- This video explores the history of Catalonia and looks to see how it ended up as part of Spain while maintaining a strong sense of distinctiveness. It begins with the first people, traces its path as a Roman colony, its high point as a medieval kingdom and its union with Castille. It continues with the development of Catalan nationalism, its difficult years during the Franco regime, and why in recent times its government and population have sought independence from Spain at different points despite its increasing prosperity.
the national anthem in the background is beautiful. great vid
Good OnYa Matey 🤙😉 Keep up the great production’s 🙏😊
Sooner or later, we will make it!💪🏼💪🏼
Explain how
make what? condemning yourself to misery and poverty just because a fascist and racist theologist from the 19th century said castilian and aragonese blood is not pure but catalan is? don't make me laugh
@@srhs_wrestling7480 By the appropriate means depending on the situation, as your other colonies before us have done, which you have lost !
Nice, make one of Extremadura next
Este tio no sabe lo que es una bellota LUSITANA 😅
Catalonia's history is regrettably its destiny.
Catalan counties were 5 times the kingdom of Aragon and the house of Aragon was the house of Barcelona until the new disnasty of Trastamara. ignorants should remember that.
catalonia was not an independent kingdom, thats a big blatant lie.
The video doesnt say that at any time. He talks about the Kingdom of Aragón and the Count of Barcelona...
@@adriamedina2563 he does.
@@mr.battledroid2195 where?
@@adriamedina2563nevermind, he says up and coming, still he romanticizes Catalonia dominating Mediterranean trade when they were the poorest of the poorest in Europe until the king of Aragon modernized and reconstructed them
@@mr.battledroid2195 Still, Catalonia and Aragon have a huge history together. Aragon would be nothing without Catalonia and Catalonia would be nothing without Aragon... Shame now there are two regions that are not that alike...
