.
YAYY thanks for more of this. I'd say go through the basics in this format. 10 yrs of spider-man, 10 years of Avengers, 10 years of wolverine/xmen. Then maybe pick and choose decade's of your choosing, example: 10 years of batman (1990-2000) somthing like that. But this video format is great.

I really find these 10 year recap videos to be helpful! I was following your channel back during new 52 era but lost touch with comics around Rebirth and am trying to jump back into Dawn of DC. So this is perfect! Let’s me catch up without having to go through a crazy backlog.

I like it that way. Let’s me know the Superman my dad grew up reading is the same one I’m reading. Let’s me connect with him as when I get new comics I’ll show him them and talk about what’s happening. He loves all the recent adventures and how fatherly the characters become.

Enjoying this new series of videos. Flash would be great to see. Barry and wally. Jeremy Adams run of Flash was amazing especially considering the assaination of the character by tom king. And barry had fun stories and the combination of both is perfect for this theme of videos
Superman finds a friend with similar powers...... the new friend dies...... Superman fights a monster and gets depowered..... Superman's identify gets revealed.... Status Quo resets.... Repeat..... Repeat ....... Repeat..... Repeat

Great video! Breakdowns like these help new comic readers understand the mass flow of constant changes within big name character storylines. Videos like these also help new readers realize that they are not alone when it comes to being confused while reading and when it comes to trying to understand what is canon and what is no longer canon lol.

I really like these types of vids because i dont necessarily want to manually go back sometimes. There are times when i hve the time to but other times im just like idgaf to try and do all that.

It’s kinda funny how they keep revealing Superman’s identity and then undoing it. I hopped on with dawn of DC so I preferred it being a secret identity.
But they still refuse to undo the horrible Jonathan Samuel Kent being aged up for garbage.
@@TevyaSmolka at this point he’s spent a few years older, has a boyfriend, and was even in a crisis. Unless they kill the character off and bring him back as a kid they probably won’t ever de age him which does kinda suck. But now we have the super twins who do the children of Superman role pretty well. They basically Superman’s dick Grayson with him adopting them and raising them as his own. Lois in the new house of brainiac calls they her babies after brainiac took them.

The other Superman story has Jons origin, Morrison version of Authority assembled for a different reason than main universe, Authority in main uni gathered to go to WarWorld since the others deny going.

The arc with John aged up is still a sore spot for me and I still see it as wasted story. We should have gotten to see him grow up. Just hate that entire run.
Don't care for Perpetua either because it just ended up as another Batman Who Laughs story. That horse was neat to death so much I never want to ever see him again. Talk about plot armor! Yeesh!
